NPIP National Poultry Improvement Plan, what it is is a testing system that is a national plan but each state has it own rules, some are very ridged some are almost non-existent, some are free. low cost, or expensive

WI is expensive, but mid way for rules, WI certified is the same thing but free except for the testing

I was afraid of that. No shows in my future then. I suppose it applies to the county fairs too

Adorable roo, BTW.

Good Morning all!!!!! KAQ 10 eggs / 9 hens. I like to abreviate when I can it saves me time to do more. I like to maximise my time. Are you buying that? Truthfully I'm just lazy.

I too love the color and markings on your boy BCC! I got into chickens for eggs and meat but am having a hard time holding to it with all the beautiful breeds out there. Have the Kellner thing penciled in on the 17th of Apr. I have to look at the back posts to see who it was that said they were also going to do a mini meet and greet. OK fordmommy here goes gonna see if I can figure out the pic thing.

Good Morning!! It's great to wake up and have sunshine again today. Well our girls were lazy yesterday and left us only 1 egg, good thing we have some left from the days before-kind of hard to make breakfast for 5 with only 1 egg!

Collected about 5 gal of maple sap yesterday and will probably start the boiling down process later this afternoon, we are up to about 10 gals collected so far. It takes between 12-16 hours to complete a batch from start to finish(putting into jars). We start outside, using the turkey fyer burner but not the kettle for the fryer as it doesn't hold heat. We cook in stainless steel pots and do the majority of the cooking outside due to the amount of humidity/water that is boiled off. It is very intersting to watch and this is our 3rd year making maple syrup.

oh hen and roo
i remember when my gpa used to do syrup loved the smell and it was fun to watch it cook down ... very good memories for me

Ok that didn't work. Can't get the pics to transfer to the post. fordmommy PM me your E mail address, that I can do, sort of. Don't know if the sun dried it up or the frost went out in that spot but the big puddle of water is gone from in front of the coop/ run doors. H&R you've probably tried this but put a little syrup on your ice cream. You'll be sorry! Here's another oldie but a goodie eat a saltine with vanilla ice cream. The Cadbury Easter commercials are on again. I told L I was going to tie a red paper comb on top of her fat rat cat's head and teach her to say Buck Buck Buck!
