Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Chilly morning to all.

DrH, don't feel bad, we're all happy for you that you get to call it quits. I wonder how you dealt with the crappola for so many years. I know how you feel. My last job, I enjoyed the work and most of my coworkers were great, but the management I coulnd't take (well, no one else could either.) DH wanted me to stay home with kids anyway; it's been almost a year since I left. Still, it was hard to say farewell to my work buddies. Now less stress, and less income

We make do.

I cannot wait to get some fluffy butts of my own, almost everyone has babies but me

Just hoping we can get that shipping crate/coop home in one piece. And hopefully can do all the work myself as DH is a bit grumbly about the whole thing. Just wait til he sees the little peepers, he'll change his tune! He's a big softy.

Have a good weekend, try to stay warm, huh?

BBCB- the swap is sun. Good thing you didn't go! I have clients in Cedarburg and it takes me 40 to get there. Beaver dam is still 25 mins northwest of me. That would have been a long drive for nothing. You could have stopped and visited me on your way home though.

DrHaHa- I don't think anyone on here thinks your gloating just excited as you should be! I say you never know if it's going to work unless you just jump in. That's how I have decided to go through life lately and for the past 3 years it's worked for me. And I really do like my job so it makes working alittle better when it doesn't feel like work. Actually DH and I had a discussion about that the other day, Him saying "works work, it's not suppose to be fun." Me saying "Then whats the point, who wants to misrerable everyday? I know I'm not going to get ahead until all 4 girls are thru college and thats 20 years from now, so might as well be happy now too." He just wants me to work alittle bit more. Fat chance as long as we are making it comfortablely then I'm good. I was only giving you a hard time because thats what I do.
Well we got that disgusting white stuff on our lawn this morning. I'm so done with the cold. I got spoiled with the nice weather and now I want it back. On the bright side, because of the snow I'm not going to work outside and instead am going shopping with the girls. Wish me luck! They always talk me into more then what I want to spend. Have a great day everyone!

Well Dr H try not to knock you house down or you will be working longer!

We have to do that here too...another branch of our very crippled looking cedar tree came down with the last snow. It might have to be cut all the way this summer. It kind of looks like a huge trunk with two arms going out to the sides and a tophat of leafy branches. You can picture it I am sure! The problem for me is that I dont want to leave anything homeless. There is a large hollow near the top and a bunch of creatures are always going in and out. Since none of them eat chickens I figure that they can stay. My DH does not agree though...he says it is an eyesore...guess he is blind to all the decomposing vehicles around here!

It must be like those kids that dont see the empty water dish or the poop in the yard hey?
I figure I need to leave here at 5 tomorrow morning too. My neighbor might come along with me to check it out. Should be a fun time! Sure looks like winter here again...glad that the snow wont be staying though. I went out for chores last night and it was really coming down like a storm! There was a half inch by 10 pm. We got about 2" here...just enough to make it sloppy again.
Well, I suppose I out to go and check the chicks in the basement. No chick dreams last night...only scary ones! Cant remember what they were about either--probably a good thing! Mr Red is not happy--I think his foot is hurting so I better get out to Madison and get some of that soaking medicine before I end up having to do the surgery.
Have a great day and Ihope to run into some of you tomorrow! Terri O

Well- I got 16 babies so far. 7 more eggs to go plus the Bobwhite Quail eggs. 2 pips on the chicken eggs. I'll post pics when I get them.

The older babies are headed for the garage today. They are getting STINKY!

Good morning All.... Glad the snow missed us here, even if it does melt right away I can live without it.

Doc, don't fear, it's completely normal to have cold feet when the unknown of what it likes without the daily grind or the regular paycheck.
It truly is a life changing event. The doubts about the choice to make working for the man final, is a big one, for sure. What's the worst that could happen? Yep, that's it. Get a job!

I remember my first week so well...I honestly felt like I was skipping school...

When me and Suzie would run to wally world during the week, I'd ask, doesn't anybody go to work anymore?

Have Fun. I might have to have a bloody Mary this morning. Just cuz they are a morning thing.

Thanks for the heads up! Would have been just like me to get all gussied up and drive all the way and wonder why I was the only one who made it. Thanks for the invite, though...I do want to come and visit you and your fainting goats!

Bigz...I hope you're enjoying your bloody mary, perfect day for it!

fm your going to have to change your name to babymommy if you keep it up. I want to thank you all for being understanding and putting up with me, it ain't over yet. TO I stayed away from the house but got all the pushing done and then some. The new blade works great! I wish it would snow now just to play with it.

Bigz you had my heart once again until you mentioned the "J" word. Deep down I know it's the right thing for me to do. But as you said it's a major life change, it's scary. I cook with tomatoes but for some reason I cannot handle the juice or the raw which really sucks because I would grow cellery just for a Mary Queen of Scotts. I would love a nice spicy, I almost typed BM in the morning.

Amy I have several teeth that are missing little parts just from gritting them. "I'm not kidding". All the people in shop agree so it's not just me being a malcontent and they all despise my ability to get the "H" out of there. There's a lot of good people and friends there and I will miss them but they know where I live. They have all recieved free eggs for nearly a year on a rotational basis but I told them that when I go on a fixed income they will cost $1.50 a doz to offset feed costs. Some will always get them for free. Some will always recieve a hand when asked for. 24/7. Hey my tick bite itches. I take that as a sign the poison is coming out and I'm healing. No bullseye as of yet. Got both of my chainsaws sharpened and fired up. Dad gave me his and found that's it's almost new but the chain needs a touch up but runs great! About in the middle of my Still and the limb saw as far as weight. Nice to have a back up. Lunch then a nap! Practice practice practice!

We will be going to the Beaver Dam swap tomorrow to check out what is there.

Here are some updated pictures of the bantam chicks that we hatched from Blue and Mort. They are 4 weeks old now. Only 2 chicks are with us as the 3rd severly hurt it's leg and was suffering....the 4 year old took it pretty well considereing he says those are his.

Here is Baby 1-we think(hope) it is a girl.

Let me know what you think they might be, if the one is a rooster.. Terry O has offered him a home as we already have 4 boys.

My suspicions on that second baby is boy too. Oftly big comb for such a little one. But only time will tell for sure.

The other swap for Weyauwega is April 17th, 6am - 11am at the Waupaca County Fair Grounds. $2 per person, kids 12 and under free. Contact: Donna 920-250-1661 or Tammy 920-596-2916.

So 2 swaps at Waupaca County Fair Grounds.

I'm still waiting on these 2 pips. One is finally getting bigger. That's the other Salmon Favrolle. I know the one that hatched yesterday is a little ROO! He's got the dark skin on his wings where the dark feathers will come in. He sure is cute! Really fuzzy too!

I need HELP!

I keep trying to post my eggs for sale on Craig's list and my ad is always flagged. DO any of you post there? I have no idea what is wrong with the post. I tried with and without pics and complex and simple. Can you just not post eggs for sale? I didnt see anything in the prohibited area...DH says I should post on the services offered area and say free eggs $2 delivery! I might have to resort to that! Terri O
