It was kinda weak from the start.

I just hope the others survive. All chicken babies are doing fine. I really gotta get that coop done this weekend.

Hens and Roos. You are right about being outside. I raked out my flower beds in the front yesterday. And raked all the gravel out of the lawn. And washed up all the stuff I bought for chickens. I got a awesome deal from a friend who has about a ton of old waterers and feeders. Nearly antiques! It's just been awesome outside.

Here you go. But it's not for all breeds. I was told that the trate has to be bred into them.

But I don't know for sure. I am testing it with these baby chicks. We'll see what I get.

Howdy All, I just spent some time reading posts. Sounds like several of ya went to Beaver Dam. The wife talked me out of going last weekend. I was pleasantly surprised that she really enjoyed going to Fondy and doing swaps. I hope that I can convince her its a good idea to go to Neilsville.

We have an accepted offer on a house in Fremont. We are waiting for inspection.

My wife kind of wants to come home to work on Purely Poultry instead of finding a new job, but we also like health insurance. What a confusing time.

I thought you all should know about the Wisconsin Poultry Facebook Group http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=138230714256&ref=ts It has been pretty dormant.

My computer died last week so I have been scrambling to get things done on a borrowed computer. It sucks having to reinstall every software!

Hello, Tyler! You'll love living in Fremont. That's where my DH is from. His dad and Sister and most of his other family still live there. And MY parents live just 5 miles from there. Congrats on the house! Hope it all works out!

Hello Everyone! KAQ At the top left of the page in blue it says index click on that then down to Breeds, Genetics, Show. At the top of the list is a thread about sex linked chicks. Loving the weather! Had to dig out the big grill. My youngest called and wants to come over Fri. with her boyfriend and cook out. THEIR bringing the food!

I like free food! Have another comitment Sat. morning otherwise we'd be going to Neilsville. Have plans on the Kellner thing but just realized it's first day of the rest of my life without a job and it's also the annual perch run up north. But that might come early this year. Have to play it by ear. Gotta get back outside!

It wasn't as nice out today as it has been here in the Dells area - very overcast. I took the opportunity to give all the duck pens a complete spring cleaning. They needed it - I don't know how they manage to get poo on the ceiling.

My poor Mallards that refused to go outside and swim in their pond all winter have a terrible case of wet-feather.

They were out swimming today, and then they sat there, wet and cold and miserable looking until I toweled them off.

Oh, and the fertile duck eggs I picked up at the Beaver Dam swap are all developing! I'm going to have some Welsh Harlequins in mid-April!

Well after watching Blue and Mort off and on today we determined that they weren't coming out of the coop and therefore not getting any food or water

attempted to block the bigger chickens so they could come out but that didn't work very well... so we set up a dog crate in our big garage and move Blue and Mort. They have less space but seem happy and no one blocking the food and water.

Also noticed that our RIR hen has a chipped beak- is there any thing we can do for her? She is eating and drinking just fine.

Good Evening to All... Yep it's the time of year to get off the lazyboy...

Doc I hope it's all good for you....It matters to me ya know? Yep the simple life. It's the best i assure you! You need any help with adjusting to freedom...I can spend a few moments with ya.

I 've been reading the posts and I remember a few...
I would choose to feed the medicated starter for your peeps regardless of the size of the flock.

One needs to feed the medicated feed for at least 8 weeks for it to work..longer is better. I would prefer to buy peeps that have immunity from cocci. While I've never had a problem, I sure don't want to have that problem....if you did, I'm sure you would wish you would have taken some simple precausions as simple as is feeding the proper feed, in my opinion.

Buy the medicated feed. It's all about the peeps,,eh!
