It was a beautiful morn to be in the woods. My dad got a tom this morn also 8 inch beard.

Wow gone for a couple days and you hens are clucking away. Congrats Bigzio! and welcome to all that are new!
Dr Haha- it's moments like that when you talk to the idiots of the world and remember why you want go get the hell out of there in the first place. He is just jealous because he is threatened by your chickens and their intelligence.

BBCB- No more roo's for me, but thanks for thinking of me. Hey when are you bringing your girls over? Babies will be born by the end of the month. You could come then, that's really the best time.
Fordmommy- I love the pics and I think peanut is so cute! Makes me want one.

Well it's been a busy week for me and it's almost over. I have two papers to write for school and haven't even started yet.

They are due on Tues. I hate homework! This nice weather isn't helping either. Well my eggs are due to hatch by this weekend so keep your fingers crossed for me. Hopefully they will wait till I'm home I don't want to miss it. Midwest horse fair this weekend, Terri O you going? Well have a good one everyone!!

Thanks Terri O.! I'm going to try to make it though I usually work 80 hours a week (I'm a bench jeweler) and don't always have the time to get away. I will do my very best to try though!

Fordmommy- Your lil' peanut is tiny but so adorable! I forget how little they are at first before the quickly grow into rebel-rousin' adults. LOL

Annarie- I love hearing about your ducks. I miss the ones I used to have & used to take endless artistic photos of them.

Becky: couldn't agree more! Pretty sad when your not even smarter than a chicken. He has half the brain of a duck you know. "Monty P." I'm taking the camera in today so that I'll have to learn to photoshop their heads on to something more interesting and appropriate. Then print them out for the guys at work.

Last full day of stupidity. Very soon you all won't have to listen to my aggravation just my version of stupitity. MtF it makes my hands hurt just thinking about 80 hrs of small work but sounds very interesting to me. One thing I've always wanted to try my hand at is smithing. That too is an art. I want everyone to have at least half as great a day as I will!!!

What cute ducklings! Mine are all dirty right now from getting their little heads in the soupy, icky mess they make with their food and water. I think it's warm enough today that I'll let them go outside for a few hours and have a bath.

Ugh - well, we can't get a hold of my grandpa, and the cat is doing much worse.
sad.png

He hasn't eaten anything in four days but a bit of milk and three tiny pieces of salmon that I got him to eat yesterday - he would've eaten more salmon I think, but I don't want to upset his stomach. He just turns his head away when I offer him anything else - I've tried every flavor of canned cat food in the cupboard, cooked turkey, scrambled egg, cubes of cheese (one of his favorites), and even kitten formula.

I'm going to keep an eye on him today, but if we can't get a hold of my grandpa before the vet closes tonight we're going to take him in and end it. I wish this hadn't happened on my watch.

Annarie, I am so sorry that is happening with your grandpa's cat right now. Something like that happens with a friend of mine's cat a lot. She has to give it water injections in the back 3-4x a day. This has been going on for 2 years now. The cat is like 17 too. I think she should put the darn thing out of it's misery personaly.

Very sad.

Well done Bigz, patience is indeed a virtue.

I've got to get the storm window off the coop now so the birds can get some of this fresh air. For as long as it lasts I'm digging this summer weather. Ya hoo!

Dr. H Tomorrow is your last day! Holy Cow. I'm with Terri O, I wish I was joining you!

I did end up taking the cat to the vet, the vet managed to get a hold of my grandpa and gave him her personal opinion that the cat should be euthanized - and my grandpa agreed. I loved that cat, he's one of a pair that my sister and I picked out from a litter when we were still in elementary school, but I am so relieved. He lived a good life of almost 14 years. My only regret is that I had to take him to the vet and leave him there (they were going to run some tests on his kidney function, but apparently he was too far gone), and no one was there with him. Still, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted, and now I can go take the ducklings out for a bath in the afternoon sun without that constant nagging worry weighing over me.

I hope everyone else is spending some time outside, enjoying the beautiful day!

So sorry Annarie I know it's hard. My 12 year old cat Bob is sitting at my feet purring after climbing in my lap and nuzzling my face. It's almost a daily thing. I know I told you guys that I raised him from a puppy. He's my boy! Again Sorry! BBCB I'm listening to Lost Dogs and Mixed Blessings. My Tape got eaten a number of years ago. So it's kitchen dancin tonight! WOOHO! Thank you so much! I'm sending a check at least for the postage. DO NOT ARGUE WITH ME! I ain't hurtin nobody, ain't hurtin no one. Yes as they say I'm pullin the plug tomorrow at 11 AM. I can count the hours on one hand. I'm punching out and going to fetch the pizza's for the guys but they won't be ready when I arrive. Hmm what shall I do to pass the time. Lets see their being made at a local bar Hmmm. Maybe I should have a beer or two and think about it while I'm there. Then back to the shop to feed the boys and load up my tool boxes. Then home, guess I won't be able to use the excuse that I need my toolboxes to organize all my tools before reorganizing the garage. Where will I find the time? I hear Laura singing under breath in her office. We were standing, standing by peaceful waters. It's one of her fav's! They were sizzlin! I'm getting veclempt sorry fordmommy that's your schtick.

I talked to the guy that lives close to me he has a 2 1/2 year old roo he wants to get rid of and I told him about Kellner so he might show up too. Told him I'd be over soon to watch chicken TV and I'm bringing a small cooler and a lawn chair. Seems like a nice guy. I want to thank all you guys for putting up with my rants! I wish I had enough money to have you all retire on a nice farm so you could feel the mud squishin between your toes! I'm freakin! Don't forget your toothbrush your hairbrush and your comb......Everybody Dance!
