flyweed and Deer Creek! Nice to have new people.

Bigzio, I LOVE the White Bass! I was going to take the boys fishing today, but the wind was relentless. Instead we did a little rummage saling and Menards shopping. I picked up some really cool solor-powered crackled glass globe lights that change colors or you can have them white. I LOVE THEM!!!!! I'm going to get more.

$9.99 for a 2 pack. And we had to buy a new cieling fan with lights for our big living room. When we turn on the lights they start to crackle and flicker. NOT COOL! And sometimes the fan doesn't work.

Hope everyone had a great day!

Good evening all!

to the new arrivals! I hope you will stay a while and decide all of us are so neat that you want to meet us in person at the chickenfest! That is great about the keats Bigz...I could use 4-6. I am hoping to raise the girl/boy ratio. (and get some babies of my own next year!)
I had a great time at my new chicken friends' house in Marshall. He shared rhubarb and asparagus with me along with the Phoenix Roo. He is gorgeous: purple and green iridescent feathers along his back. I hope he will get along with the rest of my guys...
I made a rhubarb upside-down cake with some of the rhubarb and some asparagus with Hollandaise sauce. THen I was perusing some recipes and made this thing with bananas, black beans and coconut milk--we served it over rice. The sweetness was a nice contrast to the Hollandaise but I dont know if I will make it again. I am stuffed anyhow! Everyone liked it and I didnt have to clean up!

Amyable--I thought the frogs that sang were spring peepers and were green. That sure looks like a toad you have there though! When we first moved here and heard the peepers me and the kids went to the pond next door to see them and I could have sworn that they were green! Maybe they just look that way with a flashlight? That is a really cool pic! You should enter it in the fair.
Going out to put the girls to bed--sleep well everyone! Terri O-who then will be going to bed too!

Apologies for not saying this earlier, but

all the newbies!!!

Amyable, she did get in to the school. It is the Renaissance school at Appleton West, but I do not think it is the one showcased in Supersize me. Love your toad pic, the kids found one the other day in our little pond that was about the size of a medium orange!

Prom tonight in town, I love watching all the kids go to the dance. They are so cute in their formals and suits.

Hoping I get to tackle the weeding tomorrow. With the rain we had it will be much easier to convince the weeds they are being evicted.

GOOD MORNING! I had to get up early just to say it first...just kidding--I have to work today so I have 10 minutes before I need to leave so here I am. Congrats on getting into the school BL4's daughter! My nephew goes to one of those in Milwaukee I think and he really likes it. I hope your daughter has a really good experience. My kids must just be run of the mill type kids because they all did fine in Public school--well my son could have had a better experience I guess...the last one is graduating at the end of May so no more school dealings for me!

Well, better get off to work...bringing the man some of the rhubarb up-side-down cake for breakfast! Terri O

Good Morning to All! Having to retype this the power just blipped off and on. Bigz I've never been able to cook any type of bass to my liking, always turns out mushy. What's the secret? BCC thanks for the tip. L's hooked on home made bread now, I always have been. I blame my G'ma. She made bread twice a week in a wood stove. I remember sitting impatiently at the kitchen table waiting for that first heel. Probably drove her nuts. L is still sacked out. She drove to Delevan yesterday and helped clean her DD and SIL's apartment then drove back. She was wiped out. Their moving into a house. Wish I could sleep like her. Heading back into the garden shortly. Plotted it out yesterday and added 3 more feet to the new section. Think I can fit even the cuc's in there now. Going to plant the rest of the seeds today. Think we're past the frost point. Gonna go for it. Have plenty of seed if not. If things go as planned

L will have to come out and be the garden guard while I re-fence. Will put in the pepper and mater plants in a couple of weeks. Things to do!

Ok, so can I say annoyed??? Out of 9 call duck eggs I have 3 developing.

Pitched all the mallard eggs this morning except one. That one looks like the last one she laid so maybe we will get a baby out of that one.....

Well, another day of work.... I can't wait to have every weekend off.

So BCC, when are yours due to hatch? What colors, kinds are they?

I had my eggs shipped from NY. Two with broken air cells. It would be nice to have more than 3 viable eggs going in the bator.... ugh how frustrating!!!
