I can't wait for Sat! Very excited to meet everyone. I have some yellow iris if anyone is interested I will dig them out, otherwise I'm bring some chicks, anyone else? We also have 8th grade graduation for our oldest DD on Sunday. Busy Busy. What a crummy day. Still raining out there. Kids are done with school today. Hopefully the weather clears up so we can go outside. I want to take them to the park and have a picnic tomorrow, hopefully the weatherman comes thru for us. Have a good one!
PS What other kind of food do we need for this weekend? I can bring something else. Are we all bringing a main dish for our own troops or for everyone? Let me know if someone thinks of something else they want to eat. I only am down for desserts and I could bring something else.

Good morning all!!! Yes Yes Yes Bigz if Suzie will part with her recipe I would really appreciate it. Was just sitting here thinking about making bread this morning mulling over what is causing this rising problem it has to be the yeast. I've made bread for many many years and this just has me exasperated. Think I'll hold off on making it till I talk to Suzie. Instead I'll make a couple of pies on Friday to bring along with the beef bean bake on Saturday. fm are you planning on having a sign in notebook? You know so we have a record of who all attended and where their from. Maybe the first column would be their on line name then family members names and home address. Thinking online name then real name on the name tags too. But you probably have that covered. Coffee is kickin in gotta go.

Wow you sure do have that early blood in your veins DrH! Got the first cup down and ready to head to Milwaukee now...just have to let the flock out. Had to stay most of the night at a clients last night--long story and no time to type it!
Yes Becky I will take yellow iris. I have Lamb's Ears (Stachys), Ribbon Grass, a purple pond plant--not sure of the name but perrenial, Chinese limelight (kinda invasive but a good tall cover), and lots of seeds I can bring. And Rabbits!

Any kind of extra chow that anyone wants to bring is fine...main dish type thing and side is for all to share but dont feel you have to make enough for everyone to have some! That would be WAY too much food! Wrapping my gift today--I am so excited....Terri O

Sad day here our barn yard special banti something got her last night and her nest with 18 eggs was left behind .. the eggs were cold but hoping by putting them in bator we might get one or two save not sure ... the kids found feathers everywhere they were not happy ... very much looking forward to new babies from her .. and today is the last day of school here too what a way to start the day and summer

They're all done hatching (I lost two - one died without ever pipping, and another had started zipping but died midway) - I ended up with 4 boys and 2 girls. So, I have some extra boys, all purebred (not pure color though) Indian Runners!

I might just bring them along on Saturday and hope that some of you fall in love with them and have to have them.

I keep watching the weather for Friday and Saturday.

I AM glad we got the shelter. Looks like 80% chance of rain on Saturday.

Busy planting my tomatoes in the tomatoes boxes and peppers too. They've been in the house long enough. Mowed the lawn and planted more flowers.

Eating super early today. Headed over to Organic Mechanic's parents' house tonight for fishing in the pond. Wish us luck!

First, I have to finish up making some more jelly.

Hello All!

Man, this is a busy place...I've been working my butt off so haven't visited as often, dang it.

Dr. H!!! I am hoping to make it there on Saturday, I've got the day off but it's up to Mom, she's got a volunteer thing that she's trying to get someone else to pony up for...I've got my fingers crossed. As far as my favorite beverage, it's lemonade. Seriously! I don't drink (anymore), so I'm pretty easy, drink-wise.

If I come I'm bringing some sausage and some pasta salad. I'll know for sure tomorrow night, k? I've been looking forward to the outing for some time, so I'm hoping it all comes together.

Doc, Bigz, I'm hoping to talk about fishing exploits and spin some tall tales! You gotta love fresh northern, best eating fish around, if you know how to fillet it. Yum!

BBCB Hope you can make it!!!! Otherwise could make a side trip soon to meet you. I just have to! Don't give the JP a second thought it's my head and on the tip of my tongue. Just feel that I have to meet you someday soon. You just sparked an idea for the kids young and old. Who can spin the biggest yarn. First we could get Bigz up to tell about the time he almost grew a tomato. Then you could go next with your version of the deadly night stalking giant.......

My lawn is the point of bringing in the neighbor so he can bale it for the horses! Me and suzie are gonna have to get some cut tomorrow. God we both hating cutting grass...only about 4 acres of the dreaded stuff....kinda like weeds in the garden to me.

Feel bad for momma, my broody brahma that always did wonderful in the past raising peeps. I took her from her private nest today, with nothing but broken eggs and no peeps. The other older hens aren't giving a warm welcome back either. I was hoping she would come through... not to be this time.

Thanks once again for the great pics Annarie. Sorry for the lost mom KAQ....hope you can get them to hatch!

Beautiful Morning Everyone! Yup TO up by 5:15 every day every once in a while I sleep in till 6 but that seems to make for a short day somehow. Bigz couldn't agree more this is going to be fun! With all this rain it's not hard to see how your yard could get away from ya. Told my mom that's why I bought this place so I could pee where ever I wanted. fm keep dancing I see this morning that the rain is now pushed back to Friday evening. KAQ sorry to hear about your Banty it's a terrible loss! Yesterday was spent turning the food and bedding storage area in the coop into an appartment for not so lil ones. It worked out really well made a chicken wire door and cut a large hole in the inner chicken wire wall to allow them into the big girl area and access to the run. They loved the new bigger area, their growing so fast. The only drawback is now eveything is moved into the garage but it won't be that bad. Need to go get some straw, make a pan of brownies, and weed the small garden. And going to try to get the garage cleaned up again from the brooder box being in there. Better get to it.
