Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Is there anybody in the northern WI area? Say Eagle River, Three Lakes, Rhinelander? It's lonely up here with only my chickens and dogs to talk to.

Anybody know of where I can get my mitts on plans for above ground duck enclosures? I would rather have the ducks off the ground for cleanliness reasons and of course, due to my backyard being the size of a postage stamp......

I added irises to my plant list on the chickenstock page.

Looking forward to tomorrow! I have my White Elephant gift finally too!

No kidding about it down-pouring, fordmommy! It was cloudy and still out and I was measuring duck feed this morning, and all of the sudden a sheet of rain comes down - it was crazy. One of the duck runs that's in a low area is half-flooded. The ducks are loving it.

Well, off to the animal shelter today to pick up a litter of kittens I'll be fostering for two or three weeks. They're a month old, and had to be weaned so that mamma cat could be spayed and adopted out. So, I get to have them while they're still cute and adorable for the next few weeks, until they're old enough to be adopted out too.

And, once I have them all settled in, I have some cooking to do for the bash tomorrow!

babylady4 - Any news about the shipped Call ducklings yet? E-fowl has been saying that Calls are all unavailable or sold out for the year the past two weeks.

Be sure to post the moment they arrive, I'd love to see them - I might just order from them myself next year if I didn't get any girls about of the ducklings we got from Karen!

Oh, and there's a great raised Call duck enclosure here - it has a drainage system and everything: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=287362

Anybody in Wisconsin willing to adopt an 11lbs hairless neutered male terrier that is 10 years old.

They are quite a fun breed.

Annarie, I just emailed them yesterday and today about that order. I am supposed to be getting the full assortment (all colors), they told me they have had a terrible time with their hatching. I am supposed to be getting the ducks next week. I am entitled to a full refund if they are unable to fill my order so I guess I will just have to be patient (NOT one of my better character traits....). You would think that since I put my order in on May 12th, they should be getting something to me by now......

All the other babies are doing well, I will try to bring them tomorrow so everyone can see the little buggers!

The rain has stopped for now, and only 40% for tomorrow so FM no more dancing!

I hope they get them to you!

Calls are a pain in the rump to incubate artificially though - hence my plan to stick Call eggs underneath my Cochins next year - so I can understand them having a hard time hatching enough to fulfill orders.

Afternoon All...I received a pm from cracking up and sounds like she will be coming with her daughter who will be in town. The more folks the better.
Welcome dirty blonde...planned on posting yesterday, however I fell asleep in the chair, and then off to bed.

Suzie has been preparing food all morning and afternoon. Doc I had her whip up a loaf of bread too!

Moved the javas yesterday into the new coop. In shock and scared at first, but running around pretty good today...lots of chest butting going on!

Time to wrap the elephant gifts. Check back later...cracking up might want some keets too.
