anybody else have this...... is the second time I sold birds and the second time this happened.... last year going into winter I sold some extra silkies, getting rid of ALL the ones I wanted to. then I go to the coop the next day and theres a dead chicken.........(a roo) and as you all know I sold ALL my extra roos this past week. I even sold 1 of 2 of my Brown Leghorns in which I really didn't want to but I did. And now today I find my one of my roos standing in the open run crowing his little heart out like as if he was telling me that something is wrong. and there behind him is my lone brown leghorn roo DEAD!!!! what gives??? why when I sell birds do I end up with a dead one? is there something to the fact that they were both roos that died after the sell? and just cause I thought of another question..... why was my one roo like telling me about the dead roo??

Welcome newbies!!!!! I have hatchery birds but If I was begining again I would def. hatch my own, it was funnier! and I ordered from a middle man who lied to me and I wont order from him again. for our meat birds I will order from a hatchery next year BUT I'm going with ones that I can then save eggs from and hatch my own...... That'll fix me!!! Then DH can't say anything about my hatching addition! mooahhahahah!!!!! oops sorry! that was evil RAIMNEL!

Anyways everyone have a good day, DH will be home soon to work on the duck coop. Hopefully tomorrow I can paint??!!!!! hmmmm are we to be getting rain tomorrow?? Guess I gotta watch the news tonight.
OH raiquee, can I disown a certain family member too???? I can't do ANYTHING right in her eyes! I'm married with 5 kids a house and all the critters in my sig line and she still treats me like a kid to do her bidding! to drop everything and anything that I have to do to do something she wants. but I'M selfish! AAARRRRRGGGGGG! sorry for complains!

Dr. H that is the pickle recipe I use; it is fantastic! I can't make enough pickles to keep through to the next season, I usually run out by Feb.

LOL Dr Ha. Sorry shouldn't laugh but had to. Don't know what you have but it's pretty. Hello to all that are new!

pw30 most of my relatives live in Plymouth and Elkhart Lake.
Well had fun this weekend. Drank way to much. Evil cousins, who are 22 and 24, made me do it. Called me a wimp and an old lady until I did. Had a blast though. Sorry to hear about all the losses this weekend. Came home on Sunday and the cats have sores on their faces!? Don't know what it is. Any suggestions? One has it on his head and is red/crusty and the other is on his lip and is yellow and crusty. I'm thinking fungal for the one and allergies for the other. One has claws but the other doesn't so i don't think they were scratching each other. I think I'm going to deworm them and also give them a round of antibotics for good measure. We'll see what I can find online. Guess I can't go away without something happening. Also I came home and out of the 10 laying girls I have right now, 6 are broody!

BBCB 13 nights in a row really sucks but you already know that. Laugh all you want Bec I'm used to it. Pretty weird about the cats never seen or heard of that. Hope you find the answer! BL4 Glad to hear that about the pickles guess I'll keep using the recipe and eat store bought till there ready. Need to make bread this AM and go register the boat and pick up some things in Rapids. Looks most of the aft will be spent inside. Except for mowing. Stay

Dr H, don't count on that SLW to be a female yet. Those girls sometimes look rooish but aren't. Trust me. I even have one that fooled Buck Creek Chickens.

Sorry to tell you, there is no such breed as a Blue Laced Orphington. There are "Wyandottes" that are like that though. And they are beautiful. I have a pair for sale right now if you are interested. Just wanted you to know. And I have had several shipped eggs myself. And only one time did I recieve any that were broken and the sender was very cooperative and sent replacements.

Anyone want any Frizzles? They are mighty cute. My friend from Manawa has....4 black w/yellow and 1 black silkie. I'm getting that they are about a month old and she's loosing them to a Sparrow Hawk.

Then she also has an incubator hatching right now 4 out and 13 more to go. Let me know if you'd like any of these or know someone that would.

I have 2 of her Frizzles. They are both orange and OMG gorgous. I hear of the people who think that Frizzles are ugly. Wow! I love them. They have great temperments and are so soft. We named one of mine "Frank" even though I think she's a she.

She's got some really cool looking head feathers. My friend said I should have named her "Kramer" from Seinfield.

Here she is about a month ago already.

Anyways. Gonna be at the beach today. Enjoy!
