Annarie I always like the people picking field corn thinking it's all the same. Just had piece with lunch OOO so good! BFF was here with his DD Emily she loves to come and see the chickens and help gather eggs. I always wait if I know their dropping by. She starts a full day of school Wed. Today she helped me carry one of the chicks outside. THAT WAS REALLY COOL! To her.

Up at 3:30 it's nap time!

Just got a call from my sister - we drove by a church near our house last night and again this morning, and we noticed that they were setting up for a big funeral or wedding today.

My sister called to let me know that it's a funeral; for a guy I went to school with! He and a buddy were driving drunk the other night, crashed, and died. He was only 19 years old.

Geesh, lots of bad news the last two days!

Just finished cleaning out the Welsummer chicks cage, we re-bedded with shaving and boy are they having a blast in there! Of course the foster dog is very curious about what they are doing-has her face right up to the side watching! Waiting to hear when she will be leaving us-she is not warming up to DH at all and will bark, growl and sometimes snarl at him when he comes into the house or comes into the room from a different one. She does okay with the kids, but from time to time will bark/growl at DS(8) but is vey much a ladies only dog-poor thing spent her first 2 years in a puppymill and missed alot of the needed learning

, we try to be very careful with her and she is always under supervision. This will make it hard for the rescue to place her and they were hoping it would work for her to stay with us until that right home is found but it's been decided that she needs to be moved, which will be best all around-DD is not super happy with that thought because she gets along great with FRECKLES(the dog) but does understand why.

DrH if you nap now you'll be up early tomorrow morning!

What campground did you and your family run? We were thinking of going back to the Dells camping this spring. Which campgrounds are good ones?

I think I might take a nap today too. Oldest DS has orientation tonight.

One step closer to going back to school.

It's 90* here right now anyway. Not too horrible on the humidity yet. Told my boys they can play video games today. Too hot for them outside.

I got a new chicken today from "the Organic Mechanic's" wife, "The Frizzler". HE went to the swap in Amherst this weekend and got some AWESOME deals. Said there was hardly anyone there. Anyway, he picked up a couple young frizzle pullets. She GAVE me the white one.

I wanted a white on SOOOOO bad! She is really sweet too. Seems to get along with just about everyone.

The only thing is, she doesn't have the head feathers but I can live with that.

Anyways....think I'll take that nap now.

Good afternoon...now for something totally different: Just thought I'd show you guys some puppies I got the other night to foster!

There are 5 in all. Too cute! I have the mom too and another girl who "might" be pregnant. It will be busy here in the next few weeks!!! Terri O

Oh, it's just terrible - I just heard some more about that car crash - it was in Dellona on Saturday night. The car spun out of control at the top of a hill, hit a tree, and burst into flames. And there were two people in the car (they both died) - the passenger went to school with my sister, and he was only 17!

The friend I knew that was in that car was SO smart - from about kindergarten through fourth or fifth grade, we were always tied for the top students in our grade - I remember we both scored a college reading level when we were in forth grade, and they put the two of us and two other students in a special advanced class - just the 4 of us. It's such a terrible waste.

Fordmommy - My grandparents owned Bass Lake Campground, in Lyndon Station...about 8 to 10 minutes north of the Dells, away from the hustle and bustle. We had to sell when my grandma died (my parents split that same year - everyone was too emotionally exhausted to handle running the campground). It's still pretty nice (we still live just two driveways down the road from it!) - they put in a pool and a bar, so they don't do all the upkeep that we did to keep the ponds nice and clear and the beach areas nice and clean. We're right by a railroad crossing, so you hear the train a few times during the night. I grew up here, so I don't notice it at all, but we used to have campers complain about it. They have 7 really nice little sleeping cabins you can rent - my dad built all of those.

I cannot believe how well the two new White Calls are fitting into the existing group! I tried introducing the three older Calls from AlpineRanch in there a few weeks ago and they all fought like mad - to the point that I felt I had to separate them for their safety. But these guys were the best of friends right of the bat! And they're so rotund - it just makes me smile to look at them! (and those puppies made me smile too, Terri O! Oh - and I might finally have a real lead on a home for that beastly Shepherd of mine!)

Annarie, would it be possible for you to take pics of those ducks nect to a ruler of some kind? I would like to see how mine compare... oh and you were right about the one wild color one being a drake, he is getting his black/white feathers in now. Next time my Uncle stays at his place in Mauston I'll try to stay at your old campground; it sounds like a decent place to stay. I am so sorry about your classmate; I hate how this state is so focused on the consumption of alcohol! When we the adults learn to teach their kids how to drink responsibly and not at all underage! Such a waste of two young people......


TO, how did you get into fostering again???? Those babies woudl never leave my house I think! The kids would all want one to keep!

I keep hearing rumblings about my old place of employment........ nothing good of course so ha ha suckers!!!!

Actually we just filled out a foster application for a Aussie Rescue group so we may be fostering that breed too. DH and I decided that we miss the old grumpy one and having a buddy that played ball with us!

Annarie sorry to hear about your dad-hope he's on the road to recovery and also about your friend, we did hear that on the news.

Well all the critters are quiet for the night so time to go hold down the couch and leak check my eye lids!
