Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

LOL---well, that's why I tossed the 'shrooms! It is that 1% chance that I was scared of. DH said that I would've made him try it and he would have died of poisoning! Well, not really worth that chance...most of the time!

We're putting it in right now. DH just asked me to help him drag the new door over from the shed. I'll let you know tomorrow how it went.

Thursday Evening All.... Doc I'm bumbed that you got flooded...

I hope everything turns out ok after the water goes back to the creek. Hope the flock is ok too! I've got you in my prayers (you know you don't stand a chance then). Nothing but better stuff for you. Plenty on the to do list for sure, eh.
Finally have the nest boxes complete and moved to the coop with singing pullets. Becky, you would laugh at the design....glad I was able to make you laugh...
Welcome to the new cheeseheads. Good folks here!
Good to hear that you bbcb are having fun again....life is a test for sure.
Terri, we only lost 5 bags of squash, a big bag of cherries, and 4 packages of venzun that were still good to use right away.

The two flocks were finally joined today. It's still a project in motion....the java cockerals are huge. I've decided to try and keep two. I've culled 12. The three amigos had to go to freezer camp. It looks like I only have 3 buckeye cockerals. they develop slow,,but are gentle and nice.

Well I go in for my CT scan here in about an hour. Woke the chicks up since its still dark out...Its been a few months since I had chicks at home.
I have to get a heater in my critter room as my other one died.
I really hope I have a torn rotator cuff and get the surgery out of the way.. then I can finally make some progress in my rehab for my shoulder...
grrrr..
DID i mention grr yet.

Becky, you have BIG bantams.. I should get a pic of one of my eggs.. tiny tiny.
Hope Dr H. and L are OK... the flooding is bad.. and it looks like the DNR is going to do little to help.

Friday Fish Fry Evening To All...damp cool day today, I think fall is in the air.
The quail eggs are really small eh....steak and eggs with homade bread and jelly...heaven. My kids grew up eating pheasent eggs...small but just as nutrition laced as larger eggs. Crack a few more to get what's needed.
The flock is freaked with the changes....expected for sure. Hugo might be a manfighter....if that's the case, he's doomed for freezer camp too. Only the nice cockerals have the right to survive. You can be pretty, but you must be nice! I'm glad I have Harly too!

Make er a great week end. You know this is as good as it gets. ~ bigzio

Oh, oh. That doesn't sound very good. Hope you are okay. I'm debating on one of mine myself. He's fine with people though. Just not the nicest to the girls.

Hi everyone,

My order from McMurray came today. I received a total of 27 healthy happy chicks. I had ordered the Rainbow Layer special and they added an extra plus my free rare chick. I have no idea what any of them are though. The ad says that it includes breeds from all different sections and when I look at chick pics so many of them look alike. If any of you could take a look at my new chicks and give some guesses on what they are that would be great. I have a post in the "What breed" etc section. The Dominique chicks look just like the Barred Rocks, and there are a lot of chicks that look like chipmunks. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Good Morning- looks like it will be nice today, lots of things to get done here, this morning the kids have a 4-H training meeting and than this afternoon we will be getting a new foster dog-he's an Aussie so we are excited about that. Of course we will be working on the coop and hope to finish it and move the birds in yet this weekend.

If anyone is interested we have 2 blue Andalusian pullets(hatched in May 2010) and 1 mixed bantam pullet(hatched in Jan 2010) that we are looking to rehome, would like $5/bird-let me know.
