Well I talked to the doc today, good news and bad news...
They HAVE to do surgery, the good news is that its THIS weds, AND she is only replacing my ball joint/Humerous.. (I don't think its that funny though.. LOL) and
debriding the area and some other stuff.
The Ole fashioned way of doing it would be....
Take it ALL OUT.. all of it.. and pack in some antibiotic cement, for months.. My arm in a sling, muscles withering .. then open me up AGAIN..
and put all new hardware in.
I like the other option!!
I got two more whites from the lady who was selling them, as one of the ones I was going to keep disappeared.
We were clipping wings, and my barn owner's dog went into the old pump room and I heard a loud CLUCK...
IT had been close to 28 hours since the hen went missing, and we feard the worst.
I put her back in the QT pen, wings clipped and then went for my pre-op physical. Then called a friend whom we know has
several chickens. They recently lost two due to the neighbors dog.
SO I help a friend and and will get some cross bred bantam chicks in trade!

I will be off the puter for a couple of days. But hope to lurk while in the hospital, they have free wiifii

Good Morning Everyone! WCc that is good/bad news really hope all goes well and you return better than before! Good Luck! fm thems some biguns! Bettin on double yolkers. Yum! Bigz tilling the garden was on my fall list don't know if will happen or not. Hope so. Agree on the stupid pack/queens! And the sammy's were delish! Think there's enough for one more round. Repairman showed up yesterday both the fridge and freezer are more expensive to fix than replace so went and got a new fridge yesterday. Freezer will have to wait. BBCB don't you hate that. Unappreciative snots! They'll come around. Something new ya know. raimnel it's ok to talk to yourself, it's the arguements I don't like I always end up losing. A lot to do today

Thanks DrH I needed that this morning. First let me say, My chickens are picking on my leghorns combs so I separated 2 of the 3 girls. The 3rd girls comb is fine until..... I went to the coop this morning and found my 3rd leghorn girls almost dead on the floor, she died in my arms soon after and left her regards down my leg.

(sorry I have to laugh or I'll cry) I set her down to take a look at her and found that her behind was all dirty and found out that she had a soft shelled egg stuck.

how did I not see this yesterday? she was fine I think?! IDK so what the heck? how do I know if this is happening to a hen? OHHHH this ticks me off!

Hello all,

I had a TERRIBLE night last night. So we recently adopted a new 6 month old puppy and he is PERFECT. Well I let the dogs out to go to the bathroom and then had to take a phone call. They were outside for only about 20-30 mins. I go to let them back in and the puppy is gone!

We have a fully fenced in yard so I have no idea where he could be. I start calling for him and looking everywhere. He isn't the type of dog to run away he is always right by people and would be to scared to leave our other dog (they are like best friends and do everything together). So I call my sister who work for the humane society and she tells me she will check the shelter and while she is doing that I call the police department and sure enough one of their officers found him and brought him to the shelter.

I was happy that the police found him if he was actually running through town, but when me and my sister get to the shelter we look at his "arrest sheet" and I was so ticked. They found him right in front of my house!

I knew he wouldn't run away. He must have wandered in the front yard and he is the kind of dog that will go to anyone that calls him. So I'm sure the officer saw him called for him and then he ran to the officer. I'm sooo mad! So now I have to pay money to get my dog back when the stupid cop took him from my front yard!

oh good grief Gothchick kick him in the A@@ the cop that is, Tell him to drop it or you'll press charges for thieft! after all HE took the dog from YOUR property. some people. Anyways he did save it from getting hurt.

So sorry to hear about you hen Raimnel. I don't know how to prevent this but I hope someone does. Makes me want to double check everyone at night. Hopefully your day gets better. My day isn't much better, but for different reasons. It's the end of a school semester for me, you would think thats a good thing right? No! I think my professors try to cram everything that got missed into one week. I am only taking two classes, but with 2 subjects in each class, so really 4. I have 4 exams to take, 6 assignments to do, and because they are online, 2 discussions to do too. On top of that I have to complete a lab by Sunday and that takes 6 to 8 hours.

I'm so done with school! It should be better from here on out, but who knows.
Hope it doesn't rain this Saturday. Of course it's the only day they say it will. Will have to wait and see. Well have to get back to it. Take care all!
We are meeting on Saturday right? at 1 in palmyra right? Terri we could be there by 11 so if you want to ride and them meet up with FM at 1 we could. We just have to decide were to meet. I still have your number from horse fair, so I can call you too. Let me know!

Oh raimnel that's so sad! Sorry! I lost a hen that way too from what I've read there isn't a whole lot you can do but a few things you can try. The problem is catching it in time and that's not easy. GC that sucks about the cop, you'd think he would have come to the house. Maybe the puppy was out in the road, it just doesn't make sense. I'm sorry Becky but broke out laughing when I got to the part about " It should be better from here on out" again sorry just hope it's true and things are easier! Now go in the closet and have one. The spare bedroom floor is just about dry from cleaning!!!!!! From the ceiling to the threshold is CLEAN!!!!No more scraping!!!!

Now I can move all the stuff from the living room into there and do it. Can't wait, really looking forward to it!

Your not going to believe this! The BFF just called to tell me his cousin was hunting near Plainfield on land that his dad leased and a guy walked up to his stand and told him he was tresspassing. Tim [whom I've known since he was little] told him that his dad had leased the land and had permission to hunt it. The guy convinced him to come down and call his dad, while dialing the guy stabbed him in the back, literally! He ran and got in his truck and I guess the truck is totalled from hitting trees on the way out and got to a farm house with lights on but no one would come to the door. He passed out in the driveway in a pool of blood and someone finally came out and called 911. They air lifted him to Wautoma and the Dr said 1/16 on an inch and he would have been dead, just missd his spine and he just about bled out! The guy told him that his name was Konol and their looking for him. It's just unfreakin real!
