Sunday Evening To All.... A big welcome to you acerguy. Good folks here all willing to help and chat.
Gosh, I thought I was giving rock solid advice about the fence issues. amyable, maybe your right about the fat chickens being more ground worthy. I've never had a chook fly over my fences....

Good to hear that things are shaping up for you Doc. I'm sure you'll be glad when you can get other things done besides dealing with clean up issues.
Collected 6 pullet eggs today. All layed in the nests. I like that.

I have the packer hat on for the big game tonight. Go Pack....I sure wish Rodgers can beat Farve for the first time....

Thanks for the welcomes. BYC has been an incredible source and I wouldn't be doing this without it. We are having a great time with our five little fuzzy butts (now 2 mo. old). I will be needing to do a page on our chicken castle..er...I mean coop. Suffice to say that while I was designing it, a friend loaned us the full DVD box set of the Lord of the Rings. One thing lead to another and...well, we have a coop with a theme. Anything worth doing is worth over-doing I guess.

Well- I am posting on my new puter tonight. Still trying to get used to this bigger keyboard...not working too well! Dh figured out what the prob was with the Avatars and they are all back now. He had to uninstall and reinstall FireFox again...who knows?
I got the door built for the bachelor pad tonight and got them all moved in. There was only a tiny bit of squabbling and then they all went to bed. I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet...just wanted to make a little more room in the regular coop before winter. Roost space is at a premium in there right now.
The new puppies are also installed in their place too. More beagles! There is a run on them I think! The last 3 Moms I have had are beagles and their pups! At least they are cute...
OK--almost my bedtime...sleep tight everyone! Terri O

Farmer,
I would perhaps put some straw on the side that will get the most wind and snow blowing on it, and a 40 watt bulb, I think that would help the most.
But perhaps some one here can be more helpful.

Good Morning evryone! Glad to see the Pack beat the Queens finally and saw the end of the Badger game too! Both were quite good games. Yup WCc just the porches and the garage to straighten out then back to a semi normal life. After my call to Obeys office in DC I see the that the Bam man declared 9 counties disaster areas and Fema can now step in but I'm not holding my breath. The call went like this. Dave this Doc get Obamawancandoee on the phone. Bam this is Doc need some help man. OK Doc it's on the way. Didn't know you were affected otherwise it would have come sooner Sorry. Have a good one!

Hello all,

So my eggs are officially on lock-down. Sooooo nervous. I have a strong feeling that none of them will hatch. I can't stand my incubator, the temps are all over the place. I'm not sure if it is actually the bator or the stupid electric thermometer/hygrometer I bought for it. I tried testing the stock thermometer that came with the bator compared to the electric/digital one and the stock one seemed to test more efficiently and accurately. So I'm thinking that digital one is just messed up. I already had to toss one whole set of eggs because they had NO development at all on day 10 and I'm down to only 11 eggs out of the 32 I started with. Blah, oh well. I have some more eggs coming soon so maybe my next hatch will go better. I'm trying out quail eggs!

RAIMNEL- Lessons are expensive! I was lucky that my school had a great music program. Did you look for any group lessons? Sometimes you can find group lessons for half the price. I play the French Horn, Guitar, Percussion, Oboe, and Trumpet. So my parents had to find ways to afford my lessons. Luckily my first instrument was the French Horn and then the Oboe so once you learn those the rest are pretty easy. I only had professional lessons on the French Horn and the rest I studied and taught myself. Music is such a great thing and it will be worth it in the end!
