That is not too far from me...and my friends parents have several cottages on Green Lake...I agree-stop in and have a chat for old times!
I slept in today until 9:30! I am not feeling the best...and it's not from the tekillya last night either! We had a great time at dinner. The place is still the same but they have opened up 2 additional dining rooms. Tons of people there! Same food. Same menus. Only slightly higher prices! So anyhow...I have to take puppies in to Madison today and I feel like my head is a watermelon! Sore throat, the whole bit...it is a take it easy day for sure!
Really looks like winter out there now! The last rain and wind took down the rest of the leaves...now I am sad. I guess our nice fall cant last forever hey? Too bad about the snow DrH! At least if you have a little cover tracking will be easier next week! I kept thinking yesterday that I was so glad the temp wasnt any lower 'cause all that misty stuff would have been snow here!
Stay warm everyone...I still dont have my chimney done so it is oil heat for me.

Totally forgot about the Badger game yesterday, so, of course, it was PACKED everyplace we tried to go in Madison last night. We had reservations at Samba (the place is amazing) that got bumped back 2 HOURS...and then, of course, everyone wanted to walk around and hit all the bars around State Street after dinner (don't worry - they stuck me and the guy I was with at the "kid table" and kept an eye on us; he's old enough to drink, but I'm not - I never get carded, apparently I look older than I am...)...didn't end up getting home until 3:00, couldn't sleep until 5:00, awoke to the doorbell and the dogs barking at 10:00 because the neighbor girl's gerbil died and we were invited to attend the "funeral".

It was a good night though - totally worth the lack of sleep.

OOOH, and I have birds (Columbian Bantam Cochins, 2 pairs of them) shipping from Virginia and Vermont tomorrow! They should arrive on Wednesday!

Well gee Annarie--maybe you saw my daughters on State street last night! They went after the hockey game. DD24 and her BF couldnt get into the comedy club so they just met my other daughter on SS. I havent heard where they all went--I think they are all still sleeping! It sure is nice that you went to the "funeral" even though you were tired! LOL--Terri O

Do any of you live anywhere near Sparta or Tomah? We are planning on heading out that way soon to check out some land there. I have only been to the area once for a day and really, we were in La Crosse, so that probably doesn't even count. I am trying to make a list of things to check out and questions to ask.

I had a friend living up in Tomah, its nice, quiet.. if there are 2 Amish and a hay wagon.. its a major "backup" on the roads there, very quiet..
Big Walmart, lots of nice people, and a great Long John Silver's.
Oh. and a place I think that has a STEAK BUFFET!!! wowser's!!

Hey everyone,

My quail eggs should be hatching tonight or tomorrow! So excited! Anyone need any new bantam roos? I have 5 week old bantam chicks from Ideal and 3 of them are already very obviously roos. So I need to get rid of them. I have 1 OEGB, 1 White Frizzle, and 1 Blue Cochin Bantam. I am attempting to sell them on Craigslists but anyone that wants them on here can just have them. If no one ends up taking them I'm going to give them to my snake because I don't think I can hide roosters and I don't think I have the stomach to cull them. So my ball python will get to do it for me, but I would prefer to find them homes. Let me know!

MMMMM Annmarie... good one. I love Samba. i schedule my office Holiday party there every year. I have to make sure everyone is a carnivore! In case others have not been there, it is a Brazilian meat resteraunt. The waiters dressed up as gauchos walk around and have 5-8 different types of meat on sticks they slice some off for you and move on. All you can eat meat... oh and they have a huge salad bar with all kinds of salads and sides. YUM! Not cheap but lots of yummy food in downtown madison.

Ah that is where I have heard that name! We took myu parents to the Samba's in Milwaukee for their 50th anniversary. It WAS good! I didnt know that there was one in Madison too...I think I could have just had the salad bar! Lots of different food very artfully prepared. I wasnt sure what to expect but since my Dad is definitely a "meat and potatoes" guy we went there. My Mom was just happy to go downtown! (my DH just told me that it is Sabor in Milw.) Same kind of thing though.
Have any of you looked at the new recipe thing here on BYC? I am going to submit some of my recipes on there...

I hope they get all of the recipes switched over there! It is so hard to search for them and there are a TON of good ones on BYC.
Tonight I am having a popcorn dinner

...I love having it on Sunday. DH made himself some cube steaks and LO mashed/gravy and carrots. He made all 3 of them and "someone" stole one right out of the pan! (no it wasnt me) I swear, the man just doesnt LEARN how to live with cats! You MUST cover things or put them away! I guess he would rather yell...ah tomorrow the quiet starts again....

I guess I better go out and close up the critters...dont want any more to go missing! Did I tell you guys that when I was looking for Stuart the other day and turned over an old wheelbarrow decoration....underneath I found one of my hens, still in her apron with wing protector "dress", devoid of most of her meat and all of her feathers? It was my only SLW hen too! Darn it all anyhow!
Have a great night and sleep tight! Terri O
