Good Morning All! Back is much more better Bigz. It was weird don't know what I did but it was obviously wrong. Hope your hatch goes well BCC and to all who are trying. Got a catalog from Meyers yesterday, went through it twice, now having bad thoughts.

They had chicken related car window stickers at the back. The one I liked was an outline of a roo and said My alarm clock doesn't need batteries. Good to hear from you thebritt it's been too long! Stop in more often and let us know how your doing. Got 9 eggs yesterday 6 poult eggs out of 5 slw poults. What Good Girls! Have a good one!

Doc I'm with you on the back thing. I never know from day to day whats going to happen with it. Knock on wood, it's been pretty good lately...but that can all change in an instant.

BCC congrats on the win! Yah, your girl had it going away. Absolutely beautiful bird.

We had a nice quiet Christmas, and I agree with you TO, that's my favorite kind...Mom's daughters went to their dads, so after a big Xmas eve family event we snowshoed around the farm, had a big fire going most of the day and just kicked back. I love those days, a nice respite from work, work, work.

I decided to get some cracked corn from F&F, they had it on special, and the birds love it. So they are getting a winter mix of layer mash, BOSS and cracked corn. All the birds seem healthy and we continue to average about 10-12 eggs per day. I know the big T5 fixture I put in the hen house has helped, I really think it keeps their spirits up.

I've got my fingers crossed on a job that might be coming my way. I went through two interviews a few months ago for the job, and according to them, I was #2 in a large group. Well, it turns out the guy they hired can't hack it, so they called me and want me to come in and sit down with them on the third of January. This job pays way more than both my FT and PT job put together, so it would allow me to get back to a sane work schedule at a job I think I'd really enjoy. I'm not getting my hopes up because I was let down before, but it would be nice.

Good morning all! That back thing is the same here...dont know what I do or when it will act up; but I sure hate it when it does! Good luck on the job BBCB! It would be nice for you to get on a "normal" schedule...for you and for us! "Cause then we'd hear more from you!

So do those of you working have off this week? My DH used to take this week off all the time when the kiddies were small. THey are on the end of a job though so he had to work this week this year...he is sad because it is the first time in a long time that he couldnt take off. Two weeks vacation and he took 1 DAY all year! Although they did 10 hour days in summer so he always had 3 day weekends! Poor guy

thank you on the congrats, cloudy is my favorite hen. I'm going to start hatching the Mahogany faverolles to start with, last year I had an infertile roo, found out which one so lets see how good the other guy is in his duties, plus any MFCochins that I get.

Hey guys!

Went to visit my dad today, had a very uplifting financial conversation with him. I always feel like I have my head screwed on right when I talk to my dad about money. It's nice to bounce my financial ideas off other people.

I am applying for WIC and WHEAP (heating assistance) probably today or tomorrow. I looked at WICs requirements and don't know why we were denied before?? So I figure i'll try it again! Worth a shot.

DH had applied to work at WE energies and they sent him an e-mail saying they want him to take an assessment test. That means his application is still floating out there somewhere! Send good vibes our way guys, if me and DH can be working in the beginning of the year, well i'll be so happy I could cry! Plus this would be a very good career type job for him. Something he needs!

BBCB) Good luck! I know how it feels to have that hope tugging at your heart, wanting the job so bad! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Good Afternoon All... good to hear that the back is feeling better Doc. I still use a back brace for alot of different chores. Really makes a huge difference after certain chores.
Good luck with the job hunts. Hope 2011 turns out to be the best for everyone!
Just got home from renewing the health insurance. Now I'm up to a $10,000 deductable for $540 a month. One use to be able to lock your premium in for 3 years. Now with the new laws, it's a year by year process. I could drive a new pick up if it wasen't for health insurance.

Gotta pay for early out, that's for sure. Having my life is priceless though, just sayin.

My eggs are in demand for sure. I'm collecting 4 doz a week, and never have more than 2 doz in the fridge at one time. That's a good feeling for sure. They are all given to family and friends. You know they say that anything given will come back ten fold....

Suzie is baking pumpkin pies from heirloom squash to share with the kids and jennies neighbor that takes care of her sidewalk without her asking....I love pumkin pie.

Good evening everyone hope you all had a great Christmas.
The kids had a ball opening their gifts and its kind of nice they are getting older (less toys to trip on) the wife has them outfitted in all the latest styles it looks like.

another one of my pullets started laying yesterday!!!! one of my speckled sussex thats about 19 weeks old so i was pretty excited. Still havent got them trained to lay in the nesting boxes i got 4 from the roosting boxes today but we are getting closer i guess.

went out to close the coop up tonight and just as i walked into the pen a cat came hauling a$$ out of my coop!!! it was moving too fast to tell but i think it was the cat i had been seeing around when my silkies went missing. All of my birds were ok but they were scared pretty bad when i looked in they werent making any noise or moving at all but at least there were none hurt.

DRH i can relate on the back i blew mine out in 04 and had surgery on it . it is pretty good now but i wouldnt wish that on anyone

Good Morning Good People! BCC have always loved the MdF she deserved to win congrats again! cd I was eyeballing the speckled sussex in the catalog they have all the traits one could ask for. Bigz my dad gave me a brace years ago always thought they were usless until I started wearing it making wood your right they really makes a big difference. TO forgot to tell you that when we went through the 90-94 split in Madtown that I beeped and waved to the east. Laura looked at me like what the heck are you doing? I said I was waving to TO! She laughed and said hi TO. Raiquee vibes have been continually sent, hope it all comes together for you guys! BBCB it must be nerve racking with the possiblity of this job. Man that would be so great if it works out.

Heading over to the BFF's this morning to help him cut up a big doe that got smucked on the highway. He had to put her down the hind qtrs were busted and the cops wouldn't go into the woods to dispatch her but he had an extra bow tag. Says it's his burger deer so cutting will go quick. Said she's big her nose is in the rafters and her feet are still on the floor. Maybe it won't go so quick. Better get my chores done before he calls. Have a good one!
