I'm not hatching turks this year, but have you tried looking at Porters turkeys, min is 15, but I think if you order assorted they are $10 or less, i think. i've got 15 sweetgrass ordered

what are you looking for,just a meat turk, your local co-op has bronze from sunnyside I've had them a good bird

Looking for a meat bird mainly. May keep a couple around for eggs or just to have in the yard.

I checked that website, but they only ship April - Aug. If we dont get them until April, they wont be big enough for Thanksgiving. We need a 20lb bird minimum to feed the family!

I'm not too specific on types of turkeys I guess. Something nice to look at and that arent mean.

I know my co-op orders from sunnyside too. I never thought to look at their catalog.

if you get BB white or the Bronzes from the co-op you will have enough time to get them that large, I've done it, one was over 30lb

I've got a kid who rides my bus (good kid), lost his call ducks, the hen was lost to an owl that broke through the top wire in the run, took out the call hen and one of his crested ducks, the male call, we think died of broken heart, they had been a pair of a long time, he is also looking for a pair of runners, he prefers fawn, but? anyone have any to sell?

Hey All,
I will have to share my fun with tires and rims for my car, but tomrrow.

I do want to ask if any one here would be willing to take in a OEGB pair, and if any one would be interested in a slightly bald WCB polish (standard) rooster.
Was hand tame, not very trying or mean.
I want to keep his odd ball son, and of the 4 OEGB's I got, 2 are hens, 2 are roose, Still maturing, but one hen seems to be laying already.

Ok I've been asked to help plan a urban poultry workshop, what is a workshop?

It depends on how they want it demonstrated. Some are hands on, like the craft things we did as kids. Some are a lecture type of thing. Some are both.. or are a tour type of thing.
A workshop on chickens would have a thing printed up on the subject, with helpful tips, local ordinances and web links to places for ordering chicks or chickens. What types of coops
work best in an urban environment..
Basically teaching people what you know about urban chicken keeping, and HOW you got your knowledge.
The hands on would be bringing in a chicken for them to see and pet, going to peoples houses to see their coops.
Lecture type is with pics, and hand outs, and again, having something they can take home to help them get started with their own coops.
There is usually a charge and I think.. it covers cost of print outs, renting the space, and possibly getting a little money yourself.
