wish i could get the hose out by my ducks, right now they are playing in the puddles.

here's my newest serama chick, 'she' was hatched on 2-24 and that is a quarter by her feet

Day 18 for me here. Added water for humidity at 11 am this morning. 3:30pm we have TWO pips!!!

We're going to have babies tonight!!!

Sorry for not checking in this morning, yup TO sore and tired. And I did type that wrong, BFF went home that night. Lights came on at 3AM today and the wheels were turning. Haven't had time to catch up on reading posts and too tired right now. I'll read and respond later. The plumber figures 3 more hours tomorrow. Have an indoor toilet and hot and cold to the kitchen sink right now. He appologized for not getting the drain for the shower done today. I told him well your the one who has to work with me so if you don't mind the stink neither do I. Also told him I was going to work real close with him tomorrow as an in-scentive.

I need sleep!

Dang Doc- Nothing quite as "fun" as remodeling, especially when it involves plumbing as well. Good to hear things are going ok so far.

Brrrrr TO that makes me cold just looking at those ducks! hey TO maybe you could take that hygrometer out for over night to calibrate it?! I would. and as far as the different temps wouldn't they be different if they're in 2 different spot in the 'bator? or is that not right if you have a fan??? IDK I do know that I will rotate all the eggs so that the eggs close to the light can get away for a while!
My 'bator temps are still wonky?! running 95-100? and they were so good before I added the eggs. You guys, I'm am SOooo horrible, and My DH isn't any better! lol we have the coolest eggs being laid, there green but the size of silkie eggs! OF course I have a hen that is silkie/EE and of course I added more eggs to the 'bators!

I'm up to 133 eggs in there and I can only fit 130, I got those 3 eggs riding on top of the other eggs waiting for a spot of their own. LOL I can't help it, those 3 eggs are silkie and out of the other 130 eggs only 5 are sikie! :sigh: I'm so bad.

TO, is that a duck or a goose!!!!

I let mine play in the mortar mixing tub when it was warmer out...... those dumb boys were trying to drown the one female I swear! She could barely make it up for a breath before they had her under again..... and then the girls were on top of her too!!!!

Our dog dish 'spa' heater died so it was off to Fleet to get the duckies a new hot tub; those boneheads were splashing around in their drinking water trying to bathe and were emptying the thing out every day!

Since I had free time today, I FINALLY managed to pick up my DS birthday presents! I went to Scheels and got one of those camel back things and some new lights for his bike. He was very happe to see both items, now he can go off-roading mountain biking with my cousin's DH!

Ok so got a question: I have a rat again. Finally have my egg production over 1 or 2 and then they move back in. So I set a trap and will hope for a kill tonight. My question is if I put poison out (where the animals can't get it) and the rat dies out in the open, will it harm the other animals if they eat it? I'm thinking of doing the poison and then the bucket of water so they drown. I really don't want to do poison, but I really do not want to lose anything else to those nasty things. Suggestions are welcome.
Also wanted to post these pictures. They are a couple of chicks I hatched last year. Dad is my silver pencil and mom is a barred. Both are cochins. I think they are really cool looking and are going to try for some of my own this year. Enjoy! Have a great night everyone!

Evening All and thanks again for the pics you guys.....Suzie's grandma use to always bury those kitty pools in the ground, so they would last longer....never did figure out how she freshened the water in them...but they lasted forever....

Good thing you're taking a rest Doc... You'll need them party shoes before long, and then you'll need another rest. Sure is fun though eh!

Jim... I think I need a nephew like you have.... mine all like fish....

Thanks for all the pics. So cute and funny.

JVLS my Dad slides out of bed too. He is in a home and they have a short bar on the bed but he gets out. They also tried a body pillow and he still gets out, so they put the bed very low to the ground and put a mattress on the floor. At least he has a soft landing. God bless you ! the nephew lied,, the northern was not 40 inches,, it was 39".
i gleaned out 4 pounds of boneless filets.. there sure is a lot of waste on a northern..

I found a rat hole today.. I was pretty sure I had one because something ran across my foot one night when I was locking the coop door.. I only got a glimpse of it.. they say , if you see one,, there are a hundred that you don't see..

when my English teacher used to say," who are" they?"" I would say, "my two uncles".. LOL

the poison in a rat probably would not be the best for your animals etc.. hopefully it would die inside your house wall so the animals could not get to it...LOL we had a mouse die up inside a couch one time.. wheeoooeeee!!!!!


Schwann's man was here today.. He said that Schwann's is not going to continue selling any kind of ice cream other than vanilla, in the buckets anymore.. I told him that's too bad.. I will have to buy my ice cream from somewhere that does.. I need those buckets... LOL

Susie, we had rails on Mom's bed at one time.. she thought she was trapped on a railroad track and crawled off.. I'm not kidding..LOL
