Happy Fish Fry Friday All.... sorry about your loss Raiquee. Losing grandmoms is tough for sure.

Glad the mail arrived Doc...hope the aprons fit goody for your women! Mine love them and never take them off!

Good Luck with the coop Jim....hope annie keeps a close eye on the bator while your gone. Always something due at your place this time of year!

I'll take the last slot for getting the garden in this year. Just ment to be. A slow start means a good finish I'm hoping!

Flat tire on the ranger today. Good thing is...it was sitting in the driveway. My son stopped for some eggs...he got the nod

That was good timing for a change.

Evening everyone!

Well, I started to get the brooder situation tackled but came in the house to get a drink of water and ended up watching tv! Then dh came home and we went to the library and Famous Daves BBQ. I love their brisket! Made up for this yuckie day of rain.

So, here are some pics:

This is Buzzy the Pheasant:

The chickens enjoying the great outdoors in their new digs: In the very back, the white chicken is my Aseel Super Glue, then the Red Sex links (Gold Comets or Production Reds as TSC called them-possible Amberlinks?) From there, the rest of the chickens are the Barnevelders and the Orloffs. The one in the front with the half brown half white is the the Orloff that dh likes. I think that is a roo and he has way to much white to show. But since the DH likes him and since dh enables me I figured that we would keep that one. I ended up with three Orloffs out of 45 and I think two are roos!!

I took some pics of their new run but they suck. I'll take better ones tomorrow and post them.

Oh my gosh what a day! Up at 5:30 and off to Brookfield! Sit for 6 hours in a meeting and then back into the car............

Raiquee, I am so sorry about your grandmother....... it is never easy even if you are prepared for it. Frenchie, so sorry about your parents too, and the baby chick.

Checked the call nest and I think I have a quitter; there is still veining going on but I did not see any movement of the duck. There is a black spot on the shell too, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the condition of the chick or not.

Eggs in the incubator are looking good; I should know by the end of next week who is good and who is bad.......

Sweet Folly; are calls decent mammas???? Should I separate the mamma and babies from the rest of the ducks?????

Pretty tired, too much vino last night and too much driving today....... Jim you let me know if you prefer white, red, dry, semi-dry or sweet and I will see what I can cook up for you.......

Have a good evening all!

AH--back from the plant sale and grocery shopping...Now I am really beat and I need to go out (in the rain) and lock everyone up for the night. I guess I will wear my headlamp cause I am betting the 5 little chicks are UNDER the coop instead of IN it! It just feels nice to sit for a while...I am having a glass of sherry with my pinky sticking straight up!

Of course I brought home more plants than I took to donate! Now I have to find places for them all! Got some pretty neat sedums though...some for outside and some for inside too. I am anxious to get working in my flower gardens...I like to get the veggies in first though....
Well I suppose I ought to get outside and close up...sweet dreams to all! Terri O

(PS) Sorry about the losses lately...we sure seem to be having our share!

I'm going to be going over to my mom's tomorrow, and I'm going to find out the brand name of the trumpet and everything and do my own research on it. All I know is that they went to a music store here in Baraboo. But I've never been to that store or anything. I heard from my grandpa tonight that this band teacher was "exceedingly rude" about it. So we'll see. It would have been easier if she'd just played the flute like the rest of us girls did (I'm the eldest of 4 girls
smile.png
) - I have a beautiful Gemeinhardt flute that I just had re-padded a few years ago (back when I thought I was still actually going to play it....which never happened
roll.png
) that I would have given her.

Anyways, the house showing today must have gone well, because we heard from the realtor tonight, and the same family wants to come back and see the house again on Sunday!

I have finals to study for. My psychology final is tomorrow, and then I have a final in heredity on Wednesday. And then (besides a couple of final papers I have to write for some other classes) I'm DONE for the semester. Still trying to decide if I'm going to register for classes next fall, since we're not 100% sure where we'll even be living! But my fingers are crossed that if the family that looked at the house today ends up making a decent offer on this place, we'll be able to get the 11-acre place we've been looking at in Oxford.

SF, you will do just fine!

For both finals and house!

Off to work, the birdies are chirping and coffee is done.....

Later everyone!

Good morning Cheesies. Off to the Seymour swap soon. If anyone else is going, I drive a white Hyundai Sonata and will be pushing a brown stroller with a chub-faced little boy

He's 9 months today!

Oh man, coffee sounds great.....myabe I have time for a pot to brew? I drink it about once every two months. DH hates it, but it smells soooo good. Happy Saturday All!

Howdy everyone!

Wish I were going to that swap! Instead, it's off to Woodman's once I finish my coffee and put the birds out. Son #2 graduates from Madison tomorrow, and I've got some cooking and baking to do for the party at his house!

It's actually okay with me the weather stinks......'cause I'd have to bake/cook/AND put in the garden if were nice out

Well, one of these days.....

Question: do chickens lay a LOT fewer eggs during their molt? My ducks have cut back so much, I'm going to have to buy eggs since I won't have enough of the duck eggs for my customers otherwise. My Pekin is missing so many wing feathers, and has so many pin feathers coming in, that she looks like an overgrown baby bird with stubby wings and a fuzzy head.

Enjoy the day everyone!
