Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

taking a break.. I got out early and did some rototilling in the garden.. the new motor is sweet.. I have to come up with a patent for a one sided potato hiller for the tiller, or else a two sided one for the Farmal A.. I have some ideas, but I cannot weld anymore.. my eyes are too bad..

have some eggs to toss and some others to transfer to the hatcher.. on the 9th the first batch of peafowl eggs are due..

TO, hope you get your critter soon.. You know they never show up while you are ready and waiting, right?

H&r, we have about a dozen roos that are headed for freezer camp real soon.. Annie wants to keep one of the barred rocks..

I wish I knew a 4H kid who wanted a great looking BlueLacedRed Wyandotte..
maybe an add on craigs list will find somebody..

Well I think I saw my little punk rock chick crow this morning so it has to go. Free. Pickup in Madison, preferably by Sunday. Any takers? Please PM me & let me know when you could pick up. (It's the one in the background of the first picture.)

I also have a beautiful white silkie rooster from my first hatch this year that has to go, too. Since I have chicken count dementia, I need to downsize the noisemakers before someone turns me in. If you have a couple of blackberry plants or fall bearing raspberry plants to barter for the silkie that'd be cool - but if not that's okay, too. Willing to let him go for free just to find him a good home. I'd prefer this one not be turned into soup. I've already gifted one beautiful splash roo to Carol so I'd like to share the rooster wealth (ha ha) within our online community before posting on Craigslist or contacting the Humane Society. Any takers? Please PM me and let me know when you can pick up. Pickup in Madison, preferably by Sunday, too.

It'd be awesome if someone wanted both - probably unlikely, but weirder things have happened!

Again, I'm hoping to have them both gone by Sunday at the lastest (hubby's getting cranky.) Thanks. Elaine

Elaine Sounds like your rooster hatch rate is as good as mine !! I think I might need to start a rooster rescue !! Good luck finding them homes !!! I have tons of Roosters too and nobody wanted any at the bash so.......... Hope your luck is better then mine. Until I can rehome mine they're eating good !!!!!

Jim- what color peafowl are you hatching? The problem is when DD started last year we had most of her cockerals die and so we had to re-stock so to speak but of course we have at least 1 roo of each breed that we have(5 total) plus 1 back up and now from hatching several more back ups- ahhh chicken math at work- I think DH stopped counting

or he's hoping we don't ask for an addition to the coop he built last fall..... although another run would be nice

I did not just say that

We listed some of the extra on craig's list and someone who is 4-H or FFA came and picked up a couple. Looking through the flock we have at least 3 girls to get rid of as they are laying flock material only and as much as I have no problem keeping them- we have to have room for the ones the kids take to fair

Of course I have my breed too(one of the five) but they aren't recognized yet so the kids(especially DD)can't lay claim to those!

take the birds that you want tested to the lady and tell her that is all you have..

Ok, I spotted him. Didn't recognize him without his hat. Plus I was looking for a grey haired guy since his beard is so Santa-ly colored !!!

Wish I could have talked with your neighbor TO- that's what I get for getting there so late.

I'm looking for a 1 yr old peahen. I have two peacocks and only one hen !!

Just saw an ad on Craigslist for adult Guineas if anyone is interested and doesn't want to wait for the to grow up. Instant tick control !!! That really sucks, losing your guineas. I think I have lost one or two, can't remember how many I started with, get the numbers mixed up with how many ducks I started with
he.gif
I figure I lost 1 for sure. I thought maybe she was sitting someplace and would come out one day with some keets but nothing yet.
Mine were raised with chickens so they go in one of the truck campers at night. At least for the most part I think.
At first we had them in a coop and it was pure Hedoublehockey sticks getting them in for the night !!!

TO, love your torts !! (can't spell the full name) ! Reminds me of a pet shop in Racine that had a huge one walking around !!! He was adorable !!
love.gif
I love turtles. I feel so bad when I see them run over in the spring during breeding season !!! I've stopped on Hwy 8 to help a snapper cross the road !! And to think some people run them over on purpose !!

Can't say I'd love your snake though........ Had I of known you are a snake person ........................................

Well, now that the mistery is solved and I now know where to find Waldo... I mean Dr Haha, I can get to work !!!!!

Celtic, Thanks for the tip !!!

No problem, FT. As soon as someone mentioned his beady little eyes, I spotted him right away!

Speaking of Mr. Beady-Eyes,

That would be the picture he paints of himself, actually. He is always telling me, "they are your hobby, not mine. I just take care of them in the winter for you". Mmmm, hmmm. Whatever you say, sweetheart.

He also tells me I have more than enough chickens & don't need any more, but when I mentioned that I still wanted a couple of lav. orps & dominique pullets, he asked me what the adult lavs look like.

I love my hubby so much! He is as big a sucker for animals as I am.
Dornes, those pics are awesome. Great lighting. And Mrs. Clucky has some really long legs!
lol.png

Jim, your tractor is a Farmall? I love those IH's. You & Steve would have been talking for hours!

We have a super C. Excellent piece of machinery!
Elaine, let me talk to my sis & get back to you on the roos. She loves silkies. Is the other one a banty?

Oh and Welcome back Loadsofeggs !! Buy the way, you don't have enough chickens. We'll help you out. Need some roosters???

We do need more chickens but hens not roos, Thank you tho
