Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

well I chucked 35 bales tonight.. of those 7 are dry, the rest are wet some where on them.
Now my bad shoulder is aching badly I have taken a pain reliever and muscle rub and put on a heat pad and then an ice pack...
Then on my good shoulder and now the heat pad is on my back. I still have 15-20 bales left to move tomorrow.
So now my body is a wreck, I still have to work ALOT this week.. bleh.
Yeah me? lol
I truly hope some one steps up and returns the puppy.
Kristi.. let me know if you need any help with the clean up!

And TO, you didn't call me?? Well hurrumph.. LOL

Carol... you have enough going on. I just spent part of the day staking plants up again and when hubby got home, we got the swingset vertical again. Needs some new support beams in places, but should be able to fix it. Just takes convincing the kids it may be a week or two before they can use it. Hope Friday still works with you to get together with you and your niece.

Hoping you hear good news on the puppy. It is sad that can happen.
Hope everyone else is doing ok!

evening, my turn to accidently leave the peacock out.. I was putting the rooster in, when that d@mn Tommy decided to pick a fight with it.. I stepped in between but the rooster ran toward the garage and when I chased Tommy the other way, the peacock just walked out and went to the geese.. and then he went PAST the geese.. It was dark and he disappeared into the night.. I made a swing around the mosquito infested yard but could not see him.. So the rooster is in the garage somewhere and the peacock is hopefully high in a tree and I am in deep do do if he does not show up in the morning..

Hi there,

You don't have to give a big reward. When they deliver the dog hand them $10-$20. That's a big reward for a kid. In fact you don't have to list an amount when you offer a Reward. Same with microchip. The idea is to get peoples attention that may be keeping her. Give them a little bit to worry about, like you aren't going to give up until you find her etc.

Not that it would be the same at all but what about getting your daughter a kitten or young cat for a companion until the baby is a bit older?

That is a good idea to have a dog around while you're home alone with the kids. Keeping my fingers crossed that she shows up.

FrenchToast- We do have cats and another dog. My daughter loves the cats and one of our rescue boys is her cat. The problem is that she wants something she can call and take for walks. She attempts to walk the cats but it doesn't go so well. We also really liked the idea of having a dog in the house as a security system. Even if the dog wouldn't do anything the barking/growling would give be enough time to figure out what was going on and hopefully get to the children and call 911 if needed. Our current dog is strictly outdoors because he has some aggression issues with stuff that he believes is his. He has never shown any aggression to our daughter but once he hit 2 years old he began trying to attack the cats and there was a close call where my daughter was next to the cat and our dog almost bit my daughter while going for the cat. After that incident we decided he would do better as an outdoor dog. He loves being outside anyway and he has a huge fenced in yard to roam in and he goes in the garage. Also we bring him in the house in the back room at night. The problem with him being in the back room is that even if someone comes in he doesn't bark unless he sees them and someone would get to us long before they would alert him. We also can't take him for walks because he is aggressive towards certain dogs and people don't think. We have had so many close calls because people would be walking dogs and they would start growling and barking at my dog and then he goes nuts. When it was just me I could hold him back, but he weighs a little over 200 pounds and I can't hold him and a stroller if something happened. It's really put me in a sticky situation.

WOW that is a big dog !! Sorry, I didn't see it in your signature that you already had cats and that HUGE DOG !!! I'll bet he is a real cutie though. Got Pictures?

Anyone in their right mind would stay away if they knew that big fella is in the house at night. I feel real secure with my big dogs. We have two Great Pyrenese (never can spell that for some reason). One stationed at each door. They choose to be outside as well. They pant and get to hot in the Winter and want to be outside in the subzero temps. We know as soon as anyone pulls into the driveway. They are our doorbells. Acdtually we will know when anyone drives down the gravel road !!

They're kinda like Guineas, you have to get used to their barking !! They bark all night long at the deer and ??? comes thru the yard. Different kind of bark when they are actually protecting us. But they are really two big giant marshmellows

There are alot of nice homeless dogs out there. I'm sure the right one will come along. Until then is there a way for you to keep the cats seperate from the dog at night when he is in the house so he can come into the house? Maybe keep the cats in the bedroom, basement or ???

How are you at Math ? There is a prerequisit (sp) to be on the Cheesehead thread you know. If you know MLH then I'm sure you qualify !!

Are your turkens LF or bantams? I have the bantams, I love those little shavers !!

Thank you! Oh goodness, Math!

not so good in that department, will some knowledge of Latin make up for it? My two turkens are LF. Noctem, the black one is a well-behaved girl, but Iris, the reddish one? Such a little trouble-maker, that one. She's a sweetie; just loves attention, but she's always trying to get into things she shouldn't.

I could possibly try keeping the cats somewhere at night... I will have to talk to DH and see what his says. Normally we don't allow him in the house because she gets too hot and sheds like CRAZY! At night we keep him in the back mud room area so its just got a screen door and is basically like being outside and doesn't get very warm. We don't have air conditioning in the house and our boy is the same way your dogs are. He loves cold weather and pants when he is inside and barks at the door to go out. Otherwise he NEVER barks when people come. He could care less about people but if another dog gets close he lets us know. Which doesn't help much. LOL! He's a bit goofy. He has the Saint Bernard hair so he gets overheated really quickly. I love GPs and always wanted a GP and a Newfoundland. I thought they would look so neat together. My dream dog is an Irish Wolfhound or a purebred Harlequin Great Dane. I like giant breeds because they are normally low energy. DH wants a Doberman terribly but he is never home and I know I would get stuck training and working with the dog and I don't have the time or energy for a dog like that. I've always been told they are really high energy dogs and if they don't have an outlet for their energy they can get aggressive and I can't risk an aggressive dog with my children. I'm thinking if we don't find out puppy I might look into adopting an older dog. I love old dogs that just want to lay around and be loved.

AAARRRRRGGG!!!! Computer made page go POOF again!!!

Jim.... Thanks for the info on the keet colors! Sounds like they're going to be very pretty! Too bad you can't tell the colors. Man I hope for your life that peacock shows up! Well, if you have to sleep in the coop at least see if you can have a cot.

Dr.H....
Now have sparegus neck.

Dose that mean it's green too?

Never snip the one in the crotch!

Sounds like a life lesson to me!

non... hope your birds get better soon!

GC...If you can't find the puppy, may you find the perfect dog!

TO... That guy sounds way too freaky! I hope no one sold him birds! If he did really want them for eating though I would think there were easier and cheaper ways to get them. Do you know if the other birds he was trying to buy got ribbons? Show birds? Not much money in it. Weird, really weird.

Dornes....
There's tons of weirdos out there.... And they walk among us.

So very true!....Pretty ducks!

WCC.... Hope your hay dries soon.... b!tch you have to re-bale it though.
hmm.png
Man I wish I could get half as much done as you! I can't even lift a bale anymore! (I can drag 'em a bit!
tongue.png
) Wow! you missed the bullet on that gas/diesel mix up! Hope your aches and pains get better soon!

kris.... Hope you can rebuild that swing set for the kids soon... and cheap! Glad it missed the coop!

Well, it didn't storm real bad here, I guess south of here got hit harder. I sure wish we got more rain with it!
Went down to the coop after the rain ( rained about 10:30 am here) to pack up Jasmine and the babies to take to the tractor. She met me at the screen door! I don't know if I left the latch unlatched to the brooder cage or if she got upset during the storm and shook it loose. Anyway, when I tried to catch them to put them in the pet taxi one of the chicks got out.... she panics and runs after it.... the rest fallow! So they are running around the yard but the other chickens come to investigate. Jasmine freaks and tries to fend them off but she's out numbered! I grab a screen window and put it between her and the chicks and the others. I finally started to move her and the chicks toward the small run and get them in.... Safe!

clap.gif

I'd let her go in there with the babies all the time but I need it for the chicks and keets that will go in the small coop.
hmm.png
If the ones I got from Jim were younger she might be ok with being there with the other ones, but Her's hatched the Tue. after the bash.
