I'm done for the day except for... The bedroom is gutted am gonna give it a day to air then reinsulate and drywall, wait have to rewire it first. Hope I remember that. Jim sorry to hear about your roo but at least you now know. TO got a half an inch in about 10 minutes, man it poured! HWMP WELCOME!!!! Got all the vegies in their places, told L that the rest of the house/day was hers. Can't hardly turn my head from from reeffin on the plywood.

Having L's now famous chicken wraps tonight, had em last night, I want MORE! Tomorrow is rehome some scrap crap and pick berries. I gotta go I'm tired.

Been without power since 8:45am. And of course I got eggs in the bator due to hatch on Tuesday.

Thank goodness I got that plug in thingy for my truck last year. I just stick that in the ciggy/lighter and plug in my cord to that and vahla......power on again. But I still had to start my truck every couple hours to not run down my truck battery AND... I had to turn the bator itself so the eggs would be turned. Only ONE plug in.

But all good and back to normal. Power goes out only ever when I have my bator going.

Cursed I guess.

And I gotta tell you that my house stays really cool even in this weather with no central air on. It only got to 71* in here.

Toasty good afternoon all. I see that once again the weather guy lied to us about the rain

I told DH he was lying but he never believes me and I have a better average than the highly trained, highly paid weather people! Spent yesterday at Noah's Ark at the Dells, sheesh, what a place. Poor kids only got to ride 3 or 4 rides in 4 hours due to the long lines. I usually don't go to water parks, but it was too hot to work outside and we ordered very basic tv, which leaves little options and there are no small indoor projects for me to tackle at the moment, so I went along, much to the chargrin of my DH's credit union manager, you remember the lovely lady who was visiting and who's daughter is staying with us til Friday.

Rod said if he didn't have to be at the airport friday to pick up someone on Friday (and drop the two visiting teens off to fly home) he'd take them and drop them off today! They are horrible. Neither will eat anything and both think we are to run out and buy them the things they will eat. They don't answer or even acknowledge you when you speak to them and they both walk around with the most sour looking pusses you can imagine. They are without a doubt most delightful!

I said the good part is they never have to visit us again and he said "no, they never will!! And next year when the mother is in the area we'll be in pango pango or somewhere we aren't doing this again.!"

H&R, thanks for the tip on the tarp, I'll take a look at it. Did you have to secure it in any way to the side of the coop?

Suzie, the thought crossed my mind, trust me!

But I'm loath to use poisons of any sort... best I could do was agree to go to the water park, which thrilled DH as I never go and we spent the day pretty much on our own, of course not 10 minutes after we got home she was calling and all bummed out.... telling DH how she felt slighted and that he didnt' have any "serious" talks with her, etc (DH said she has no friends that talk to her about real life and he does tend to help the terminally "lost" among us)... he said, this is MY summer and it's all about fun, I don't care what anyone else does, I'm just having fun."

MLH congrats on the chick! Glad taking Cornie wasn't too terribly tough, he fulfilled his purpose after living a wonderful life, there is no bad in that.

Hurley, congrats to Charlie! I'd be paying attention to them boys, you never know when you might need to know how to hone a bb gun

FT, wish I could get the Amish to install a break for me on my side of our car, whenever DH drives I'm always stomping the imaginary break but it doesn't help much, but does make him chuckle. Just once I would like it to work and surprise the poot outta him!

I'm not worried about her, DH, bless him, tells me everything. I wish you'd have given me that idea earlier.. I never think of the good stuff til to late

Hey Everyone,

Today is not fun. No air conditioning and my poor dogs are so hot. They both have long hair that was made for sub zero temps not this hot sticky weather.


Luckily I sold 22 chicks today! I'm so glad someone took them because I was running out of room. Now I only have about 7-8 chicks left and I think they are mainly gold and black sex-links.


I got a new foster kitten today. So now I have 3 looking for forever homes. They are all so cute!

BL4 the only thing we did was let them swim for like 10 mins that night while I was setting up their box, they got food and water right after they got in the new home. IDK what happened. I thought they looked just fine!? IDK sorry

Miserable blanking weather. Headed out into the heat to head home. Hope the chickens survived today. They were so hot last night I hosed them all down, after which they promptly began moving about, eating, drinking acting like chickens instead of panting so hard they squawk. Poor things. Dogs are going dingy having to stay in all the time.

Deb, Send those kids up here for a couple of weeks.. If I or any of my siblings would have behaved like that, If my dad wouldn't have kicked our backsidee$ Mom would have.. I sure hope you didn't break down and bow to their wishes.. My grand daughter pulled something like that on me one time.. she was about 15.
I told Annie that I would have rather had a total stranger that enjoyed doing things, than go through trying to entertain a spoiled brat..

I have anoher party coming to trade chickens in about a half hour.. anybody want to get into the pool ? show or no-show ?
this would be the ultimate no-show.. as they contacted me this morning about it ..

I broke down and took a vicoden this afternoon, I had only 6, now I have 2 left.. the mouth is healing, but it is still swollen.
once the swelling goes away, so will the pain, I am hoping..
Ill tell you this,,,, I sure am getting sick and tired of chewing on only one side of my mouth...LOL

people should be here at 7:45 I better go up and listen for a knock on the door..

Hot evening everyone! Well we are done with the 2nd day of judging at fair- this afternoon was foods- which was fresh items, bake goods, candy, cake and canning. The kids did good got blues and reds!

Tomorrow everything else they entered goes in, including all the animals. We will be taking fans with us to use.

The tarp we use on the coop run is just stretched tight up to the coop but not secured to the building.

Off to start getting all the items needed for tomorrow ready.

Hi all! Well, I broke down and brought the air conditioner inside that I had hanging around in the barn. It is cooling the house now! Yeah! DD25 just came down and asked me if I wanted to go and take a jump in the lake. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back later! Terri O
