Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

TO, I was going to ask the same thing about the neutering but forgot..... what is the deal with not neutering a male dog??? I know some think it wil interfere with his hunting abilities, but I for one would like to see some concrete proof on that one.

As far as Frontline; we have been using it for the past few months and it has not made a dent in the population as far as I can tell. The problem with bombing the house is collecting up all the critters! I can't leave my birds and fish and the 4 cats and the dogs here while bombing the place......... UGH I suppose it is inevitable that it will be done, but I am not happy about it.

Goth that kitty is beautiful; looks like one we have here (ours is just a plain shorthair), he is spotted all over and has triangle markings along his tail.

The bonfire was a bust: stood out there for 20 min and lost a pint of blood to the skeeters.

Time to run everyone through the wash. Have a good evening everyone!

Wow, I missed a lot. DH's band had to play down in IL again on Sat., so we had a long day & night, and then a day of laundry & cleaning on Sun. On our drive home late on Sat., we had a beautiful fox run right in front of the car. Got our hearts pumping for the rest of the ride home. No nasty fox comments, please, Jim.
Speaking of Jim, you prolly could use some of that feed, hey? But you're pretty well stocked up now. Very nice offer, in any case. About the parts for the Husky, or any tractor part, for that matter, you are absolutely correct about getting all the identifying #'s you can. DH orders all his tractor parts online. He has been to darn near every part store in Wauk. co. & has found they are all run by twits who charge way more than what you can get them for online, AND they don't stock any of them. So why order from them & wait for it to come when you can order it yourself & save yourself the trip?

Carol, awesome pics. Adorable ponies & an even cuter niece.

BL4, I'm jealous of all the cherries. I can't wait for my trees & bushes to start producing. So far, we're only getting raspberries, currants, elderberries, juneberries, peaches, apples, pears & some plums. I'm still impatiently waiting for the pawpaws, honeyberries, nectarines, mulberries, seaberries & the cherries. Of course I say that now. When I have them coming out of my ears & need to start canning, I'm sure I won't be nearly as excited.

And you're brave. If I worked in a building near the EAA air show, I think I'd take that week off. The only time we hear about it is when someone crashes. I did have 3 helicopters fly over the yard this morning that might have been heading home from there. I've never seen any like that before. Oh, make that 3 worthless critters on the planet-ticks. Good luck on the flea battle. I do not envy you at all.

Deb, sorry about the bum luck in the job hunt. I hope it turns around for you. Wonderful pics! I hope you get that lens.
fl.gif
I hope DH listens to the dr. this time.

Goth, that is one awesome looking kitty!

Oh, man, it's getting late. Sorry, but cute pics, congrats on the wins, good luck at the fair, you're quite welcome (always happy to help someone out), wish I didn't have any squeeters (or flies, or Jap beetles), Bigz, good luck with the peppers. That is something I had never had a shortage with in the garden. I used to wish the plants wouldn't get flowers some years.

Sweet dreams everyone, & see you in the morning.

I told you I would be back..

I put Mom to bed early.. she was tired.. from what ? IDK..

when I put the birds to bed, the peacock was sitting on the cross beam on the gate.. He usually flies up to the roof of the lean-to when I approach.. tonight he let me walk right under him. I could have reached up and grabbed his leg.. that is the closest I have been to him.. He is coming around..

deb, I had to laugh at the mental image of that chicken with flies stuck all over her.. maybe that is the answer to the fly problem.. put sticky on all the chickens and then they can eat the flies off of each other..

I had neutered hunting dogs.. they were great hunters and not fat.. the fat comes from the owners overfeeding an under exercised dog.. Ken's dog is not neutered and he is as fat as he is long.. he is only 5 years old.. the dog, not Ken.. He looks like a marshmallow with toothpicks stuck into it.. Ken, not the dog.. LOL

I tossed all the eggs out from the hatcher.. I floated the turkey eggs and two of them wiggled.. I put them back.. they are late hatchers, so I don't expect them to really hatch..

that feed from Mac in Wisco could be a good deal.. maybe a couple of people could go together on it..

maybe while they are at it, they could get the formula??

I use Bio spot on our dogs and cats, If there is something wrong with that stuff, I DO NOT want to hear about it,

that stuff WORKS wonderful!

ok so I posted the chickens on CL today, I got 1 call, the guy sounded all interested and asked for an address to come here and pick some up. then he said he would call me in like 15 mins to discuss what day he could come (I figured he had to talk with his wife) ?? he didn't call, and call me paraniod but I have a bad feeling. I hate giving my address out but you kind of have to if your gonna sell something on CL. Arrrrg!

Get Peatwo better soon so he gets out of jail!

dkv... know what you mean about "stuck" with the mutts! DH is gone 10 to 12 hours a day so all the training falls on me! He wanted the dog... but he's not around enough to train him! Bad as the kids!
lau.gif
Just as well, he never learned how to train a dog so I have to "train" him too! LOL

I bet he/she's a darling! I am so glad Turk is happy there! He just wasn't working out here at the time and he was way too cool for freezer camp! Do you know who/what the mom is?

raim.... hope your sale works out and the guys not a creep!

Congrats to all the Fair Winners!

Man I wish I was close enough to get some of that feed!!! I really need it!

Ruddy is 5... he's not fat. I don't have a picture of Duke on this computer, but if you saw him at the bash, everyone would agree, he's not fat. Duke was for a bit but that was DH's fault for feeding him donuts and cookies!
somad.gif
But he's slim now and he's over 16! ALL may dogs and cats have been neutered or spayed. (Except when we breed the German Shepherds) Never had a fat one (unlike us!

) ! Guess I feed them healthier than us!

Mac - I sent you a PM, I am by Sparta.

DK - I will get a picture on here today sometime of the winning photo. Yep, I had to enter in the professional category as more than half my income comes from photography. (actually all my income, but that was the way the rules were written.) And Thanks!

BL4- Did you get any capstar? That will kill the live ones on the animals and it works great before you bathe them.

MLH - thoughts your way for Buzzy. Hope a recovery comes your way.

Raim - I too hate giving out my address to people that are coming to pick things up. I dislike the society we live in

Well, another day around here... need to get some cleaning done, this house (and laundry) was severely neglected while we were at fair. Seriously, gone for 4 days and come home to a house that is trashed. I don't get it, no one was around... how did the house end up this way!?

:ducGood news and sort of good news:
Mr. Roo (who was attacked by a dog, got a limp, and lost his hens) has now gotten his little harem back. I don't know how he did it, but kudos to him. I have to take back all the mean things I said about those heartless, worthless hens....maybe they were freaked by his limp and now they've gotten used to it.

Then this morning I was leaving for the office and saw my black & white penciled polish frizzle with a batch of black baby chicks. The sly thing. She must have been hiding outside with her eggs. There are about seven of them, although they were peeping around in the hollyhocks and I wasn't sure if I counted them all. The bad thing is that, rather than a planned breeding, this will obviously be a motley crew of cochins mixed with polish mixed with frizzle.

In addition...I will have one hill of a time getting mother and babies into the chicken coop and away from weather and dogs.

I believe your cat is either a bengal OR a savannah cat, which is why he will be HUGE in comparison to your other cats, and more like a dog than a cat.
Lovely boy by the way.

Well I am sick
sickbyc.gif
, DH was sick at work, I had a bout of restroom running ALL DAY.. then started towards home and got very nauseated. DH threw up on the side of the road on his way home from work.
A very green evening, sipping water, and finally had a little soup, then off to bed.. more restroom running..
Still green this morning, and loperamide/pepto is my friend, more restroom running.
I tried to eat a banana, I got about 3/4 of it down, so lets hope it helps.
I am trying to get up the energy to dry laundry, and go feed horses and chickens.

Morning all!

Gae-those mutt chicks are gonna be cute!

Dornes-I bet the chickens trashed your house..... they probably had a party while you were gone...hehehehe...

Raim-I don't blame you for feeling a little weird. Hopefully, nothing comes from it and he just was told no by his wife.

Goth-nice cat!

Carol- Sorry your sick and hope you feel better soon.

First of Buzzy is doing much better! Bright and alert, eating and taking treats-wheat bread and raspberries! Pheasants self regulate their food so while she looks like she is not eating as much, she is eating!!!

Second-I had a hen pen escapee! Minnie the RO was out of the hen pen.
barnie.gif
idunno.gif
, I picked her up and stuck her back into the pen and will have to watch today and check them tonight. It's the first time someone has gotten out of their habitat.....hmmmm...

So, On that note, it's time to get a "proper" coop! I was going to build one, but that would end in an divorce and possible murder, so what to you guys think of these? I need a coop to hold atleast 12 hens (the rooster will hopefully be gone) and one that will be good in cold weather. It will not be out in the weather but inside the roofed three sided car port where I have access to electricity. I am looking at coops that I can place next to the Hen Pen so The Girls will have access to their pen should they want to venture outside. I like a mobile coop idea for future pasturing and I was going to order it as a kit. Do y'all any ideas or any other places for me to check out?

The Yolks Wagon (like the cost):
http://www.eggcartn.com/yolkswagon.htm

The Egg Cart'n (like the features):
http://www.eggcartn.com/

Then there is this one- the CC32 mobile chicken coop (pretty but I think it might be to hard/to big for the Girls to heat):
