I am looking for someone who can relocate a duck - thats the short story

I have a pool and every year a mallard and a hen show up and occupy my pool until I open it. This may sound dumb..... but I am serious. I have always had an assortment of methods to chase them away - and easily, bottle rockets etc.. radio, teenagers. Eventually they end up somewhere else - just not my pool. This year the hen showed up without the mallard. She won't leave and I'm pretty sure its the same one that has been here every year.

She won't leave, and I'm too nice to just go and be mean.

Well, I feel completely stupid, if someone knows how to extract a duck, well, I'm all ears.

Oh and YES I do get laughed at, at the office.....

Is there an online dating service for ducks?

Hey I've heard them all.

Lemme know....

Thanks for looking.. and stop laughing - I am serious

**************** UPDATE ******************

Thank you Craigslist people who have sent me a link to

plentyofduck

I probably misrepresented the hen as well... in heat or something..... (SORRY HEN)

Well, of course it took about 2 minutes to find a greenhead and they are a happy couple.. See Pic #2

Now.. I'm changing gears...

I'm having a fundraiser so that they can get a room... and do what they are doing now..... not in my pool...........

If you STILL want to relocate the ducks, they need a honeymoon suite..... somewhere else...

Glad someone (something) is making the best of this warm evening

THIS IS NOT A JOKE !!!!!!!!!

************* LAST UPDATE ******************

WOW ...... this went way out of hand...

NO I WILL NOT MAKE A DUCK ADULT SITE!!!!!!!!!!! You Craigslist >>>&^&&^%&% ... people scare me.... read a book or something

Good morning to all! Cloudy here and supposed to storm I guess...sure hope I anchored down that new gazebo well! I am trying a little experiment with my humidity gauge. I put it outside and it is reading 92% and 83 degrees. Now I brought it in and am seeing how well my AC unit works...sure feels better in here anyhow! It says 79 degrees and 82% humidity after an hour.

BBP--I kind of understand about the fat thing cause a lot of older males you see will be chunky. I believe that people dont realize that they are feeding an animal with one less system to maintain and continue to feed like before. (or they feed what the pet food bag recommends--sure fire way to get an overweight dog!) The only dogs I did not neuter were my stock dogs...it did seem that they lost a bit of the "edge" they needed for hard work. All the dogs and grump at the trials were whole and I couldnt believe that there was no fighting! Again, these animals had a job and that is where their mind was. Of course it didnt hurt that they were all border collies!

One of mine did develop Mega-colon and the vet said that that probably wouldnt have happened if he had been neutered....yeah, neutering would sure have been cheaper than THAT surgery!

BigZ I looked up the information about the peppers and it is too much nitrogen that is the culprit! (yeah, my mind does work on occasion!) The article also said that you can fix it with phosphorous. Here is the link. Go to veggies on the middle right and pick peppers. Lots of great info on here for all you gardeners! http://www.gardening.cornell.edu/vegetables/index.html

My
neighbor just called and she wanted to know if the kitten hanging around by their place was mine....nooooooooooooo! They just cant understand that all mine are fixed! Yesterday my friend had me up to her house to see her cute babies...let me tell you, it is so hard not to take them all! Anyway, really cute kitty and so friendly. I called the shelter....

CC--my DH orders all his parts on line too. He went to the junkyard to find seatbelts for my old truck (dog chewed them out about 3 years ago) THey wanted $35 a set...new on line are $50. THen he found some other ones for $30...I guess that is probably what is in the box that came the other day...wonder what is in the other one? Probaby some motorcycle thing I am guessing....

Hey Raim...didnt want to tell you about the Biospot...it is really cheap for a reason! SSSHHHHHH! I would be nervous about giving the address too. IT is hard when you are selling something like chickens though to meet somewhere. THat is really how I like to do it.

Cind--I will get a pic of the baby today...he is pretty skittish. I do have bed news about Turk though...
sad.png
He is in the hospital cage for 3 days now. He is staggering when he walks! He will be standing there and all of a sudden he staggers and falls back on his behind. I thought I had lost him last night cause he was laying in the cage on his back. He must have fallen and he couldnt get upright again--I was glad I went out early today! Anybody have any ideas what it could be? He is eating and drinking fine and no sneezing or anything.

Cant wait to see your pic Dornes! What kind of photography do you do? My daughters are starting a business taking Senior pics for kids. They are going to try and do some really neat stuff and not charge an arm and a leg so all kids can have their pictures done. They feel so bad for the ones that cant afford a professional photographer and have to have the Lifetouch school photo in the yearbook. THey have an engagement picture to do so far.

YEah for Mr Roo! He must be quite the stud to get his ladies back so soon after his injury! I just love when my hens appear with babies in tow. I just leave them to their own devices though...it never seems to work really well to move them where YOU want them to be. I figure that if they found a secretive enough spot to sit on eggs for 3 weeks and not get eaten then they know what they are doing!

MLH--glad Buzzy is getting better! Those are cool coops too. I like how the wooden one looks myself. I watched the video of the first one...good ideas for the next one I build! I always say that the cats or dogs have had a party in my house when it is a disaster too (this is mostly all the time!) When I got in from chores this morning they HAD had a party! The eggs from the day before had been set on the floor to use the sink to fill the dog waterer and they just decided to help themselves! THere were about a dozen egg shells on the floor and about 2" of liquid egg in the bottom of the bucket...so these eggs will be washed! Darn dogs!

Well I think I have typed enough...I started this post at 8:45! Too much distraction...and I am home alone....what do you call that again AAADD?

Yup, that's me! Have a great day! Terri O

Terri O, your dogs really eat raw eggs on their own?? Wow! That's gotta be good for them, but I could put a raw egg in front of my English Cockers and they'd just look stupid.

Well, here is the photo that I took best overall picture on at fair. I, honestly, didn't think I would place at all with this photo, but the judge loved it. He said that I could not have taken that picture more than once because of the birds landing and the one in flight, and the one on the far left, it's beak is open.

This is the photo that I wished would have gotten the trophy.... I did get a blue on this one though. This is our farm, on one of the summer nights in June.

I love silhouettes.

TO - Best of luck to your daughters. It is a tough market out there because everyone and their uncle has access to DSLR cameras now days. Once you get your niche', though, the clients will keep right on coming. And good luck with Senior Photography. I attempted that, but I couldn't take the attitude of the high schoolers. And they way they talked to their parents. Pfft. If I would have done that, I would have been smacked! No respect.

I do mostly wedding and engagement photography. I really love it. I have been in business 3 years now, and have had weddings all over the place in Wisconsin. I even got to go to Jamaica last summer for a destination wedding! (here is my blog if anyone wants to check out more work... it is not too up to date, but it's there

MLH - so glad to hear your buzzy update!

great news! I am sure the chickens did trash the house! Seriously though, isn't it amazing how you are only home to sleep and are gone running all over the place for days and your house just turns into a disaster?

WCC - nice CL ad... how crazy does that sound? I am being dubbed the Crazy Chicken Lady by my hubby and his family. Last night I posted a picture of one of the salmon favorelles I got from you on facebook, and the caption was "have you hugged a chicken today?" Got a little flack for that one!

Thank you, it has taken me quite some time to get to the point where I am actually in LOVE with my own work. And what I am doing this year.... this is exactly where I want to be

Dornes, what software program do you use for your photography? I have a friend out in So. Cali who is a photographer as well, and she is just in love with Adobe Lightroom.

Ok; used Biospot, Frontline, flea collars..... I swear the little ba$trds are in the lawn and they just keep coming back! It does not help that we have hardwood floors and the little snots hang out in the cracks...... I am just about ready to shave ALL the furry critters and dip them all......

I will call the Vet about the Capstar and see what they can do for me.

Finished one box of peaches, ready to tackle the second after lunch and after I get a pie into the oven with Dr.H's yummy pie crust.

Off to get to work!

I also use Lightroom. I was an avid photoshop user and then someone introduced me to lightroom and I can NEVER go back to photoshop. Ever.

Amy- what posts are you referring to
frow.gif

As far as the fleas... GOOD LUCK! they are little b@$t@rd$ aren't they? So hard to get rid of and then once you think they are all gone, the second re-infestation from the eggs that the first ones layed are hatching and you have more! Capstar will give you a jump start on them. As well as the medicated flea and tick shampoos and the flea and tick topical products. Theres some powder and sprays you can spray on your floors as well as under your couches and such, they like to hide under there. It is a never ending battle here with the farm cats that hang out in our yard. I keep my dogs and cats frontlined up and every once in a while we catch one on them. I think they hitch a ride in and we see them before they are killed off.
