Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I just love cochins! I got some bantam eggs from the crazy egg chain. They are about 6 weeks old now and just so sweet and friendly. The kids love holding them. I've had standards before and they have a great personality but their size makes them a little difficult to handle.

Well I rarely get on here and hardly know any of you but I just wanted to share this again about Youths being able to win a pair of show quality birds this summer by writing a small paper of their experiences with poultry. So if any of you have kids that are interested please check this out.

we are finished,, 14 roosters, 1 turkey and 4 americauna..

we left the turkey , amricaunas and one rooster whole.. the rest are cut up for fryers.. the backs will make a fine kettle of soup, Ollie.. the americaunas are going to be our "Cornish hens" meal..

One had a crossed beak and did not grow much at all.. It was smaller than a quail..

I am heading to town to pick up a primer bulb for the push mower.. I think/hope that is what the trouble is,

the flies really appreciated the butchering session.. Annie put a fly trap in the g bucket and that kept the flies off us and the chickens..

when I get back from town, we are going to carry all the rest of the americaunas back to the guinea pen for the night.. tomorrow they will be let out into the chicken yard.. Annie wanted to just turn them loose.. He11 NO !! then we would have to herd them back there,, Not on my watch !!! that would be like bailing out a sinking ship with a sieve..

Off to the shower and then to town..

Laterzzz ..........jiminwisc...........

Do the winning kids get to pick the breed of bird or is that predetermined?

I think the chickens are predetermined, but am not sure. Is there a number you can call? I think there might be a phone number on that write up.

Evening all!

I feel like a bloated pig.....I was very bad today and had iced coffee and toast for breakfast and 4 Oreo's for lunch.....The dh and I went to Fuji Sushi and Steak House in Janesville because I was starving. Once there ,we sat a the habatchi grill and I porked out on Samurai Steak....Ugh....now I just want to sleep....zzzzzzzzz.....Dang it was good though!

I found a coop that I love but won't fit where I need it to.... is a great deal for some one! :

So, after much deliberation, dh has decided to (are you ready CC?!?!

) Enclose the car port! LOL!!!! This was my original plan many moons ago, but I kept changing it around to avoid "blatant chicken ownership". I wanted something more overt, but dh said that if some one complains, then that can become a Rabbit-tat! So, dear CC, you were right and I should have just listened to your greater intellect! So now you get "I told you so rights!"

Other then that I mowed the lawn, finally! I raked some grass clippings for the Girls and they were like "Yeah! Grass" then they were like: "Hey wait a minute! Where is all the yummy weed stuff?" *sigh*
We got the Malibu back and it turned out a rock had gotten stuck between the break pad and the roter?...rotar?.. drummy thingie.

Well, I'm going to go dose in front of the tellie and watch the remainder of Shark Week
