Dinner sounds good Bigzio! We are having BLT's with garden tomatoes and zucchini squash yummy!

Just watch the pup clear the baby gate and the irish setter standing on the other side- right over the top!

Well it looks like the wasp nest is dead-DH checked yesterday and couldn't see any activity and we have had no wasps to kill in the kitchen for the last few days.

Our cuckoo Marans hen is holding her own yet, we'll be giving her more vitamins later tonight and see what the next day brings

Hoping to take a part day off tomorrow, seeing that it's our wedding anniversary, but not sure if that will happen as DH has a few open jobs that need to be finished. Guess we'll play it by ear.

Hope you can make your anniversary date happen H&R...how many years of wedded bliss are you celebrating? I've lost count....

Good Evening all! It is nice to hear what you are all up to. I finally went back to read everything after the hectic weekend.

Justa real lazy day for me today. I guess I needed it. But tomorrow I have to hit it especially hard to finish up some of my projects.

I had raked up a big pile of feathers and 'stuff' and left it overnight. Big mistake cause the chickens decided to play in the pile. WOW if it was bad before it really looked feathery. Like a feather pillow had blown up. Got that cleaned up finally.

Things are looking pretty good in the coop, but I am constantly remodelling it seems like. I want to get a 16ft X 6ft 'porch' built on the southside for winter and convert my coop into a woods style open air coop. The 'porch' would have screen across most of the southside opening and then I would add a bit more ventilation on the west and east sides. I have been holding off till the weather is cooler as I am not much for building in this heat. I have been 'gathering' supplies for quite some time so at least I have a head start on that. Got nails and staples of all sizes the other day but will probably need more in the middle of the project.

As far as my little coop I too, TO, am thinking of junking it, burning it, whatever. Then start new with a little rooster coop of their own this fall. Either that or time to start butchering roosters again. I doubt that will happen though. I keep threatening to do it. And I have, some. I was lucky to have found good homes for a lot of my roosters so thats a plus. I had to let hens go with them though. Except for a few people just wanted roosters.

me again,

I had a guy stop in to visit today.. just starting out with poultry..

His mother loves to hatch eggs..

it turns out that they had some bad luck with some Bronze turkeys.. Now they would like to get some hatching eggs (preferred), poults or adults..

anybody got some good leads??

I just set 49 quail eggs.. I did not have to modify the whole egg tray.. only about 9 holes where the eggs were too small and fell right through.. those probably won't hatch anyhow..

I had 3 fried eggs for breakfast today.. 2 pullet and 1 quail..

..........jiminwisc..........

Ok this is my third attempt to reply !!!

Had it all typed out TWICE and POOF !!! Gone !!!

So here are a few short replies :

Tomski, Yep the 24th, '58 !! YOU? I love the names Bert and Ernie !!! To cute !!! Hope the girls like them !!!
love.gif

WCC Yep I got Spice the same day I went to look at her. Figured why make two trips. I drove her. She was fine with cars and bikes !! Only problem was when I went to turn her. She got jumpy. Turns out they had cut the shafts off because the ends were rusty and when I turned her they were poking her in the sides !!! The cart was also to short for her.
She is a nice pony and a quick learner. I've been working with her everyday so she learns my voice and comands. I took pictures of her but she had her fly mask on. Hopefully I can get some better ones and send them. Then you can see her one blue eye.

Ok, I'm sending this so I don't lose it AGAIN !!!
