good PM, I have a young tom turkey spending the night in the pine tree.. I threw a half dozen aples, a grain scoop and a hoe handle at it.. the apples came back down,, the rest of the stuff did not.

DrH and I use our stuff, that is why it gets broken.. I don't hear much about sewing machines, or ovens or washer and dryers going kaput on here.. I wonder ??

too late to call about those peacocks tonight.. I will try in the AM.. I wonder if they are in fact peacocks, or if they are using the peacock title generically..?

i am going to bed early tonight,, I have to get up at dawn to make sure nothing grabs that stupid turkey in the pine tree..

Well I screwed up big time. Here I thought that Great America would be open next week but NO, they are closed during the week STARTING next week!

So instead we will be travelling to the Dells using the corporate rate and staying at the Kalahari!!!!

Cheaper deal in my book!

Looks like we will have some baby duckies by the end of the week. Taffy has one that looks like it has pipped internally. I am taking a HANDS OFF approach on this and going to TRY not to intervene TOO much!

Gave the dogs and the cats drug #2 tonight. I think those poor dogs had their first decent nights sleep in a long time last night. I was happy there was NO SCRATCHING.

H&R you are reminding me of all the memories I have of filling out those yearly fairbooks for 4-H...... I of course procrastinated and waited until the very last possible second to fill mine out so it always seemed like a huge homework assignment.....

Looking forward to the Fair this week. I love looking at all the animals and quizzing their owners. I hope I run into Tyler and a few other BYC folks out there!

Ok, off to bed for me. Big day at work tomorrow!

TO... cool eggs! I have some that lay speckled eggs too but didn't know what kind of breed made them. Now I know that a couple of my "mutts" must have some Welsummer in them! I also have one or 2 that have fine red speckles on med/dark brown eggs.

Jim.... you need to throw more stuff up there to knock that stuff down!

Well, night before last we put Jasmine's kids in with the ones I got from Jim. DH let them all out in the small coop in the morning. When I went out about 2pm All of Jasmine's kids were in the 'mini" run I made for them... no door on it now...lol I have no clue how they got out! The little 8 week old Ameraucana was so proud of himself.... HE CROWED!!! A big loud crow! I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it!

He was almost as loud as the big ones! I would love to get a video! So cute! And he's a pretty boy too. Too bad roos have to be ROOSTERS!

Duke is still hangin' in there. Ruddy is ever vigellent (sp)

FT.... DH was thinking about getting our feed custom mixed.... our mill will do it at 500#, may I ask what your formula is? I know you posted it once but I gave up trying to find it

( I know I have to take a Rooster to get it! LOL

Good morning everyone

I discovered the third egg, It seems like who ever is laying does it about every other day. I opened up the nest boxes and put a golf ball in but she insists on laying in the corner of the coop. I hope she figures it out. I put a light in the coop on Monday, it comes on at 3:00am till 6, by then they are let outside. I am hoping they all lay before winter sets in.

Been up since 4:45, was hoping to get out and get some nice early morning shots, sadly the weather outside resembles what it looks like inside my head most days... foggy!! Haven't heard back from the interview, he was supposed to making his decision this week sometime... still

My part time job is very part time, a whole whopping 8 hrs a week... whatever will I do with that huge paycheck???

Really need to find something soon as even 8 hours of continual puppy piddles and diddles is to much for me, I come home smelling like... well.. you know! Amazing how much they can go in 4 hours!!

Sheesh, seems the fog is getting thicker, not thinning, darn!

good AM,

I was up at 2:3oAm but managed to go back to sleep until 5:45Am

the turkey was on the ground before I got out there this AM> I was out there at 5:45.. But he was not alone.. there were 6 total walking around.. all of them young ones.. I opened the gate and NOW they want to go in.. brats !!

the hoe handle and scoop did not come down yet.. prolly waiting for me to walk beneath them..

Hey CC, I just bought a set of files and guess what ? they are put away nice and dry..

Now i am feeling really sad,, you even got Deb picking on me now..

BL4, what did you use on your dogs ? Our Prince is itchy from ragweed, he gets "hot spots",,,,,,, at least that is what Annie says.. I don't know how he could , he is in the house most of the time.. I think she is using BlueCote on him.. I gave her a jar of triamcinolone acetonide cream usp o.1% to use on him, but since it was not her idea, I don't think she is using it..

Had a little more rain during the night.. Now the muddy areas are ankle deep..
