Well despite our best efforts, our Cuckoo Marans hen didn't make it...but on a happy note we have 4 chicks from her and they are about 3.5 weeks old, we'll see what they grow out as.

sounds like the storms were heavy up north further- hope all of you in that area didn't see damage!

off to work today and try and get something done

I wrecked another one of my mom's birds! I've been giving one of her Chinese geese a lot of attention lately and now he pesters her everytime she goes outside. He even followed when she took her dogs for a walk last night. She called me this morning to tell me how annoyed she is and that I should take him home. I don't have room for geese. If anyone is interested in him and one of his goose friends let me know.

Good late morning! I slept in today and it felt soooo good! Man, that housecleaning really wrecks a person...no wonder why I dont do it here!
So BCC--where have you been???? I could not begin to tell you all you have missed....prolly 200 pages worth (or more!) We have become very chatty on here lately...
Hey Jim--I sure wish that pines lost their needles; yours would be a site in winter! How many other things are up there? Bet it would look like a farmer's Christmas tree if you could see it all.

I had many witty comments to make...and they all have left the building! I have been playing with my coffee pot this morning. I set it to make the coffee at 8...I came down at 9 and there didnt look to be much in the hopper so I thought the girls must have each taken lots to work. I drew a cup...aaacckkk!

I figured out that it had run for about 2 minutes and quit! Talk about strong. I am popping hairs out on my chest left and right! Geez! So I had to stand there and turn it on, it would run for a minute then I would have to shut it off and back on again. I FINALLY have my cup of coffee! That is way too much work. I just got this one too...closeout at F&F--really neat cause it doesnt have a carafe. You just put your cup under it and press against the lever and it fills your cup. Neat design. Maybe I will email Proctor-Silex and see what they say...I dont know if I have the receipt.....

So to day I take my lady grocery shopping and throw out everything in her fridge (only to buy the same stuff all over again...) It is very tiring...but my chickens LOVE it! I swear she only eats the snacks we buy....guess what--no snacks again this week! I am trying to be mean and only let her get snacks if she eats the rest of her food. Kinda like you do with a 2 year old I guess....
We have to get a converter box for the TV I got for her bedroom too...I hate Radio Shack! Well--I guess I better get moving if I am going to get there by lunch time! Stay out from under that tree Jim! I decided to just let my roos sit on top of their house like Snoopy last night...I was hoping it would rain on them....guess I better take a look and see if there are any feathers--I am tired of my arms getting scratched snatching them down from there!
