Hey Jim
Yep, that is the guy. He said he has just had these birds for a few days. Can't remember how he got them, trade or something. So have you dealt with him before? PM if you want and tell me more details ok.
Our truck is still in the shop, it needs all new lines to the back brakes and the cap or whatever was blown off. All the hoses from the lines to the brakes are in real bad shape. Long story short it will be close to $300 or maybe more.
I have another lead on some pied hens so I wouldn't need to trade, at least not now. Like someone said on the peafowl thread, this hobby is getting complicated !!!
Went out today and there were NO eggs !!! These poopy heads just might have to get corn !!!! They sure aren't earning there keep.
The guy at the auto repair place gave me a name feed mill that he uses. Said it is alot cheaper. It is in Auorua, Florence county. Bout 60 miles. Have to call and see if it is worth it. This guy feeds all of his chickens the All Stock from Fleet Farm. I looked at the bag once and it didn't say for chickens so I never did it. Now if it would have said all flock then I would consider.
Because I got up early to deliver the truck to the repair shop I took a long long nap today. Well I woke up hearing what sounded like a rooster in my bedroom. Sure enough !!! I forgot to put Spark back in his pen. He made it all the way to the bedroom !! Now if only I could teach him how to crow at the right times that would be great !!! After last night I'm not so sure about having a pet Rooster !!! Let's just put it this way, he NEVER crowed DURING the commercials !!!

I am always looking to find something new to read myself .

FT you can train the rooster not to crow. It takes a little while but does work. I had mine trained to not crow till I woke up.

I cant remember ducking under any desks, but do remember the shots at school. Then there was the sugar lump for being good at the doctor's office. Took FT to point out it was more than likely laced with a vaccine.

Had to go vaccinate pigeons again today. I brought home 2 of the most ugly pigeons you can imagine. Pygmy Pouters. I will have to post a picture later after I get cd

Evening All.. Glad to be home safe again going to GB... Almost had a guy slam into us while we were stopped for backed up construction traffic....Hold on Suzie we are gonna get slammed.... he slid sideways and just stopped within inches.....no wonder why I love staying home with the chores to be done! I was on the road for 30 years makin a livin and made it home safe by the will of God. I surly don't need Suzie along for the last ride....slow down people....you will arrive wherever! To think my life was on the road, making it home safe every day, makes me want to stay home, raking leaves, or whatever work the hill brings my way.

My eye pressure was normal....and the eye chart was blurry but....I can live with that....I'm thankful every day I have. I've been blessed with more years than many get....quality, not quanity, eh!

Had a young 4 pointer walk through the back after we were home. Just kinda fun to watch the young buck feelin his oats!

Stay safe.... bigz

, I figure that I am never in that much of a hurry that I can't let the other driver go ahead if needed. I make my parents call us when they head for home after being up here by us and we call them if we are coming back from their place

hope everyone else had a good day, got their list of chores worked on etc.....

I hear you about drivers, I work out on the road for construction and people just don't pay attention any more. Hubby got a buck tonight, can't wait to have some tomorrow night, fresh on the grill. Yum

I don't post much, but sure enjoy reading. Thanks

Jim,
I don't know if you have mice, I can't feed a whole oat due to mice eating them out of the chicken feeders...
Just a thought.

I don't know how many people have or don't have a World of Variety near them, they sell BOSS for actually fairly cheap.

I found about 4-5 coffee cans worth of sweet feed from one of my feed bags on the floor.. the bag it came from was buried behind another bag, and 3 bags deep...
AND the holes were small...

I have started watching 30 Rock.. its hilarious... I think my favorite fictional show that the Exec producer played by Alec Baldwin.. does a summer show called
"MILF Island"... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MILF_Island
"25
Super-Hot Moms, 50 eighth grade boys, no rules."

Just wrong.. its funny and they only show parts as the rest of the actual show 30 Rock airs..

Anyway.. nighters

I think they call it gel nowadays, Jim. Thanks for posting the buckwheat info. Very interesting.
TO, way too funny describing the mice. Glad I wasn't in mid-sip. I'll have to look up that book.

Oh, my! So glad to hear you are both home safe, Bigz.

What a scary experience you had! I share your feeling about being happy to stay home these days, and am so happy you two are ok. I sure don't understand what they are teaching in driver's ed these days. I won't even get started on that one.

DH got rearended by a box truck at a dead stop on the X-way & got pushed into the truck in front of him a few years ago. Needless to say, our little blazer looked more like a squeezebox after that. You'd think being way up in a truck cab, you'd have a better view than most of the 3 lanes of brake lights in front of you.

Troll, happy to have you!
Mom & I ran to the store today. They were clearing out their huge pumpkins for $1 each, so I picked up 3 for chicken chow. Should have gotten a few more. They had their Halloween candy marked down too.......

DH already picked up some straw bales for the chickens. They're stacked up against 2 walls for now. Jim, you made me envious with your trailer story.
Can you believe all the snow storms already? First the east coast nor'easter, now Col. to S. Dakota are getting socked. And a ton of snow too. Yuck! It's just barely November! They can keep it. I sure hope we don't get any more record breaking snowstorms, like ever.

I'd better scoot. Gotta feed cats & get to bed. SIL is stopping early in the AM to take a shower before work. Their well pump went out tonight. Bummer!
Sweet dreams, all!
