Today is day 9. My broody is sitting on Day 9 eggs. I am concerned for her and the peeps, but it is day 9, almost halfway there!!!

Almost had a riot at work today, but it took a little bit of calming and conversation to get 12 boys back on task.

Heading home soon, going for a run to and from church tonight. 1.5miles each way. Hopefully the fall lbs that I have put on will begin to fall off.

The ladies plowed through one pumpkin and a bowel of split peas yesterday and today. The peas were offered to add extra protein because of one hen pecking feathers off of the others and eating them. One friend said they were bored and needed something to do every day, so they are getting some hay in the run and some extra scratch or BOSS to work for.

Still hoping to get eggs out of 2 of them but one day they will all lay every day.

I bought a bag of peas and oats from the feed store to mix in with the layer feed. They really seem to like the peas.

Rainy Evening All... I started to rake leaves today and was lucky enough to get rained out

it will prolly take a week or two anyway, plus I needed a break. I'm not use to actually doing something physical since last Winter. I can't wait to get the chain saw fired up.

Good luck with the broody KN...hope you have a good momma! Is it ok to ask what flavor your church is? Mine is LCMC.

Tonight it's venzun roast with fresh potatoes and whole small onions and garden carrots. One minute they are still growing and the next they are in the oven. I gotta put a plug in for " kitchen bouquet " you add it to the water instead of using beef broth....once you try it, you'll like it. It's great for home made soup, like venzun veggie.

Hey all!

Nice to hear what you are all up to. Lots of yummy suppers. I had a salad and an egg salad sandwich. That was prety good. I think I better make cheesey popcorn again tonight.

Silly Silkies. I forgot that picture till FT was talking diapers and booties for the silkies. They didnt like their hair done. I havent done it again, but maybe I will try with Mocha the roamer. She has got a full head of it. I gave one white silkie a hair cut. She looks horendous. Lucky she decided to molt.

FT wow thats a big chunk for the brakes. They will probably keep the scrap metal too.

I wouldnt be surprised. Cant hurt to ask though.

Is this a set up?

Finally got a light set up in the coop, would you believe that my light has a 3 inch round junction box attached to it that hide the connection of the wires and a mouse made a nest in it. The hole to get in it was a half inch big. The mouse ate all the wires of course, but luckly all it need was to be rewired, not a big deal. I set my light up for a couple hours in the evening, make it nice for going down to the coop, since it is getting dark earlier.
