It must be a man thing. I believe I remember Jim saying he loses tools out in his garage all the time, even though he has like 4 of everything. And then they get dusty & rusty.

Could be a mouse FT. They like to move wires, so my phone guy says. Oh it seems some one drives back there regularly so I think they live close by in a newer house. I suppose it is a watchdog. He is well fed. But as a watchdog all he does is watch.

My EEcockerel that has been limping *er hobbling for about a month has started to use his left leg a little today. I am so happy. One day he just come up lame and I could see it was his hock joint that was *going out* . I was afraid I was going to have to kill him. I just left him alone and he apears to be repairing himself. Yea

That reminds me,,When I was married and the kids were little and we didnt have much money our fridge always didnt clasp real well. One night I went downstairs to get something out of the fridge and our cat *big gray tabby* was sitting in the fridge on a cake pan full of lasagna.

RE: skinny dude Maybe thats why he is high in the coop all the time. Must be a warmer spot up there.

Don't think I'd have enough room on my little tree. JK. We have a fat little 4 foot tree that I picked up at a thrift store. Cute little thing. Anyway, we put in up on a table & I stack gifts all around the base so there is no room for cats to jump up on the table. Usually.

But my babies are 4 now, so they don't generally bother the tree much anymore. Those first X-mas's with a kitten are a challenge to say the least. And this last time around, I had 3 kittens. 3 boys from the same litter. Oh, the stories I could tell you!

And no thank you on the little squealer, FT! It's bad enough that my sis has been threatening to give us each a kitten for X-mas. She thinks that feral momma & kitten she caught might be pregnant again. Great! I believe I did mention that possibility to her when they first showed up & told her to catch them right away. Did she? Nooooooooooooo. Ok, enough ranting. Back to laundry.

Ok., so some one asked earlier if mice and rats can become "immune" to poisons. The answer is oh yes they can! The most common I've run across is the Norway (Brown or Roof) Rat who is resistant to Warfarin. Thisdrug can also be known as Coumadin (sp) along with some other names. That is why when you are on it your doc needs to keep tabs on your liver function levels. Mostly to make sure the dosage is correct to prevent clotting but also that the your liver is not adversely reacting to the drug.
Oddly my BFF's DH works in sales for Matomco. They make Tom Cat brand rat and mouse poisons. If you need info, let me know and I can get the 411 from Christian.

Interesting about becoming imune to warfarin. I use Havoc now for my mice or Jaguar. It is a different poison and they literally eat it once and are dead! The only problem is that other creatures are prone to poisoning! If they eat the dead bodies than I guess they can suffer the poison too? That is what the label says anyhow...T

Before i forget, while I'm sure you all know this in regards to the light bulb waterers. You can buy a light socket with the 2 electrical prongs on and simply plug that into a extension cord, saving some hastle.

Reminds me of another thing...I do have a pig FT...it's in the freezer. Wonder if the pbg are more tender

TO- I'm going to have to ask Christian about "secondary kill" nowadays. That is what it is called when one animal eats a poisoned animal then gets sick. To my knowledge and from what I can remember from the poisons we sold, there was no secondary kill associated with them. That might have changed and maybe the poisons they now use are in levels that do produce a secondary kill. Hmmmm....
It might be that the companies you use also make their labels that way to prevent liability?

Top play it safe, keep the packaging from the poison you laid out in a place you can find it. If you suspect possible secondary kill sickness, 1) call the Animal Poison Control Center:
1-888-426-4435. A fee may be applied though.
And 2) get to your vet immediately. Take the package with you if you can. The poison control center can help your vet combat the drug used in the poison.
