cute baby Sandi.. that cap reminded me of my oldest grandson when he was 3 or 4.. I would put a cap like that on him only I didn't tuck his ears in,, I made his ears bend with the cap and then to pi$$ off DD#2 I would make him sing and march around the room to" HI HO HI HO, Its off to work I go.."

Hi All.... been busy trying to clean this place for x-mass

Good Morning Everyone! Looks like we're in for a nasty day. Fog was really thick here too Bigz! Cind congrats on the blue egg! So many funny things posted! TO to check for current in the water tear a piece of paper about 10" long by 1" wide and dip around 4" in the water. If it bends to one direction there's a current.
lau.gif
Putting your lips or any other part of your anatomy in possibly "hot" water is not recomended. You can get that ohm meter for around $15 much safer! FT cute kid! And I just feel like an old goat in spots.
gig.gif
Their getting more numerous.
roll.png
Goats scare me just as much as the BK king. With the goats it's the eyes, the king well there's something not natural about him.

CC thanks for the info on the PR's knew they were gonna burn out but was hoping it wasn't gonna be so soon. Hard to believe the slw's are burnt too. Told L last night when she called that we might be getting some hatching eggs from TO. She's all excited! She said that she'd keep them on her lap to keep them warm in the car.
roll.png
TO think that xmas eve morning would be the best if you want to do this so that we might not interupt any festivities. If it would be a problem don't worry about it I'll work something out I'd still love ya
hugs.gif
If you do, 3 doz would fit nicely in the bator.

Looks like an ends and odds day today. Told L she had to come home soon I was running out of dishes. she started telling me that she'd do them when when she got home. Man she's easy!
lol.png
Had to tell her that I've been doing them.
roll.png
My fortress of solitude will be breached on Sat. it'll be nice to have her home
hugs.gif
She's REALLY looking forward to it! Not used to all the noise down there.

Morning All!

No much to report here so far! The Evil One managed to do some minor damage to my candle holder collection and he stepped on the remote to the adjustable bed-that was fun....

The Girls are good, they got left over Baked Ziti this morning for giving my 8 eggs yesterday!

FT-Your little Niece is beautiful!
I'm surprised that your dh does not have his blood checked at least once a year for his anticoagulant levels. Maybe my doc was over cautious? After my open heart surgery, my doc had me come in at least 3 times a week when I started it. They were monitoring the drug levels to set the dose. Then as time went on I eventually got down to once a month. I only needed to be on them for 6 to 8 months but I asked why they wanted to check so often. My Doc told me that he wanted to make sure my liver was reacting to the drug the way it was supposed to and if I was going to be on them for life then they normally check the levels once or twice a year depending on the dosage. Warfarin is not an actual "blood thinner" . warfarin works on the liver, reducing the proteins that allow the blood to clot.
I could not eat dark leafy veggies or anything high in Vit. K- it was discouraged.
Vit K. promotes healthy blood clotting and that is opposite of what warfarin does. To treat a dog or cat that had eaten the poison directly, the treatment/therapy is to give Vit. K shots.

CC- sorry I misread your post! Thought you were wondering what H&R and I were planning!

Ok, so I have a little note out to Christian to get his take on secondary kill. It may take a bit to hear back from him is he is on the road.
In the mean time, I found this that might help explain how certain rat poisons work. This article is from 2004 and goes over the warfarin (anticoagulant) based ones. There are others on the market that use a more powerful poison and this article does address them a little. This explains how the poisons work and the secondary kill part is at the bottom. That was very interesting.
FT-this article does give some trade names of baits and Tom Cat is one of them. F&F might have had one of those in it's magazine. It would fit the description that you can remember...HTH

Windy Morning All.... Thanks for the heads up on the cat food CC! Don't remember how many cats you have? We have 5 right now and that's about 3 to many I'm thinkin. We always use some pretty good smoked meats for soup to CC. You would really be suprised how much better it tastes with a little ham soup base. The better the meat, the less soup base one needs. Definitley worth adding though.

We buy ours at Charlies County Market in Shawano. It's Orrington Farms Brand $2.63 for 16oz.

I'm not sure if we are having a bash this summer or not? If we do FT, did you change your mind about bringing the Ice Cream and decide to bring a pig for Jim's Grill instead? Maybe you could check the IQ'S on your pigs and bring the dumb one for the BBQ'S! That way you could still spend quality time with the smart ones.

Cute Niece FT. Striped leggings to match the hat would be cool. Plus some elf shoes!

Later... bigz

Ate the leftovers on the way home !!! Is there such a thing as a dumb pig ????

th.gif

Glad I didn't buy that soup base now. I'll look for Orringtons Farms, DANG now I"m hungry for soup again !!!
th.gif

Unless you care to PM me them then I'll have them for sure !!

Nice little road trip to Clintonville and Shawano !!! Just need money !!!

Snowing up here, all I keep seing when I look outside is baby frostys !!! Makes you not want to shovel !!!
gig.gif

Hey Doc, you think goats eyes are weird. Look into the eye of a pig once. Now that freaked me out. It looked like a human eye !!!! Real weird, at first glance I thought I was with an old boyfriend !!!
gig.gif
Just kidding, Pig get it !!!

Hi Cheesies, stopping in to say hello. I can't read all the posts anymore, just skim; I am busy on other sites and here at home, simply not enough hours. Shanti and her beau and daughter came over for the Packer-Raiders game, it was great fun! And she helped me with dishes - what a gal!!
lol.png

Looks like lots of new young'uns and newbies - congrats and welcomes!

Did I see talk of a Bash-less year in 2012? Say it ain't so! It's one of the hilights of the summer. We just gotta have it.

Trying to be entrepreneurial, I have set up an Etsy shop. Trying to talk dkvart into doing the same thing.
wink.png
Here's mine. http://www.etsy.com/shop/MeadowPath Mostly photography with a few other bits thrown in. It's been a lot of fun.

I should check out, got to get the house picked up for my folks to visit. And about 5 baskets of laundry to fold... Have a great week!

Good Afternoon all!
Hey Amy. I will check out your etsy
smile.png

This is my new mini coop. All in all it took about 3 years to build. But I did a lot of renovations this fall. No snow on the ground now but I liked this picture.

well I talked to two people now that feed chick starter to their show birds.
hu.gif
How interesting ~I guess. My new silkies are used to eating chick starter, wheat, and bread, as a show diet. I emailed her back to find out the porportions. If it is bread instead of mixed grains then that could save some money on the feed bill. We have a bread store here that sella flats for $1.

New pair in my new coop. This is an upper pen measuring a little less than 3 ft by a little less than 6 ft.

Thanks for the link MLH. I have to check it out at the library my computer is so goofy. Not sure the rats are gone as something came back and ate the poison again last night. Hmm.
More coop views. I am trying to make this better on dial up users as I am one myself. Everything is double layer of wood and then I put plastic on the windows and the north side on the inside. (mostly except the lil window there)
big coop is in background. click to enlarge if you want

bottom layer of coop with mamas and babies and a cockbird.

I really winterized it so the only problem is that when it is 20* plus degrees the heat lamp needs to be shut off and the door needs to be openned.

Well off to get some dust masks and a supply of allergy meds so I can finish cleaning. My lungs are itchy and hurt when I woke up but at least I could breath a bit. Need to get the rest of the dust outa here as furnace is recirculating it.
