That's exciting !!! January isn't that far away !!!! Let me and CC know if you find any apron patterns !! You sent me that diaper pattern. Now just need to figure out how to make different sizes. The one I bought for Sunny, Spunky or whatever I call him is to big.
I see they have some type of fabric at JoAnn's online that they use for the inside that makes it more waterproof, or should I say poop proof.

Tatters, what kind of soaps do you make?

I make cold processing soap and my soap it takes 2 hours maximum and I do it right the first time so it doesn't take me oodles of time. Now if I make more than one loaf/log then it will take me a little longer. My soaps capture the essence of yesteryear by bringing back the scents of the 1800 and 1900's

All bars are natural toned in color and I use herbs for what coloring I do use. I don't use palm oil as I don't support the extinction of the orangutang, therefore only use olive, coconut, canola and safflower oils. My essential oils I make from my own herbs.

You're asking that question on a chicken forum? Seriously?

Is there anyone here who hasn't had a chicken in their house at one point or another?

Now it is rare that I hear that spoken! Yeay for you. It is so easy to think ideally about the rare "commodities" on our planet and yet another thing to live up to our ideals. ahem *excuse the grammar*

Just wait. As soon as Tatter gets his first chicken the chicken math will begin !! He'll probably have more chickens in his house then the rest of us !!!

If you hang out here long enough it won't be a few years until you get chickens !!!! It will be like you gotta have them, NOW !!!

Do you haven any idea what kind of chickens you want ?

To get palm oil, trees are cut in the Amazon specifically to get the oil. This destroys the habitat for monkeys, orangutangs and other jungle creatures. To me, I cannot support such a thing. My woods is littered with maple trees and if maple syrup was processed like the trees in the Amazon, just think of what it would do to the habitat here.

As to the chickens I have in mind...Golden Laced Wyandottes or Buckeyes. I prefer the pea combs as its brutal here in the winter times and I prefer fowl with a bit of game bird in them so they blend into the surroundings and know how to hide well from the hawks, owls and carnivorous critters looking for free lunch. I want to raise dual purpose and have about 15 hens and 1 rooster. I have limited room so I cannot have a whole lot of animals here.

Anyone who keeps a chicken in their home is bucking for a section 8 and I do have some special, and very comfy white jackets for anyone who needs them
