Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Judgmental? Where in the world did you get that from? It's okay I know i am new and I need to rub off on people so its okay as you don't know me all that well. I kid around most of the time and I'm one of these fellers who can kid around with a straight face and you wouldn't know I was messing around. I don't get to talk much about how I live with folks as I don't associate much with people (on how I live) and its fun (for me) to talk ones ear off because its all pent up inside. From now on though, I will refrain in sharing how I live with folks and just read, not comment much, as I don't want to rub people wrong. I apologize if I upset anyone, it was not my intention.

Take a deep breath and relax Tatters...you don't have to sit on the sidelines without posting. We are alot more aware of life in Wi than the average folks...prolly keep that in mind. My next door neighbor (prolly 3/4 mile) are Amish...I expect the pony and the kids any night now before Christmas with cookies and pie for a nice neighborly gesture, for the things I've done for them this past year. We can learn some things from you....and I know you can learn some things from us... Peace! Tis the Season.

Ditto on what Bigz said, Tatters. As long as people aren't calling each other names or being rude to someone else, we're generally open to each others points of view. Not everyone has to agree with what you say or do, but everyone is entitled to his or her opinion.

Just remember we are mostly a bunch of very nice women with one or two grumpy old men thrown in, and Bigz.

I think what happened is my dominant side shown somewhere...I'm naturally dominant and I don't realize I'm being that way till someone speaks of a problem. So when that happens, I step back and don't show myself all that much. I'll still be around, just wont post much is all.

Please don't feel that you can't share, I find it interesting to hear what other people like and enjoy- how else does everyone learn but through sharing- everyone doesn't see eye to eye but that is what makes us interesting as people. I know what you mean about being able to keep a straight face and one can't tell if you are joking or not- my dad is the same way, always makes things interesting to say the least!

Oh my Gosh CC! I always thought I was in a World of my Own...

Evening all!

Everyone here is great! I did get eggs today, but I lost count! Maybe 8ish? The Girls "helped" me with the feeding this morning. It was a mess! The Ring Leader was Midge the PR. She can be rather insistent.

I got Saxie's blood work back and it was great! He got a thumbs up from Doc D. He does not have that hideious (sp) tick born disease. I knew he was tick free since he gets flea/tick treatment all year, but it's always a good idea to check and be on the safe side. He is doing great today and Santa made sure to get extra 3 calorie dog treats for his stocking!

CC-you crack me yup!!

Tatters-I've enjoyed your posts! I like to read about the different lives everyone leads. I'm the nose-y neighbor type! LOL!! I think the way you want to live is awesome! I'd love to live more like you and the others on here that do, but alas, I have to stay more "on the grid" then I'd like. But, reading about your life style is very fun, interesting, and seems adventurous to me! Reading how people live and what they do and enjoy here as given me the courage to try my hand at things I never thought I'd do or even return to doing! It's nice to see how people do things differently. Gives us good ideas to try something and think outside of the box!
So with all that said....I expect to see a post from you about how we strong armed you into getting chickens way ahead of your scheduled plan. I mean really, we need to get the ball rolling on you getting to the glories of Chicken Ownership. Tick Tock right?

How else to rub off on us than by participating? I also thoroughly enjoy hearing about your achievements in becoming a more "off the grid" sort of individual. My DH & I strive to do the same. If I had more time, I'd elaborate, but I'm supposed to be wrapping presents, not chatting online.
