Hens and Roos.. are you hatching enough to share some for sale or all for you in future? Would love an andalusian and leghorns at some point. Perhaps this spring/summer you might have more you will be hatching??

Thanks Kristip. I looked it up. It sounded great, then I read straight run only. I can only have hens. I may end up having to order from Mypetchicken, which is ok, I've only heard good things. The shipping is just so expensive for only 5 chicks.

Duke went between 3:30 and 3:50 this afternoon when I was out watering. It was a little rough, he did some moaning through the day, but he is at peace now.

Late Afternoon Early Evening All!

We had some fun here at the house last night. DH told me this morning that there was a lot of Chicken Drama going on in the coop during the night. Although the dogs did not care about this particular drama, DH did get up and shine a flashlight in the coop to see what was up. He saw nothing. Turned out one of the rabbits made a bid for freedom and squeezed out of her cage through the latched door and jumped 31/2 feet from her cage to the ground. Apparently rabbits become Saber Toothed and hunt chickens at night. I did not know this! Luckily no hens were harmed and the rabbit was none the worse for wear. I got two new latches for the rabbits cage since she broke the one that came with it.

Even though they had a tough night last night, the Girls did give me 10 eggs today!

Oh man! My neighbors dog just got hit by a car! I heard the thud from inside the house and just new that Zeeva got hit. I ran to go outside and I saw her run away and go back to the dairy. I ran over and told them that she got hit and they are going to try to find her.....I hope she is ok....Man poor Zeevie.

Well on that horrible note I have to get dinner going.....

SORRY about Duke Cind

Now he can RIP. The first dog me and Suzie bought when we were first married was a cocker spanial named DUKE...he was our best friend for 13 years. I have some wondeful old photos of him through his years. He was a great grouse and woodcock dog....sorry for your loss.

Awwww, Cind, I am so sorry to hear about Duke.

He was a great guy and gave you much happiness, just as you did for him. He had a good long life and a loving home.

Everybody's dogs are dying from old age or getting hit by cars lately. I hope I get 5 more good years out of my dog.
