Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Black Brook Poultry- The Dells is not that far, maybe an hour and a half. I am looking for all hens, 2 Favs, 2 EE's and one Bantam EE. The EE's are pretty easy to find, it is the Favs that I am having trouble with.

Hens and Roos- I will try and look into the swap meet. I have looked on the Faverolles sight and they don't have much in the way of breeders. I guess Favs are still considered a rare breed????

I just called Lunds Poultry and ordered 2 bantam Favs and 1 Buff Brama Bantam

I wanted full size, but these are suppose to be larger bantams. I have a source for Ameracana's just up the road.

Looks like I've got it all figured out.

I love to have stuff to look forward to in the spring.

babylady4- My avitar is our dog Bandit. He is actually a short hair Havaneese. Short Hair Havs are not what the breeders want. Kind of a reject. I, however, wanted a short hair and it took me awhile to find one. We had to drive to Minneapolis MN, about a 5 hour drive one way. Most of the Havaneese breeders wont even admit that they have this in there lines.

He does look kind of like a Papillon. His ears are only up because he is looking up. They are usually floppy. How do you post a picture?

Ditto. That was just so sad to hear.
Sorry to hear about all the accidents out your way, TO. That's terrible. I hope they found that guy. And your car wash brought us rain today. Almost New Year's and it's pouring down here. Unreal. I'll take it over snow, though. Hopefully it won't freeze. Scary story about your hay ride, TO. I'm glad you got home safe & got it unloaded, otherwise it would be soaked by now.

Actually $4k sounds about right with installation on a furnace. My BIL is in HVAC & installed a new furnace at my mom's a couple years ago & it was around $2,600 just for the furnace alone.

Jim, I think some of those posters on the OF thread say things just to cause trouble.

All I can say is, only you, FT.

How do you sit in dog hork and not notice????????

Magnolia, you ordered bantams? Did they say they will be females? I've never seen sexed banties; they're usually straight run. But then again, I haven't checked into banties lately, so what do I know?

Whereabout in Muk town are you? I'm in Vernon & Raiquee is in Big Bend. Click on uploads in the blue bar near the top of the page & follow the directions to upload a pic.

I put the girls new saddles on last night. They are NOT impressed with the new fashion statement. And neither is Moose. Boy is he ever a chicken, literally. He was afraid of them! Every time one of the girls got close to him, he'd go running away as fast as he could. What a protecter.

It was probably an interesting evening on the roost last night.
Well, I'm getting a whole lot of nothing accomplished here. I have to finish washing & remaking the bed, and have tons of dishes to do. Ugh! I'll try to check back later.

Celtic Chick- I live off of 83 by highway I. We just moved and love our new house. You are in Vernon. How close. If you have kids school age, they could be in the same middle and high school??? My son will be going to middle school next year.

When I called Lund Poultry she said that at about 1 week she could tell if they were hens. I guess the color of the Salmon Favs is very different between the males and females. As for the Brahma I am getting, she did not sound as sure she could tell male or female, but if she guesses wrong and it turns out to be a Roo, she will take it back.

So I uploaded some pictures, but how do I get them here?

Just made that trip to MN, took us 4.5 hours. Of course we do not have the luxury of taking US highways the whole way....

Just the same your dog is adorable!

Posting a pic on this site is a pain in the a$$. You have to open another window, upload your picture, copy the link of the picture and paste it into your conversation. If somebody else has a better way I would like to know it since this is how I have been posting pics from day 1.

Good luck!

Just like BL4 said.

Below your pic should be 2 options: thumb & image. I click on thumb & copy & paste it into my message.

No kids for me. If I did, they'd be out of school already. Ssshhhhhhhhhh!
Yes, you are close by. You're on 83? You're not far from that guy that sells old tractors & parts.
