I was in Adak AL in the navy in 1989 0r 1990, LOVED it!!
I went cross country ski-ing on the beach, did my first polar bear swim (jumped in 5 times!!), I was one of the p-3 orion squadrons that would come up on deployment!!
Do you miss the "national" forest they had there, planted by the sea bees in the 1940s the highest tree was like 14 feet tall or less...
And the eagles... so many of them.

Check this out !! Isn't it disgusting !!!!

Still need to get a pic of me for FT. I have a plan. Think a long ride in an Orion would be better than the back end of a deuce anna half. Trust me!

good morning, what's left of it..

I spent a long time outside.. sure is nice..

I got the tractor busted loose and plowed the perimeter walk.. I hope it smoothed it out a bit.. there were some tractor tire ruts made when they cut the corn field..

egg production went up yesterday.. prolly because we are collecting them before that Thai chicken gets to eat them..

DrH, there are no fish under that ice.. Is that you, God? No, this is the caretaker of the ice rink,

Yes, there are now 2 goslings in the TV..

Afternoon... nope no sunshine at all here today. Still very mild for this time of year. Wait til we get hit with the brutal weather not fit for man or beast. Checked out the link FT. If I ever had that much money, Id have eveen more, cause I would never do anything as stupid as that. She needs God in her life and learn how to forgive, I'm thinkin...but that's me.

The home insurance guys came today. They took pics (prolly so they don't have to pay) of the furnace, fire place, outside of buildings etc.... I'll just bet they love my row of wood next to the boiler (easy for night stokes).

Sure wish I had a big chunk of halibut for FFF tonight

I think you should barter your fishin hole Doc with FT'S- OM. You could tell him, you show me your spot...I'll show you mine...

Crappy day of fishin, is better than any day at work, eh!

Sure wish I had some halibut..... bigz

Just got back from the "chicken swap" with FT.

It was kinda funny - people asking what we were doing, what kind of animals were in the boxes...etc.

We stopped at a little "Mom & Pop" place that was right next to our "meeting place." - FT had some fried cheese and I had some beer...LOL We had a good talk... She pretty much talked me into coming to the next bash with my camper.

The new chickens are in with the others - Didn't see too much disturbance while I was out there. Ol' Bert the Rooster was checking them out pretty good! Can you say "fresh meat!" LOL I'll letcha know how they are doing tomorrow.

Debating whether or not to go out for a fishfry - had a couple of messages on the phone and a bunch of people are meeting up at the Legion...

Laters....

Tom

Edit: Oh yea: CC - I gave FT an extra hug for you!

just took the dog for her perimeter walk.. it as much easier after I dragged the back blade around it..

I have been noticing that one of my seb geese has gone missing.. I mentioned it to Annie.. she took a short walk and found the goose setting on 4 eggs behind the garage.. We are going to let her be.. she prolly will do a better job than I can..

I hung the Northern pike by the head and skinned it like a banana.. that is the way to go folks.. Next time I am going to slit the hide down the back and the belly.. this fish was frozen and then partially thawed so I could straighten it for cleaning.

the freezing made the meat tender , so I pulled some of the meat off with the skin.. I think a fresh fish would not do that.

anyhow, I filleted the bones and fried all of the meat with a generous portion of onions.. salt, pepper and a little garlic powder.. then I drained all the juice off and soaked up whatever was left with paper towels.. kept the meat in the pan until it was quite dried.. chopped and mixed everything together as I fried it.. put the meat into a bowl and into the refrigerator.. after it was cooled down, made a sandwich with tartar sauce. It was like tuna from a can.. Reeed Robin,, Yummmm !!!

I agree, a bad day fishing is better than a good day working..

DrH, I have to start up my other tractor, too.. thanks for reminding me..

That reminds me that the 8N, dead by the shed is sitting with new rears...prolly sinking into a sweet spot, eh!

How's the 2N doing Doc. Since there is no snow to plow, you should at least fondle her a little with a rub or two so she keeps runnin, check fluids and tell her your proud! It keeps em runnin...I know, someway, somehow.

Good to hear the chicken swap went good for you both Tomski and FT.

Jim, you process chickens alot faster than me...I'm sticken to my way of doing northerns though.

It's friday

hope everyone has a chance to take a break from the madness.
