OMWord that one is the CUTEST!

Hurley, he's a pretty roo, he does look a little mean. lol
I got a del roo that I call Devil that's Du vil lol he's not mean really but he will stand up to the kids. He will be on his way out along with some other roos. maybe I'll post them on CL or FB lol

Ok the book I have for goaties is really confusing when it comes to feeding goats, it talks about does (when pregnant) and babies but so much "other" goats it says something about feeding a certain % of their body weight? I would need to bring a scale outside lol but that site that FT posted, explains much better. being plump they could go with out OR like 1/4-1lb of feed per day (that's a BIG difference) so I decided to go with 1/4 lb (1 cupish) per feeding (to much? too little?) when I gave them the 1c each this morning (ps I tie them separatly) they didn't eat it all, and like usual, I took it away. ?? IDK why they are fat? lol off to finish school
later

Oh yes...waaay too adorable! Might have to start that bator up myself....LOL! I just love the silver one. THe penguin looking ones look like cuckoo marans to me. The one with the white lines probably has the game bird or Phoenix for a Dad. Happen to remember what those eggs were labelled? That would "prove" it! (maybe) Go here: http://www.feathersite.com/Poultry/BRKBabyChicks.html and you can see picks of all the breeds he has pics of...what do you think?

Welcome back Hurley!!! We need to see how big those boys of yours are by now!

Raim,

My goats get just hay. Of course being boys I don't need to conditiont them for breeding and milk production. Alot of the goat books are geared toward caring for milk and meat goats I've noticed. I give the boys goat food as snacks only.
They also get some horse treats, carrots and apples when I give the horses their treats.
I didn't look real close at your goats but mine look fatter then they are because of their winter coat. I know with males you have to watch the calcium because they get I forget what they call it but similar to male cats. Urinary tract buildup or stones or something like that.
I've also read that you should keep the males seperate, can't remember why now.

DrHa, I know I promised a picture of the showgirl so here is one.
The one on the left has no bowtie and the one on the right has a bowtie. Interesting fact. If you breed a silkie to a non bowtie showgirl you will get 100% bowtie showgirls ! These are still young birds, not full grown.
DrHa, they are adorable !!

Thought you had more then that though? I love #2 but they are all cute!!! Don't you just love it when they are nodding off and fall asleep from a standing position !!! I see you set up a photo prop !!! No Poopy ! I need to do that too !! Soon !!
Oh and good news Lilly the Lavender Orp layed an egg yesterday.

Soon CC Soon !!! I think I'm going to plop it in the bator and see if it's fertile. They can hold the sperm for up to 3 weeks. If it's clear then it's time to introduce. It's a bit small cause it's a pullet egg. Might wait a few weeks to set them because of that.
Tomski, do you remember how big the eggs were that you incubated ? Just wondering what her egg size will be ?

Nice roo Hurley. Glad to see you are back !!!
TO I thought all of those chicks are Hinz 57 ? Whatever they are they are adorable. Now we need to place bets on the sex !!!

with your chicks! Oh I hope I hope I hope I can get a couple to hatch! I did see 2 EE veining. I can't see movement in any though... They're just too dark! They are at ten days now. I can't wait to see if I get any chipmunked striped babies!

Oh and since the Packers performance was so bad... There will not be any packer names used, except perhaps Driver. I am thinking the first chick will be named Duster

Thinking that's one of 5 or 6 B. Australorps. Waiting for the pro's to inform me. Couldn't stand it any longer. Checked the remaining eggs and here's the total. Found the first clear posting TO so those are included. 36 eggs to start. [16] in the brooder, [1] still zipped. [3] pipped and DOA. [7] clear, 2 unmarked, 2 Barn, 3 coop. [9] developed and never pipped, 1 unmarked, 1 barn, 1 PR, and 6 coop. So around 50% hatch rate. So not the best but I'm getting better at it!

Bf4 you think your in love?

I'm a proud papa ya know! You should see me strutin! TO was thinking that too about them being marans and those others being of Phoenix heritage but I don't know nothin! Couldn't decide if that one was blue, silver, blue/silver, or silver blue? Stupid eyes! Guess it's a wait and see what develops now. They have started to become lil piggies already the qt jar is nearly empty. Better warm up the Jeep for a trip to TSC.

Yeah, this studying for boards with 2 boys is a major time suck. I'll be back in a couple weeks when boards are over.

In the meantime, here's a pic of the boys today. :)
