My previous post said "YOU GUYS quit talking about eating Beacon and Pork" !! LOL
Poor poor pigs, yesterday they got neutered and they have two huge holes in their groins !! They didn't even stitch them up. Said they need to drain !!! OUCH !! They are at least 3" long on Porky and a good 2" on baby boy that I think I am naming Arnold, Arnie for short !!

Not sure of little sisters name yet. Maybe Alley. Arnie and Alley ? Arnie and Agnes? Arnie and Aggy ? Whatcha all think.
Sure was weird seeing Porky all layed out and passed out !
Went to vet expecting to pay $110 for the two of them to get fixed and ended up paying $150. She said it was because she had to suture the ingunal (sp) ring inside where the B@lls come out of so they don't get a hernia. When I orignially called her and asked if she did pbp's she said she would. I asked about the "rings" and sutures and she said was aware that they had larger "rings" then farm pigs. She wasn't going to suture automatically at first until she felt inside and noticed how big Porkys ring was. I told her I would feel better having it sutured since all of the info I've read online keeps saying to make sure your vet that neuteres knows that they need to suture !!!
What can I say, she is basically a cow vet. Little Arnie had looked like he already started to herniate without being neutered !!
It's not so much the money but the fact that I told her exactly what I had, two Pbp's and about the awarness of suturing !! It took her forever to suture Porky. She had a tiny needle. Not my fault she could get it hooked!! Oviously no experience with Pbp's.

Doesn't help any that DH came home from work Friday and told me he was layed off for two weeks.

I posted this a few weeks ago but will again. Anyone wanting lavender hatching eggs, there are allot on this raffle.

I told the hubby we should do homemade gifts for Valentines Day. I'm making him a big fleece blanket and his favorite cookies (peanut butter blossoms). I told him I'd like my tiny starter coop put together. So my coop just got put together, and it is tiny! Oh well, good for my first here chicks anyway.
I can definetly use it for 6 bantams. It could be the silkie house. It could be the broody momma house. It might be small, but can be used! Not to mention I have seen what sells on Craig's list and they all look like Sh!t in my opinion! My hubby is going to pick shingles to put on (he's a roofer) and I'm going to paint it making it super cute! I can totally see someone snatching it up if I chose to sell it.

Anywhoo... I think CC should take a road trip to West Bend. Sounds like since drive and she could find a quaint little place for lunch!!!

I like Agnes, growing up my old neighbor was Agnes and she was so cool, she always made us kids fresh cookies and would give us little knick knacks too.

Now I'd think you'd be more offended being called saggy or raggy? Goes to show you what I know. I still think you're the bestest.

I'm curious, does anyone have issues with Fisher cats getting their chickens? We had one here about a month or so ago, it killed one of the stray cats someone dumped down our road. I haven't seen it since but DH said their are tracks up by the road that looks like its still around.

Still quite a bite in the wind here this afternoon. I noticed that I/m locking up the birds a little later every day now. That's a good thing.

Nothing going on for bacon sales at Nueskes right now Jim....I can let you know when one is going on. My daughter is also looking for the next sale. They have 2 different kinds that they usually run in the ten lb boxes...either bacon ends ( those are the chunks on the ends of the slabs)...or bacon pieces...those are the bacon slices that aren't perfect slices....I like this option the best....guys that bought the slice before me are paying $7 lb...they both are worth buying for sure.....kinda hard to believe that we consumed 40lbs in the last couple years....awful tasty.

Venzun Italian burgers tonight with a can of country style brown beans. I still have a piece of cherry pie left for desert, prolly a beer wash or two.
