I'm tee'd I had a post written about my Pot Belly Pigs neuter and it disappeared !!!
Susie, I am so so sorry to hear that you lost your Dad. I know the feeling all to well. I lost both parents and a brother within 2 months.
He is an angel now watching over you !
We will be with them again one day. Until then hold on to the memories. They will get you through the rough times.
My previous post said "YOU GUYS quit talking about eating Beacon and Pork" !! LOL
Poor poor pigs, yesterday they got neutered and they have two huge holes in their groins !! They didn't even stitch them up. Said they need to drain !!! OUCH !! They are at least 3" long on Porky and a good 2" on baby boy that I think I am naming Arnold, Arnie for short !!
Not sure of little sisters name yet. Maybe Alley. Arnie and Alley ? Arnie and Agnes? Arnie and Aggy ? Whatcha all think.
Sure was weird seeing Porky all layed out and passed out !
Went to vet expecting to pay $110 for the two of them to get fixed and ended up paying $150. She said it was because she had to suture the ingunal (sp) ring inside where the
B@lls come out of so they don't get a hernia. When I orignially called her and asked if she did pbp's she said she would. I asked about the "rings" and sutures and she said was aware that they had larger "rings" then farm pigs. She wasn't going to suture automatically at first until she felt inside and noticed how big Porkys ring was. I told her I would feel better having it sutured since all of the info I've read online keeps saying to make sure your vet that neuteres knows that they need to suture !!!
What can I say, she is basically a cow vet. Little Arnie had looked like he already started to herniate without being neutered !!
It's not so much the money but the fact that I told her exactly what I had, two Pbp's and about the awarness of suturing !! It took her forever to suture Porky. She had a tiny needle. Not my fault she could get it hooked!! Oviously no experience with Pbp's.
Doesn't help any that DH came home from work Friday and told me he was layed off for two weeks.
I posted this a few weeks ago but will again. Anyone wanting lavender hatching eggs, there are allot on this raffle.
