Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

DH hasn't seen it first hand , it was my DD and I that witnessed it killing the cat.

It killed a cat?!?!?!? Oh, I so did not want to hear that...................

I'd report it to the DNR. If people are complaining about a wild animal that is becoming a threat to their pets, they might actually do something about it.

It couldn't hurt to try. And be sure to tell them you have livestock that are threatened by it's presence.

good afternoon all, Annie just got back from Nueske's with a couple of boxes of bacon bits.. the sale is on until Feb 18.. I guess we are having BLT's for supper..

I filled both feed bins today.. that should last a few days.. that being done, the weather should warm up until I have to fill them again..

I thought I had more to say.. guess not.. I must just be bored..

Spent the day with the kiddos since they had the school day off. They came to work with mom at the University and got to feed the starfish (they love to watch it eject its stomach onto its meal) and the tarantula, loving every minute of it. After picking up crickets for the tarantula, we decided to bring home ANOTHER two budgies.... what was I thinking! Of course, the one looks just like the one my 9 yr old DS had, and when he asked so sweetly... oh well, mom is a big pushover... So now we have 8 budgies, 4 boys and 4 girls. The new additions are a turquoise and white, and a blue/gray and white. Compared to our birds, they make ours look obese! Good thing the DH likes his Budgies, he was all smiles when I brought them home. Those darn ducks on the other hand...... he secretly likes them too (shhhhh don't tell anyone!). I bet we will have babies out of this bunch so...... anybody thinking they might like some hand tamed budgies?

I would NOT like to see a Fisher here..... I'm in Waupaca County. FM should take note!

Getting ready for V-Day tomorrow. Made DH's favorite, Lemon meringue pie, and also made an Apple pie for the kids. Picked up a bunch of mussels, shrimp and sea scallops for dinner tomorrow night, along with some asparagus. That guy is going to be spoiled rotten! Wish I could eat some of that as well, but I guess I'll be stuck eating Tilapia or Salmon since I cannot eat the shellfish/seafood. Doc's think I might be allergic but their testing was inconclusive so I think I will have another go-round and see what happens. Either that or eat a seafood dinner in the ER and wait to see if anything happens!

DrH I am sorry your mother is not well, and Susie I am sorry about your dad.

I take it you've never had them run amok in your flower gardens? They'll peck & scratch the heck out of them. But certain flowers/plants can be toxic to chickens.

Here is a link to list of toxic plants, but I don't know if I agree with everything they have listed. Some things, like elderberries, are listed, but my girls eat them. I think the word "toxic" is a little overused & not explained as well as it could be. Some consider any plant that causes an unwanted body response (diarrhea, gas, etc.) as having a toxicity, but unless the reaction was extreme, it is by no means life-threatening. They have cabbage listed also, and that I do know causes a nearly life-threatening response in my gastrointestinal tract. Just ask my DH.
