Where abouts are you in SE WI ? I am up north about 30 miles NE of Antigo. I'm originally from Racine and DH from Kenosha.

I might be joining the Easter Hatch. I was going to do the Fools day but i have really no more room at the inn in the broody pen area. Might throw a few in, we'll see.

Also depends if i do the Easter hatch if i go down to Racine for Easter. Then Dh would have to do the hatch. Guess if I leave after lockdown he would be ok but then i would be here to log their hatch.

Sorry if i missed anyone. i was gone all day and haven't caught up yet !!! To pooped to read !!!

Well, I cut out the aprons today. Have to figure out where to put the sewing machine, where it is is the room right off the room with the wood burner and it's way to hot in there to work!

Good morning everyone. Boy with all this hatching talk I really want an incubater lol . The hatch along sounds fun but ah well I'm a Bears fan so I don't mind seeing the Packer fans beat . Nothing new is going on here, I still have about 13 or 14 days until my chicks are delivered.

CC & Bf4 your chicks are very cute.
TO - I like your daffs, I have 2 lilies that pop up in the summer but thats it. I need to do some major landscaping around here.
DrH - I'll be in your neck of the woods in a couple days, we're heading out there to check out a work truck for DH.

Great Morning Everyone! Got the news that my oldest DD will be training with a vet from Marshfield for a week! My baby is coming home!

Apyl I know you'll be on a mission but if you have time you could drop by for a visit would love to meet you! Here it comes... wait for it.... maybe you NEED some 31/2 week old roo's?

Susie I will personally train a special roo or 5 for you. CC your in denial you have lotso roo's too.

Cind if I had extra wood I'd fill ya up but there's no such thing. Your going to need to bring some ratchet straps to tie that stove down, wouldn't want to have it sliding around if you have to slam on the brakes. It wouldn't be pretty. 500 lbs through the cab. Coz

I'm just cross eyed with delight that the DD is coming home

wish her DH was coming too. I know she'll have a pretty full dance card but hoping she'll be able to spend some time with the ol man. Tomski that had to be one pretty stack of wood all cut nice and even. Of course when I cut last year I made sure I cut them a little longer.

I'm formulating a plan for the cross buck something simple but effective. Lots and lots of bating/hatching goin on. hope everyone gets good results. I'm already thinking of my next bating adventure. Had a very quiet evening last night I turned off the lights in the brooders for the first time. No more 3 AM parties.

Just had an epiphany instead of building something to hold the wood chunks put em in the wood splitter sideways. Don't know whats going on I used to think of these kinds of things right away.

Good morning! I feel like I was doing hard work all night! I am so achy it is not funny...I must have gotten into some gluten...or else I am just getting old? I havent had a flair up this bad for a long time. Oh, I just thought of something...I revamped my mealworm bins yesterday...guess what I bed them with? WHEAT BRAN! AAACK! No wonder I am wrecked. I had to heat it in the microwave and the container melted so I scooped it all up by hand. It was so nice and warm and smelled GOOD! Yeah, I wonder if gluten can be airborne? Probably...I had to clean out the micro then and I was picking through to get the pupa out; of course had t go and feed the girls a few worms...probably didnt wash my hands thoroughly enough...SHeesh--what a dope!
Now that I figured THAT out...I was up for several hours worrying what I am going to do this weekend with the 'bator. I was thinking about taking it with me to the hotel! Is this crazy or what? We have a sickness people! I dont want to miss the hatch--I will never know who came from who if I do! If drH couldnt keep them straight (and he LOVES chickens) think what 2 people taking care of them under duress will do?! Such poor planning on my part....I wish DD20 was going to be home!

Glad you will get to see your oldest DrH--exciting for sure! Where does she normally live that you dont see her too much?
Bigfam I sure am glad that you have that chick...I wonder if it knows that you saved it's life? I wonder what it will look like too...it's mama is busy making another nest and so is her grandma and her aunt (notice I said "her!")

Well I guess it is time to move my useless body and start to get the brooder ready--I dont know where the hood went for my light! What a crazy thing to misplace...why is it even off of it?
Still didnt due mileage for taxes either...BTW--anybody know if/how you can claim a 25YO that you still support on your taxes? Please? We lost another deduction this year and I am really gonna miss not having any refund!

you for even looking at the wheat bran. DD's DH lives at their home in Ga. DD has been in Manhattan Ks. going to the veterinary school there. L and the very proud dad are going there in Apr. to see her white coat ceremony. Then I think she has a year of internship at various locals. Glad she got her brains from her mother. She got her sense of humor from me. Still grinning like an idiot with anticipation!

TO, I sure hope you recover quickly. That just stinks when you aren't feeling well. Before you were diagnosed, did you have alot of stomach pain? I hope you can get something figured out for your hatch. You crack me up with your brooder hood musings. Sounds like your organizational skills rival my DHs. And no, that wasn't exactly a compliment.
