Duckies are doing good. little pigs! I clean them out 3x a day and its only 2 ducks! piglets! lol
lone chick died, fine with me.
we got all the 'bators running Sat. and set 11 dz eggs at like 9-11 last night, yes it took 2 hours to set them all. (ooo breakfast is done, hold on....lol)
ok Im back, rereading what i typed lol..... I would have set more but decided to let the call eggs have their own bator, heard somewhere that they like it on their side??? idk if its true, but I can rotate 9 eggs by hand.. bators are all (4) back to the correct temp after freeking out after we added eggs. my thermometers don't do .5s so the high is 100 low is 99 YAY! ALL four are perfect! good! hopefully they ALL hatch lol

oh y it took 2 hours to set them, I candled them all to 1 check for blood/meat spot

and 2 to check which way is up lol some where hard to tell. lol oh and I sold 2 dz hatching eggs too. guess I can list some on craigs list before I pen them all together again.... except for the silkies, they are staying separate from the birdzillas. lol OO OO I gotta order t shirts..... (yes I had to much coffee AGAIN!) all the 'bators are on my kitchen table along with the ducklings (we can go 3 weeks without it, we got an island and a couch lol) our microwave is on the table too I told DH that the bator with the duck eggs in it is NOT going next to the microwave. god knows what that thing would do to incubating eggs, after all they say NOT to "watch" your food cook! lol
anywho, so we ran outta fuel oil AGAIN! in April, it always runs out in april. I send them money every month so when I need oil I just call and they already have the money. so I called and asked how much money is in there.... $400 but they wont deliver ANY unless I have the minimum order amount (250 gals= $550ish) We dont have $150 this month with DH being off last week WITH OUT unemployment! (thank you congress)
so they won't deliver any! pieces of sh!t! it's MY MONEY and I WANT IT NOW! lol they wont even hold a check till Friday. GRRRR! guess we get to use the electric heaters. I would LOVE to get an outside wood burner. They sell them about 10 miles from here lol but they are expensive. wonder if you can get taxt credits for getting one. lol duckies are whining!

Well.....today is my husband's birthday and 2 things have happened. 1) his wedding band turned up! It had been lost since last monday when he had an MRI done. God is good and it turned up! and then 2) he got the results back from his MRI and he has to have yet a 3rd shoulder surgery! I was trying to laugh with him about it and said maybe he'd be off work again this summer. He had back surgery last year and was off all summer long. The only side to that was the fact that he went back to work the week before I had the baby and didn't have time to take off after she was born. He was ALSO sent out of town that week and left me at home, newly post partum with 4 kids. Thank God for an easy delivery and the fact I didn't physically feel like I'd just given birth at all! Yay waterbirth! ANYWAY, I'm rabbit trailing. I loved having him home all summer. I wouldn't mind. But I'm sad he needs another surgery on his shoulder.

Hey!! stupid question alert! Who do you go through for oil? Do you find it cheaper/ more efficient that natural gas? Does it keep through the summer when youre not using it? How many gallons do you think you go through in the winter? Anyone else having oil can chime in here too. The new house is oil and I'm only used to natural gas. Has radiant hot water heaters. Ie: going price per gallon, how much you tend to use over the winter, etc etc.

Raim, check CL for a wood stove/furnace.... sometimes you can get a great deal. I think my DH picked up a whole house furnace (in decent shape) for around $300. Of course it is in the GARAGE.........

EL, glad your DH found his wedding band...... mine has been missing for a few months so send that Karma this way. Sorry about the shoulder surgery..... that sucks.

Nice Afternoon All... Congrats on all the great hatches, and congrats on your turkey mazojoe, way to go!
I'm gonna have the worst hatch out of everyone.....tossed 19 out of 24 eggs that were clear. I had two pip yesterday before noon....one hatched last night at 10pm and the other is just pipped the same over 24 hours later and the remaining 3 aren't doing anything....looks like i butchered the wrong roo's....looks like I might only have one hatch....what a pain setting up a brooder for one chick. I'm crabby as he!! now.

My bator is running perfect temp and RH.

My internet didn't work yesterday either....don't use frontier...there service sucks...they provide refurbished modems to their customers.

New Energies. its not as dry as forced air (and I like that). yes it keeps through the summer (unless you have a leak)

gallons? maybe 1000? idk 250 gallons at a time X like 4 but the 4th takes us through the summer/fall. $$$ depends on how much a gallon is. good thing is we can run to the gas station and get deisel (same thing, costs more, unless we can get ahold of the non road stuff). we have the radiant water coils too. a tip for ya, we have to turn the furnace OFF on warm days. a thermostat don't do much for ya when it's warmer out side. if the furnace is ON it runs to keep the pipes warm which in the spring and fall just that makes the house 75+ degrees in here. so we just shut it off. another tip, if you run out of fuel you have to prime the lines (I don't do it, I CAN'T stand the smell of that stuff) instant migrain. I like the hot water pipes..... I wish they were in the floors instead of this big box OR long register under every window. I would rather heat the water pipes with an OUT DOOR wood furnace. lol I believe it would be an easy ish conversion??? any other questions? there are no dumb questions lol

got an email from someone with calls, now my delema is do I get a few from them? they are a week younger than the one I have (as in hatching now lol) and will be 2 weeks OLDER than the ones I'm hatching (IF any hatch lol) can I put the newbies in with the 1 week olds? maybe get a bigger bin and divide it? (that sounds good lol, I just thought of that lol) but then where do I put mine when they hatch? maybe have patients and wait for mine? Naaaa! Good grief, first you have one, then....... I knew 2 multiplied but not one lmbo DH is gonna shake his head some more about this

Lolololololololol!! Yah think?! I have the silkies for the boys coming in June. I had favorelles coming with them, but I am changing my mind on that. But I don't have enough bantams to make an order. So I have to fill with more bantams, or a couple full sizes. My thinking was full sizes growing up with bantams might help be protectors because I am going to TRY to have them all together in the one coop. So now what do you have to say sassy girl? I can get Buff Orps, Delawares, or Exchequer Legs to fill the order. Or I could get a few more bantams, but then I felt they would really look conspicuous with no LF growing up with them and the integration.

I wish I had space to set myself up to hatch a brace of eggs.
