Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oh and I forgot to mention, I would like some opinions on some of these tomato plants that I can get. My cousins brought up some friends (couple) that I met. She made a cheesecake that melts in your mouth (I need to get that recipe) as well as my Aunt's famous Danish Applesauce cake (yes an original recipe from Denmark)

Anyway, the friend grows and will sell me some of the following heirloom tomatoes? Any opinions? She is in Sommers WI, just an FYI and will send some up with my cousin in a few weeks.

Dester- pinkish Beefstake
Kellogg Breakfast -1-2 lb Yellow
Gold Medal -Large Gold with red stripes
Silvery fir tree -Med size red 24" high good patio tomato
Emmy -Med Yellow Prize winner for taste
Peach- small yellow
Amish Paste -red
Cor de Beau -wonderful bears well into fall
San Moritz -paste red
Martino Roma -red
Lemon drop -yellow cherry
velvet red - red cherry

I guess all of the seed are from Seed Saver.

Good evening! I have been keeping up but wanted to get some picks of my new acquisition before telling about him and I just have had so much going on here since my last post...OK CAROL...here it is: i BOUGHT A NEW HORSE! Yes, even though DH said I better not bid on any horses at the auction (that Carol the master enabler) said I MUST attend, I did buy one because of FATE! And when FATE tells me to buy--I listen! ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) Really though...he started at $2,000 went down to $200 and I was the ONLY one to bid! I rode him and he is a dream! Here he is!

He is a 16.1 hand Tennessee Walker. I may ride him again tonight...my legs are feeling better...no time like the present to get thrown again right? LOL---yeah I am just kidding...really!

Anyhow...I have been enjoying reading about everyone's adventures! I have been breaking chicks out of eggs because for some reason ALL of my chicks for the MD hatch are shrink wrapped! They are so stuck! I think I will turn the fan off so there is not so much air blowing around...maybe that will work? Got some nice chicks so far though....

Gotta run DD26 just got home and I want to talk to her before she goes and plays her 2 volley ball leagues. DH is in Green Bay for the week so I get to get ready for the bash MYSELF, not that he would really help but...I sure hope the trailer has what we need! LOL! We are planning on leaving when he gets back around noon on Friday...glad he doesnt mind driving!
Later guys! Terri O

I had a couple of replies...maybe later--cant remember!
Congrats on the new boy. How old is he? With some meat on his bones he will be a very very nice looking horse ! Btw what is your worming schedule or are you doing the newly recommended thing and getting their Poopy checked and then deworming accordingly? I went to a Purina clinic that my vet spoke at and he recommends using mostly just ivermectin now and Ivermectin Praziquantil once or twice a year for tapeworms. He doesn't recommend Quest or Quest Plus at all. He said the worms are becomming resistant and to save those for the future when you need to pull out the big guns. Plus I know you have to be very acurate with those and really know your horses weight more so then the others.

I'll be deworming soon, I'm going to use up my safeguard and one other chemical class then I might just stick to his recommendations and use the cheap ivermectin and Eqimax (which I do twice a year) Plus I can use the ivermectin on the goats as well.

Vally vet has ivermectin for $1.99 a tube on sale plus if you buy 6 you get one free. Can't beat that deal. come to $1.70 a tube. Just an FYI for anyone that has horses and goats. Plus you can give a pea size amount to chickens.

Hi all!!
Well, I was awoken this morning by a certain cat who decided that my arm made a terrific early morning play toy....Oh yeah....I should mention that was at 5.....
Maybe I should bring the Certain Cat to the Bash and pawn him off on DrH........

Got the grocery shopping done a I bought TO and others that need GF food stuffs some GF treats for the Bash....They look very yummy.

Other then that, when O got home my Across the Street neighbor was mowing is lawn and asked me if I knew the lost Husky that was in his yard. I said no I did not. Eventually the Hhuskies owners found him. They have 3 Huskies and they got out at 10 last night. One came right home but the other two did not. So they found the one but still had not found the other one so I hope that they can find him. While he has no tags, at least he is microchipped.

That is about it.... just wanted to get all caught up before lunch and getting chores done....
Later!

DrH we live pretty close to each other, Apyl too. Should be able to meet up sometime. I go to LaX off and on too. Sucks about your poor duck BBP. I read goats like to eat bark wonder if a person could go to the county brush site and bring home a load of branches for them? lol Sorry for everyones animal hurts and problems. Nice you have kitty's Cind, lucky you don't have any of FTs skovies they like kittys for snacks. I think I might go to Gaillesville on June 2 to see the show. I doubt I will take anything though. Too late to enter I think. I still havent found any skovies or calls around here on CL. Darn. Well the swallows are doing a good job with the insects. Told the landlady someone is driving really fast thru the yard I think she will do something about it. Didn't tell her it was her husband. Am worried about my dog. The last two years they call her over to the truck and now he just wizzes thru. Hope that ends. As long as they are heirloom tomatoes I am sure they are good. I like the beefys myself. I lost my dog once was the longest 2 hours in my life! Seems like I forgot to say something.

o yah. Read on www.organicconsumers.org that 80% of food in groc store has gmo in it. I intrinsicly knew this but now I have a confirmation. Also read reports on trials that gmos cause inflamations which I suffer from. Always wonderred if this contributed to celiacs. I am craving veggies right now. How strange I used to crave sugary stuff. lol

Let my phoenix X Ameraucana roo out to range today. Most of the other ones are in paddocks. I should put a couple bigger hens out there for him to play with.

Now the only issue is I will be at WORK when the babies are hatching and I will not be here to assist them!

The best laid plans......

Congrats on the hatchings today!!!

Yep, Isis is getting fixed as soon as the kids are weened! Didn't want her to have any but she's so small her heat kinda' snuck up on us
hmm.png
. Tried keeping her in but she would hide and wait 'till we let the dogs out then run out between their legs!

All the other girls are spayed so she'll be just fine.

Co worker sent this out today:
Farmer John Callahan lived on a quiet rural highway. But as time went by,
the traffic slowly built up and became so heavy and so fast
that his chickens were being run over at a rate of three to six a day.
D.gif

So one day Farmer John called the local police station and said, "You've got to
do something about all of these people driving so fast and killing my chickens."
D.gif

"What do you want us to do?" asked the policeman.
"I don't care, just do something about those crazy drivers!"
So the next day the policeman had the Main Road workers
go out erect a sign that said:

SLOW: SCHOOL CROSSING
D.gif

Three days later Farmer John called the policeman and said,
"You've got to do something about these drivers. The school
crossing' sign seems to make them go even faster!"
So, again, the policeman sends out the Main Roads workers
and they put up a new sign:

SLOW: CHILDREN AT PLAY

D.gif

That really sped them up. So Farmer John called and
called and called every day for three weeks.
Finally, he asked the policeman, "Your signs are doing no
good at all ... can I put up my own sign?"
The policeman said, "Sure, go ahead."
He was willing to let Farmer John do just about anything
in order to get him to stop calling to complain.

D.gif

The policeman got no more calls from Farmer John.
Three weeks later, curiosity got the best of the policeman
and he decided to give Farmer John a call. "How's the
problem with those drivers. Did you put up your sign?"
"Oh, I sure did, replied Farmer John, and not one chicken
has been killed since then. I've got to go. I'm very busy."
He hung up the phone.
The policeman was really curious and he thought to himself,
"I'd better go out there and take a look at that sign, it might
be something that WE could use to slow down drivers."
D.gif

So he drove out to Farmer John's house, and his jaw dropped
the moment he saw the sign.
It was spray painted on a sheet of wood....
