Evening All...hope the critters that are sick are feeling somewhat better.

Good advice MLH on the mites...5% sevin for the adults and repeat in 10 days to kill the eggs that hatch after the first dose. Their whole life cycle is less than a week. It needs to be war against the NFM to rid them...they can only survive a month off the bird....keeping the flock dusted is key to success. Good Luck!

I'll check with the neighbors frenchie about the harness and let you know.

I had to go back to the green house for more broccoli plants...I didn't fence them and the rabbits thought they were tasty...all of them...gone. I was gonna be lazy and skip the fence...it's up now...LOL!

The bash is getting close now...sounds like the weather is gonna be nice enough! Glad you can make it Sat Doc...

Nice horse TO.

Nice day here! My oldest daughter spent the night with her Great Grandma last night after going to some mother/daughter thing at Eagles? Or something like that. I don't know exactly. Great Grandma is 93, so it's a really special thing for my kids to be able to spend time with her! She still lives alone, gets around great, does tons of baking, she's amazing!

Anyway, I had to go get her picked her this morning and then I got my daughters results to her Scantron test. she did really well! She's in 3rd grade and scored Advanced in Reading and very high, almost advanced in Math. Then my friend, Jen came and worked in the garden for a bit while her kids entertained mine. She got another 2 rows of potatoes planted and some more carrots, then her and I watered everything. The ground is SO dry!

I picked up some sweet potatoe starts today. Not sure yet where to plant them. I had my garden all planned out with all the viney stuff down on one end. I'd like to put the sweet potatoes down there too but I'll have to wait til hubby gets back to til up a couple of rows for me there.

So far, here's what all we've got growing- Everything organic and most of it is also Heirloom stuff I started from seed.

In the lettuce garden we planted

Peas
Tatsoi
Spinach
Lettuce Mix

Then herbs are-

Parsley
Sage
Rosemary
Oregano
Thyme
Basil
Cilantro
Garlic

The main garden area has-

Red potatoes
Sweet corn
Watermelon
Cucumber - pickling and salad
Summer Squash
Zucchini
Red and Green Cabbage
Broccoli
Cauliflower
Celery
Green beans
Tomatoes
Red and White Onions
Beets
Salad Mix
Red Romaine
Boston Head lettuce
Spinach
Strawberries

I LOVE gardening, can ya tell? LOL

OK, here they are! Less than 24 hours old! Mom is such a little thing herself

Evening all!
So I got most of the tomatoes either in the garden or in their containers. I just have the Ace 55's to plant. I had a tomato plant that had two "stalks" so I split one off and potted it. If anyone is interested in a heirloom tomato plant I will bring it to the Bash. It is a Riesentraub. They have small red tomatoes that grow in clusters kinda like grapes. This is the first year I'm trying them.
The Mortgage Lifter had a second stalk too and I planted that in a planter since I had no pot handy, he's kinda small but happy and if some one wants that one, let me know and I can repot that one and bring him to the Bash as well.

I also planted a little Italian Flat Leaf Parsley plant for the bunnies to enjoy....if it lives!! No biggie if it doesn't.

BL4-Sorry about your kitty.

And yes an excellent idea about you catching a ride to the Bash with a fellow BYCer!

Yr an inspiration EL!

Oh Cind, so adorable!

Thanks for the hugs about the hen guys! Have to decide if I'd like to add any others to the mix.

Yoinked lots of Nightshade, brambles and accursed Burdocks that have been creeping in at the back of my flower garden. I'm finding myself swearing at each one as I yoink it!

And am delighting to find some of the underground roots leading to dead ends where I yoinked up another plant earlier in the season and last year. Am making a teeeeensy weeensy impact at least! Was awesome that we had showers this aft! Made the yoinking easy! Sadly, my story is now concluded and I have no other use for derivatives of the word yoink.

EL - I'm envious I could only wish my garden was that large. Someday I will get better at gardening and someday I will have a huge garden :)

Cindlady - they are so stinking cute. I wish DH and I didnt agree on no more pets lol Well at least we did also agreed we need more chickens and ducks ;)

Not to much happened here today. I took my relaxing mothers day a few days late, since I did yard work on mothers day and still had to cook and such I decided today I would chill and finish my book I was reading. Now I need to make a trip to the library. For some odd reason my Kindle isnt downloading, it always did before. I'm hoping maybe if I try at the library it will work with their wifi. No idea what to read next any suggestions ?
