Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Good evening--had to catch up on the "news." I have to tell you about Carol and my ride this afternoon...the new guy (Commander, 11YO TN walker Gelding) was fabulous! We decided to stop at the river and see if they wanted a drink. Well I finally got him stopped when the water was up to his chest and my ankles! I guess He has no problem with water crossings! I thought Carol was going to wet right up there on MY saddle! She was laughing Ho Ho Ho like Santa Claus! THen we crossed a bit of a ditch and he went right thorough! His head sure was on a swivel though...had to keep looking all around. Brodie (my other horse) did very well I thought with Carol. THey needed to have a meeting of the minds in the beginning. It is nice to see another person riding so I can see what he does with his feet when gaiting.

I have a few chicks in my chick TV that are puzzling me. Maybe someone has an idea? There are these two that hatched yesterday that are scratching and scratching like a dog scratching at its ear! THey scratch so hard it makes them fall over on their backs! I looked for bugs...nothing. THe only think I can think of is that there is a bit of albumin left on their feathers, could that be making them itch so frantically? THey look like they want to scratch their eyes out!

OK I need to hit the hay--sweet dreams all! TErri O

Why, Cind, why?????????????????

Please don't show me adorable kitten pics................

Those books sound very interesting, Bf4. Think I'll check them out too.

I wish I had half of that garden space.

Did a bunch of work out by the chickens today. Came in to start getting together stuff for the bash, then had to zoom back out to get the chickens all in because a wicked line of storms came through. Got some rain but not nearly enough. It was mostly wind, and it moved through really quick, so the girls could come back out to play in the mud for a while before bedtime. At 9pm I switched the chicken cam on only to see that 2 of the cameras weren't working.

So on went the headlamp to see what the issue was. 5 of the lavs were not in the coop. Instead, they are piled up on top of a bunch of straw bales in the far corner on the other side of the dust bath area. Stupid chickens. The one I strongly suspect is a roo was the only one in the coop with everyone else. Hmmmm............sounds like the wind picked up again. Better check the radar and give the cat his pills & injection. Sweet dreams, all!

Who has turkey poults? What breed and are you bringing any to the Bash???? ( Jim).......
