Cute chick pics!
Hope the hatching goes better than the last.
Guess that is a good deal on the 'bator.

Need to sleep! ....night!
Pay him a visit next winter and set his thermostat down to 5o degrees and put a lock box on it. Tell him all the things he can buy with the savings !!!!
For crying out loud, I'd just say, don't you think I (YOUR MOTHER) is worth the expense ????? Here's to them

Ahhhh.....finally all caught up! Too much to remember and report on!

Happy Memorial Day weekend and a HUGE Thank you to all of our terrific and much beloved veterans out there! Hug to you all!!!

Got a nice rain storm Friday night and it was much needed. All the new plants in flower bed were very happy to get a good soak. They all perked right up!

Ummm...lets see oh yes, as I stated the other night I got the flower bed planted but needed to finish it off with mulch. So yesterday the DH and I went to Maynards and I got more mulch and a patio block stone thingy for the bird bath that I wanted to place in the flower bed. I also got a neat little cheap copper type rooster garden stake decoration as well. Then we went to a couple of other garden centers to try to find a specific type of apple tree I wanted. We found it at K&W and luckily the fruit trees were $10 off so that was not to bad. So I got my Courtland apple tree. I love Courtlands. They make the best apple to dehydrate and for pies....and too eat. I have two apple trees (a Honeycrisp and a Sweet 16) already and they should cross pollinate but if not I have room to plant another apple tree.

After we came back home, I got the flower bed all done with mulch and the patio stone and I planted some columbines and sea tuft around the patio stone. Kinda pretty. We'll see how they all do.
Then I took a quick shower to rinse of the dirt and then we went to see MIB 3. We enjoyed it very much! Will Smith cracks me up!

As far as this morning goes, I got the critters all taken care of but I need to check on the rabbits after I'm done here. It's hot out there and I'm sure they need their frozen tiles. I normally use frozen water bottles in their cages to cool them off but I got a tip about using frozen terra cotta tiles instead. So we will have to see how that goes.

I also got the bird bath scrubbed moved to it's new home. So other then I few finishing touches, here are some pics of the new flower bed! I have a gazing ball on order and that will go in the bed too.

I should have taken a picture at the very beginning, before I tore out the weeds but ah well, here is the pic after the weeds got taken out and DH tilled:

Another before pic:

And here is an after pic!!:

Another After:

Taaaaaahhhh Daaaaaaahhhh!!!

With that I have to go check the rabbits and hang my flag....
BBL!!
Nice !! I love Hosta's. I had tons of different varieties but lost alot when I moved them up here.
Anyway if you want to ad a nice colory touch to your hosta bed plant some impatiens inbetween each hosta. They will fill in nicely by fall and it looks nice. I'd take a picture of my hosta bed but all of the hosta's are hidden in the weeds !!!

If anyone is in need of any 8'lanscape timbers (hardly timbers but hat is what they call them) I saw they are on sale for $1.97 at Maynards. Then I knew Home Depot will match and beat Menards price so I looked them up on line. They are on sale for get this $.97. Of course they are all out in Rhinelander and Wausau but should get more in this week. The sale ends on Wednesday but the guy thought they might extend the sale.
I got the brown coated ones from HD over a year ago and we built one of our chicken runs with them. They have held up great. So just an FYI to keep your eyes on Home Depot for them. They normally sell for over $3 !!! Just sayin !!!

Sounds like just the perfect thing to keep my large feathered rototillers from tunneling their way into the back side of my little greenhouse and garden that borders the south side of their run. I have gotten those girls wayyy too healthy wayyyy to fast

Unk --- Last night I had my Buff Orpington roo try to do the deed with one of my Mallards. lol He's also 12 weeks old, I wasn't expecting this behavior for a while now.

Twizzle--- Very cute baby, its soooo little .

MLH -- Great Job on the flower bed !

Afternoon everyone. I hope everyone is having a good Memorial Day weekend and staying cool today. All the weekenders are in town, you'd think it was an ATV convention on our road. We've had no plans for this weekend. I did make some broccoli salad and am cooking Brats tonight for dinner. And of course I ran out of Propane for the grill the other day so looks like I'm cooking the brats in the house. I kicking Shifu out tonight to the coop, I fixed up a large dog crate we had and put it in the coop so she'll be safe from the stupid Production Red roosters. The reds are the last ones to accept Shifu and keep trying to attack her. DH decided to let me butcher off all the production reds :) so now just a few more weeks until they become dinner. Then my flock should be all good. My mallards are molting like crazy and my one big boy mallards almost has all his male colors. He is looking so cool. DH and I are going back and forth trying to decide to clip their wings or not.

Well I guess thats about it. I hope everyone has a great day.
