Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

I don't know of anyplace to buy wafers around here.. the screw is a #10 fine thread, I believe..
Your best bet is to get it where you buy the wafer, just to make sure it fits..

I never said that it was cheap to set up trays for the sportsman gqf.. I just said it is possible.
However I did build some wooden framed trays with wire bottoms for one of them.. I hardly ever use those trays anymore.. I have stacks of the plastic egg holders that I use mostly..

...........jiminwisc..........
Where did you find the plastic egg holders? Is there a way to get them to turn? I have some ideas to fab some trays at home... potentially making an auto turner... oh boy...

I think I got myself in trouble...

I use Eprinex. Actually, I did a few birds the other day that feel thin and dont want to go in the coop at night.
These goat bucklings are driving me nuts! My last goats were not this dumb and annoying. I'm thinking about selling the brown one. He's just an idiot. They cry all the time. And there is nothing wrong with them, they are mad because they are in a pen. They have started eating leaves so they have to be. One butts the bottle so much I'm covered in milk whenever I feed him. I tried putting it in a bucket, but they are way too brain dead to comprehend it. If someone gave me the money I have into them I would sell them in an instant, even if they were going for meat. Maybe I need to put up a Craigslist ad. I have too much going on to take on these little beasts. And my husband will not help me with anything.

Oh thats too bad. You hate to have that happen. Can't you keep it for butcher.may be knowing you were going to do that would make him more tolerable?

Sorry Jim. Didn't mean to confuse you. Our "river" is a rock lined channel running about 100+ feet from the house to the fork in our driveway where the sump pump empies out. We had corrugated pipes at first, but there was no good place for the water to go. Our sump kicks on alot & anywhere the hose went, a small pond would develop. So I had this great idea to put in a river for the water to run down, then when it got to our driveway fork, DH buried some pipe under the driveway & dug a channel for the water to continue to follow until it got to the ditch by the road. Well, after a month straight of digging rocks out of the treeline & lining the river with them, it looked absolutely beautiful. We even put a little bridge over it. But by the 3rd year, it became a magnet for algae, leaves and every single weed seed in the tri-county area, not to mention a mosquito hatchery until the sump finally quits running, usually late July.

So now the river is more of a pain in my behind than I care to admit. I do believe I was

about it on here last summer too.

Twiz, that is a cute chickie!

MLH, wow, nice job on the garden!

Dan, pretty flowers! I love your arbor too.

Bigz, I watched the race too. Didn't feel like doing too much else with the heat.

I did help DH make 4 nest boxes, though. We got 8 eggs today & 8 yesterday, so 2 boxes were not enough, especially when it is one of the old biddies turns. They are so sassy to the youngsters.

Well, better get to bed. Lots to do tomorrow. Thanks to all the vets who gave selflessly for the freedoms we are blessed with.

Have a safe and wonderful holiday, everyone, and sweet dreams!

Our little duckling seems to have either a broken toe, or just a very bruised foot. He will walk if he has to and when swimming he will not use it much. I think he will be ok but of course it is a time will tell kind of thing.

Since the kids have Monday off I thought I would see if their Aunt and Uncle along with Grandma and Grandpa would like to have a cookout and go fishing. We settled in at the little park on the North end of Lake Poygan just outside Tustin. We had such a good time! I think everyone caught at least one fish, my daughters BF caught the biggest one; a barely legal Bass (13 1/2"). Made hamburgers, and hot dogs, and of course brought all the stuff to make s'mores! I managed to snag a few pics too, I got some pretty cute shots of my daughter and the BF and of my in-laws.

Going to watch the kids march in the morning and then RELAX all day! (Maybe get to that elusive weeding....)

Night all!

Hi all!,

Sounds like everyone had a decent hot day. Things are fair here, didn't go out much. Had ribs on the grill. Birds did OK in the heat. I'm tired... night all.

Ugh... Can't sleep. Too hot. So here I am...thinking about the excitement for the day. Maybe painting the coop addition we did in April. Weeding, napping... Ya know... An exciting day. Found a great deal on pork chops so I know that is dinner... On the grill with a1 sauce or breaded or ???? Have to one up with something good. I better try sleep again soon. Kids are up early every day. Waiting until they appreciate sleep.... I know it I'll happen someday

Ken, you don't have to make a turner for your gqf.. It already has one..

either on the left side or the right side at the top and way to the rear is a toggle switch ,, spring loaded.. If you hold this switch in the way up position, the trays will turn.. If you just let the switch go, the trays will stop.. If you push the switch down, the trays will turn automatically every 2 hours or so.. I usually manually turn the trays to tilt position, and then push the switch down to set the timer in motion..

I ordered my trays from Cutler's.. I have a catalog.. I can look up the part numbers and prices for you if you are interested..

Good Wet morning Again! Don't think I'll need to water for at least a week. Jim couldn't agree more! Happy mem day? Just glad that so many do appreciate those that have given it all! Got outside and back just in time before it poured just now. Had to get water out to the kids, cover the Case engine and check the garden. Taking the rest of the day off. Right after....... Ken was thinking you were in trouble when you started talkin about that bator.

Things went very well yesterday despite the heat. Both the older kids got to drive the tractor sittin on my lap. So now I'm the coolest guy on the planet.

Thankfully cooler weather ahead!

good morning, thanks CC for setting me straight about your "river" I will try to remember it next year when you start b1tching about it again..

I sat outside and just sat outside and had my cuppa today.. shirtless,, not one mosquito landed on me.. I wonder if 30 guineas patrolling the yard had anything to do with that ?

If we can just get through the next week without a surprise frost, it looks like a bumper crop of blackberries is in the making.. I haven't seen so many blossoms for years.. even the volunteer patch is loaded..

the sun was out, but it sort of clouded up and a few drops of rain came down.. I was hoping for no rain until at least tonight so I can till the bean patch again.. If this rain persists, I am going to just hand broadcast the bean seeds and hope for the best..

...........jiminwisc..........

Oh, I'm pretty sure you'll hear me b!tching about it plenty this year yet, Jim.
lau.gif

Do you make any wine with your blackberries?
Not a cloud in the sky down here, yet. Looks to be another hot one. Plenty of squitoes down here though.

Stay cool, everyone, and have a great holiday!
