Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Oooookay, so I've got some pics for y'all!!!!

First off, when raspberries go wild and no container can hold them!!!

So here are the results of my tomato project. I have no idea how well it will work, but I liked the video Dan posted about stringing tomatoes and wanted to use that method in the garden.

Not to be left out, the tomato plants in the containers got the same treatment!

So there you have it! My tomato project!!!

Good evening everyone! I too, have some pictures for you! Must be a day for that hey? I went to Menard's and it was a ZOO! I think everyone was thinking this weekend is the LAST weekend to plant gardens! So I bought a few things to take up my time:
Yeah like I need more stuff to do hey? Oh well, the yard will look nice anyhow! You cant see all the seeds I got...I got a bunch planted tonight after I baited the traps for tonight. I sure hope I catch that rascal or rascals!
So I was planting some stuff and I sat down for a little bit. I dont know why I decided to take a look at the side burner on the grill...look what I saw in there!
I did a double-take! Doesnt it look like he's smiling? DD came out with her camera to take some pics of him too. I was holding him and his feet are very sticky. He is bright yellow inside his back legs. I am going to take a look and see if I can identify him.
So I am super tired and am off to bed! Nighties! Terri O

TO that is a common Grey Tree Frog; they can be that dusky grey color or a green shade. I LOVE them! They make the COOLEST noise! FM just found one the other day as well.

I have 10 eggs pipped! ALL of Taffy's eggs have developed and are set to hatch, I gave them a little bit of help by pipping the eggs for them.... whoever is still kicking tomorrow I will assist with the zipping if possible. I am a little bit concerned since NONE of these babies are making ANY noise at all. No peeping just breathing......

News at 11 as they say....

Night all!

Boy oh boy! Busy over here. I had 6 silkies hatch! One of them had his intestines out of his abdomen. Poor baby! One has curled over toes, and is in a splint. That re of course very cute. So now we have 2 two wk olds and 5 newbies.

Where to put them?! Spent the day cleaning out all the brooders on this farm! Four brooders were scooped out, scraped clean, , washed, refilled and chicks moved. I moved my lavender and black orpingtons, my EEs, and my Aussies to the outside brooder in the coop. Moved the Icelandics, the guineas, and older silkies downstairs. The new silkies are out of the Bator. I cannot believe how much work it was! And those dang ducks got their brooder cleaned to, messy monsters!

I have got to go sleep now! Sleep typing here...

I can't wait to get my Chanteclere and DOMINIQUE from Carol so I too can be part of the egg club! Of course that Dominque will love it here, much more so than someONE else's house... CC...

Yes BBP, by whitish, I meant an extremely light brown egg. Sorry for the confusion. Cute hen, BTW.

Jim, I sure hope your puppy has a good home with the Amish. Personally, I do not care for the way they treat/regard their animals. Too funny the story about you getting honked at & missing the lights.

I had to read that one to DH. He laughed too.
MLH, how the heck did BTB reach to get the pull strings on your ceiling fan??????
ep.gif
That is one high-jumping kitty! He sounds just like how my Junior used to be. Never even had to look when we heard a crash. It was always Junior. Lil snot.
roll.png
And we had 4 kittens at the time.

Lol! Marg, did you do a double take at my twin?
wink.png
It was a fun weekend, wasn't it?
smile.png

Carol, hope you're feeling much better!

You too, FT & ET!

Vicki, trying to integrate a single bird into an existing flock can be rather challenging. The single bird will be pecked on constantly. Since you only have 4 birds, I'd get at least 2 if it were me, so they can pal around together. In my experience, whenever I add new birds, the new ones form their own little "click" in the flock, so I have different groups that like to hang around together. Safety in numbers kind of thing, perhaps. HTH, and good luck!

For your misfires, try mixing your calcium in with your feed for a few days & see if that helps. If you can get to the eggs before they crack them open, they might loose interest?
hu.gif
Good luck on that one too. I personally like Aussies and Doms as good flockmates. They are pretty even in size and temperament. I love my orps, but they are larger & tend to pick on my Doms & Aussies quite a bit. Just my 2 cents.

Twiz, cute chik pics!

Congrats on all the hatches!

Hooray, I am finally caught back up! I was 8 pages behind. Yesterday DH had a band gig, so much of the afternoon & evening were pretty well shot. It was an outdoor one. Can you say "Brrrrrr"?!?!? And I dressed for the weather! Shoulda brought a blanket. The weather was so nice today that we said screw it, let's ride and went for a nice long bike trip. That was fun. Now I'm pooped. Must sleep. CRS anyway, and if I missed anyone, I am sorry. Sweet dreams, all!

Hi all!

One of those days when I got allot accomplished...but nothing really DONE.
hmm.png
Spent hours looking for my drill off and on....turns out young son had it

2nd son and the grandkids where here most of the afternoon. He brought what is done of the plucker... he's having a hard time finding a cheap gear set... everything else we scrounged! I still have to buy fingers. Other than that it's done... looks nice.
I guess the 3rd is SUN.

so I'm making Young son's birthday cake tonight, just taking a break and letting the egg whites warm a bit, I had to pull a couple from the fridge.

Congrats on the hatches! May they be strong, healthy little critters!

Night all!

Weird but I'm saying good morning again and it's the end of my day !!!

Well, got one of the duck pens done today anyway. Then I did some browsing on CL and found two things we had to go look at and ended up purchasing.
One was an enclosed 13' trailer with a double axle. Needs tires and lights but the guy took $25 over my offer for it. DH will someday redo the sides but in the mean time I'm going to use it for a brooder. I want chickens/chicks out of my house !!
Then I found a lawn sweeper in excellent shape.

They were both in the Tomahawk area. Then on the way home there was a farm with a field of beautiful horses, donkeys (standard and minis), mini horses, mini donkeys and mini mules and two POA's. Had to stop and talk to the guy to see if any of the donkeys were for sale. My farrier is still looking for spotted mini donkeys and I fell in love with the spotted standards they had. They weren't for sale though
th.gif

A few of his horses were a bit thin and he said some people tried turning him in. I have to say you could see the ribs on some of them but they definately were not starving. Then when I looked at mine tonight, even though they are drafts, mine are FAT !!!

We stopped at a bar & grill in Rhinelander and while we were there a wagon with a team of Belgians pulled in. I remember talking to the owner of the horses last summer. They only charge $12 for the ride and it goes all the way around Lake George and stops at 5 bars for about 5-20 minutes and at a Resturant for dinner. AND the BEST part was I talked to the driver/owner again tonight and he told me to stop by anytime. He love to drive horses and he said if I paid his gas money he'd come over and help me out driving my team of spotted drafts. He also kept asking me if I'd sell my team of Spotted Drafts because he sold his. They were 15 yrs old and he said they had made allot of trips around Lake George and it was time.
He said he got $10,000.00 for the team. I asked DH if he would sell ours if we could get $10,000.00 and he said h3ll ya !!! And I said H3LL NO !!! LOL
The belgians he was driving tonight were both 11 yrs old. They were the new style of belgians, tall and lean, not like the old style like I have, big and fat !! LOL
Anyway, he had another young man with him helping him out because he was in an accident two weeks ago. He had a team of black percherons hitched and there was a round bale of hay behind the horses (don't know if he was moving it or what) but a deer jumped out from behind the round bale and spooked the team. The guy was standing in front of the horses and he litterally got run over by both of them. He sure must love horses !!! He had his arm in a sling. He dislocated his shoulder. After they ran him over he got caught up in some sort of drag he had them hitched to and they dragged him I don't remember how far. A neighbor found him laying in the ditch. WITHOUT ANY CLOTHES, they all (even undies) got shredded and scrapped off of him !!

After we got home first thing I did was check my bator. I have about 15 chicks hatched. About another dozen pipped and about a dozen that I don't think are going to amount to anything.
I helped one chick again but it didn't make it. So TG it's bed time so I quite interferring !!!

Oh and Jim, the goats that Wave was going to buy left with their owner. You're not bringing your pups to the swap are you?
Oh and remember I told you about that ice cream shop on 45 and it was closed.......... Well they are open for business again !!!

So is fathers day June 10th? If so I may have to go to a graduation for my nephew in BD at his mom's house. My brother is having another party for him in Racine on the 23rd which I want to go to.

Ok, well I took my ambien sleeping pill and I'm sleep typing. Farrier is coming tomorrow morning so I must make an attempt to get some Zzzzz's

ps Jim I need to pm you with my new email address. I'd like to join your swap group again. My frontiernet email address got deleted after I canceled my land line.

Ok starting to knod off here. Night all

ok wildlife experts... need your thoughts. We have noticed that every night one of the 5 birdfeeders attached to a pole just outside the back door is knocked down every night. We were thinking deer or coon... but got these pics- huge cat? coon? woodchuck? porcupine? not sure... Notice the fuzzy lump in bottom left of bright pic. It is not there ( and nothing is still outside) in that corner so I am guessing that is our fiend... this is why I said porcupine...

Morning all!!
Terrific day out there so far! I've already got a load of laundry done and ready to go into the dryer. I've swept the floors and tidied up the bathroom too. The critters are all fed and watered and all their water containers got a good scrub while I was at it. It's almost 8 am and I feel like it should be 10!!
Congrats on the hatches everyone!

TO -nice plants and cute frog!! Love his? her? color!

Tom-Good to hear from you corner of the world again!

CC-Sounds like you have fun! BTB can reach the fan pulls mostly because our ceiling is sorta low. It's a huge game with him. He almost became a Porch Kitty the other night when he turned on the lights to the fan....at 1:30 in the morning!!

FT- You should sell the Spotted Drafts! hehehe Just think how many chickens you can get for 10 grand!!
