The girls and I went over to the new neighbors house to introduce ourselves....I get a really strange vibe from the guy and I didn't meet his wife, but so far very odd people. Supposedly there are only 2 people living there and 4 vehicles????? They also have 2 dogs, one of which howls all of the time (hound call).
Ha! You'd have flipped at my parents house when we were all still living there. At our highest point, we had 22 vehicles between 5 people.

I am really excited to hatch some babies for the first time in three years!!! Send me a message if you have some. :p Going to search craigslist now!!

Any suggestions for saddling this high-withered beast? I was thinking a cut back pad and gaited saddle. But I have NO idea about saddles. I've just been reading online.

In my opinion you need to use an Arabian Saddle with a pad that has a cut back for the withers. He looks to be very short backed to me. I have an excellent book from the library "Pain-free Back and Saddle fit Book" very intensive! it is by Joyce Harman, DVM See it you can get it from your library...it is very informative! Guess I should have pre-read the post.

Got a call about an hour ago and went and picked up the plucker. It's the horizontal drum type. MAN it's HOT out there!

good day folks,,,,,,,well except for Joe anyway,,,,thinking the fever already set in with him if he is butchering that tick off

did have 1/2" of rain, so guess that makes it a 1/2 million dollar rain,,,,perfect timing for my garden, things looking great

so,,,today I got the much talked about "free lunch",,,,,,,my feed supply place was having their grand opening, burgers, brats, etc

pony rides for the kids,,,that was entertaining. They had 3 feeder pigs left to sell,,,,,so tempted to get 2 of those to raise out tomorrow (maybe they will sell and save me) and yes I did buy 200lbs of feed so not free lunch exactly

Here's a question,,,,when the day old chicks came that they were selling, the kid that unpacked them simply dumped all the black ones in a big tote,,,,,,,any thoughts on telling the difference between BSL and Black Aussie day old pullets?,,,,one chick in the bunch had a white spot on it's head,,so my guess is that was a missed roo BSL,,,unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any difference in the rest of them???

Fish Fry Friday All... not a drop of rain here....sure hope you thank the Creator for blessing you with the life giving drink....we are holding on, but results are gonna suffer at this point.

The outside cooker fried another fish fry of perfection...haddock, ho-made frys and potato puffs from mashed yesterday....why go out to eat? Did i mention broccoli heads dipped in ho-made salsa?

Pluckin ain't so bad Doc...You got the time to get er done. If you get a plucker, can I borrow it?

Do your rain dances for tomorrow night. Rummage was not big today so hoping for tomorrow. Have so much tuff we need to sell it. Must go soon.
Ugh, I have a BO that went broody again. Silkies don't often, but she does. Put two eggs under her but not sure how fertile. Second day I tried to break it with the heat but she is not interested. Putting food and cool water in coop by her. I know there is a chance a chick might hatch in the incubator soon...if I make her brood time short... Like a week long and stick a new chik under her...will that break it?would she accept it?
