Wisconsin "Cheeseheads"

Bigfam, everyone brings chairs to the Bigz Bash, so I don't think bringing them by you would be a problem?

I have a folding table I could bring along too.

ETA: Moose's kids were starting to lay at 13 weeks. And those lav orps from those eggs I got from you are all girls and they are starting to lay now too.

rain, much needed, but not all at once.. my garden was under 6 inches of water this afternoon.

I am thinking of getting a load of dirt and plugging up the high end of my culvert.. that might direct the water across the road and not across my garden.. when the town re-did the road, they made a feeble attempt at making a ditch along my field.. all summer/spring I was thinking of plowing a dead furrow along the edge of the garden.. I could have, should have done it.. and I will do it as soon as the ground dries up again..

I am afraid that all my corn seed washed away..

the plants I put in, and the plants that were already growing did not wash out, at least..
and the hay mulch stayed in place, too.. before the rain came, I hauled a load of hay to the garden.. the tractor sunk about 8 inches into the dirt/mud.. after the rain, I walked down a row, about 2 steps in, I sunk in .. it was like quick sand.. the tractor would have been up to the axle..

too tired to post any more..

No rain here and I haven't watered in 2 days. I think I'll get up early tomorrow morn and set the sprinkler on auto pilot for awhile in the garden while I go back to sleep for a bit!

Big Fam - I think it is reasonable for you to ask everyone attending to bring what they need! Easy peasy!

Chicken look-out. Still considering getting a few pullets around laying age 20 weeks. PM me if you have any. TO- you still have your Aussies?

Its been busy here. The 2 DD's started summer band today and DS started cub scout camp. I drove around like a taxi cab this morning before heading to work!

I'm falling asleep, off I go, night all!

dvang, the pond was here when we bought the house, the original owner had it dug. It's like the blue lagoon from all the pond dye we add to keep the weeds down. It seems 10x bluer now against the beach sand!
Oh and Mazo NEEDS me to point out that while the renown Wollersheim Winery is only one mile away from me
And that reminds me, there is a fantastic little winery a mile from me too, called Trout Springs. They do not water their wine down, so it is stroooooooong stuff. This is me after one glass -->

Sure hope your little girl gets over her heart break. Remind her better now than if they were married a few years.

BigZ... Sorry about your hen... "The Boys" can be so hard on the hens. I'm going to have to lock all mine up soon and give the girls a rest! I have 3 with injured legs now because of them!

YES very hot, KristiP got my pipping egg plus another. The pipper hatched out yesterday afternoon. So hopefully the other two will hatch and she will be a good momma.
I have been opening the "critter" room, so the air conditioner air can get in on the chicks.

I have an order for 7 dozen eggs.. luckily I am getting almost a dozen a day!!. I have eggs due to hatch so lets keep fingers crossed.
Stay Frosty out there!!

Not expecting the power to hold. The other day power was out for 13 hours, sigh.

Jim~sorry about your garden. By the looks of the radar you must be getting wet this morning too. We are under a warning right now but as long as there's no hail my gardens should be ok because I am in sand country. We had lakes in the yard and run yesterday and they disappeared within an hour or so. We already have over 3" in the past 24 hours or so and it's raining hard right now. I really feel sorry for the folks that are down stream from us, especially on the Wolf.
