the storm fell apart just as it hit Post Lake,

No damage more rain. Whoops, here comes another downpour and the temp is dropping like a rock. It is going to be some GREAT sleeping weather tonight!!!!

OK, I suppose it is time for me to post again.. I posted yesterday and lost the post.. so I just got P!$$ed off and didn't try again.. let me begin by saying ode to sh!t.. that is how yesterday went..

we had some serious wind with the storms,, especially the second one.. took the tops off of 3 of our wind - break pines, and knocked a large trunk of the maple tree next to the house down.. It in turn fell across the electrical drop and ripped the meter base off the house.. we didn't lose power, but the wire was on the ground.. Annie was in town, so I called her and told her to stop in at WPS and report it.. they were here within the hour.. then we called an electrician who did a lot of commercial work for me when I was contracting.. he was here within a half hour.. surveyed the damage and radioed for one of his guys to come right out.. everything was put back together in less than an hour.. we are still waiting for the insurance adjuster to get here to asses the damage to the house.. he is supposed to come tomorrow..

one of my favorite nephews called today. he lives in Manitowoc. he is coming on Friday to cut the rest of that maple down.. I guess he is worried that I will have a heart attack if I do it all alone.. I already have the first branch cut up and hauled to the burn pile.. 5 loads with the tractor.. I just chained the branches together and dragged them with the tractor..

we just had another nice soaker come through about an hour ago.. still too soft to walk in the garden yet.. However, the corn did sprout and it is still in rows..

I put the last puppy on Craig's list.. It was flagged within 2 hours.. basstirds !!

I have a whole bunch of guinea keets in the TV. they are Marlene's.. I will call her tomorrow.. also a few chicken chicks..

I will have to do a head count soon.. Annie thinks that 2 turkeys were taken by the fox..

I think there was more, but I forgot ..

Vickie, we asked Wave if she knew if you were there.. WTH ?? she does know you, doesn't she ??

Ok Amy... I hate the pond. I hate the beach. I hate the umbrella shielding the little boys who will play under it. I hate it all!!! And I hate that Greenleaf is 2 hrs and 40 min away... That part really sucks @ss...

Folks, I am quite serious about a little beach Bash. Hafta make sure it's a good weather day, the house is really not condusive to large groups. Large being 5 people, lol!

Hey I did something way fun today. I recommend everyone try it. I got my legs and arm pits waxed. It didn't hurt...at...all. I think some of you very hairy manly men should do it! I think a field trip for Bigz, Doc, Jim, and Tom would be perfect! Any girls want to watch the waxing proceedings of these men with me?

No rain yet. I am tempted to go do a Frenchie rain dance. What?? You don't know what that is? Well it's a naked rain dance of course! I think the extra jiggle will attract the rain. Just a feeling I have...

I'm still waiting for Amyables response on my beach post...

My car apparently has been crushed by a tree branch! I am so mad at my husband right now. He works in Colorado and was supposed to be home for 10 days. He came home last Thursday and decided "they needed him" so he flew out on Monday. In my eyes he wasted over $200 to spend 3 days out there. He comes back tomorrow. He calls me tonight to inform me that he left the car at a friend's instead of parking at the airport and a tree branch fell on it, breaking the windshield and denting the car all up. My reaction is "this is all your fault. If you would have stuck to your flight plans the car would not have been parked there." Part of me hopes it's totaled so I don't have to deal with getting it repaired and the insurance company wanting to pay for aftermarket parts.

Ok Ok, if it's still raining up here tomorrow I will do the dance for you !!! It's actually a ride naked on the atv. It will have to be Dh's atv though cause mine isn't working.......forgot to mention that earlier when I was having a pitty party !!! LOL
Hope no one comes up to the house when I do it though !!!!! Gross !! LOL
I will have to wear a shoe though cause I have chickens now !! I didn't have them when I did my last naked streaking on the atv. I don't want to slip on the chicky poo !!! LOL It's really a mess up here !!

Amyable..... Thanks for signing. It has made a difference already. Supposedly the donkey roping rodeo has been cancelled but they are still trying to get the guy to turn over his donkeys to a rescue. Plus they are trying to get this to air on CNN to get the attention it deserves. It is going on a lot in Texas. Donkeys are a dime a dozen down there I guess.
I would take a few of those poor donkeys if one of the rescues up here got any of the donkeys. Did I mention earlier that I HATE SOME PEOPLE !!!! Geez !!! Macho Cowboys ...... NOT !!!

Ps Bf4me I'll let you know AFTER I do the dance/ride so no one gets on satelite to watch !!! LOL GROSS I tell ya !!!! LOL

Sad news here..... both the ducking and Maggie did not make it. They were still with us at noon but by late afternoon both were gone. (Maggie was the grey/white/black duck I brought to the Bash with the babies). I am trying to understand what is going on??? Are they eating something that is highly toxic? If they are, why would it take this long for the to get sick from something? I have had the ducks for over 2 years and suddenly I am losing babies and adults...... it does not make any sense.... Maggie was just fin yesterday morning and by evening was sluggish.....

Now just for all you lushes on here; I am making Rum and Coke Ice cream for my boss' birthday tomorrow. Here is the recipe.

2/3 c dark run (Meyer's) split
8 egg yolks
1 c sugar
3 c milk
1 1/2 c whipping cream
2 t corn starch
2T corn syrup
1/2 t salt
coke

Combine 1/3 c rum with 2/3 c coke and put in a shallow pan in the freezer and allow to freeze in a thin layer.

Place cream and 2 c milk in a heavy bottom saucepan with sugar, salt, and corn syrup, turn heat to med. Mix remaining milk with cornstarch and set aside. Whip eggs until light and thickened. Once milk mix has come to a simmer, turn off the heat and carefully ladle some of the hot milk into the eggs, whisking the whole time until you have added enough milk to heat up the eggs. Pour egg mix into pan and turn the heat back on to low and continue stirring until milk thickens (before you get scrambled eggs...) add remaining milk with cornstarch and continue heating until starch has cooked. Add the remaining 1/3 c rum and 1/2 c of coke. Pour into a heatproof container (or a plastic bag) and cool in ice bath then place in fridge. Mix must be completely cool before making the ice cream. Get your ice cream maker ready according to the directions. Before you pour the milk into the ice cream maker, add another cup of coke. While your ice cream maker is running, take a fork and shred the frozen rum and coke into tiny ice crystals. When you put the ice cream into your containers, alternate some of the run/coke slush in-between the ice cream so you get a layered effect.

Since I am winging it with this recipe, I will let you know how it turns out.... I hope there is not too much sugar in it so people will enjoy it!
